  1. By reading your handbook and learning...... Sorry to be so blunt, but it is the best way.
  2. Just a guess but inspection service due maybe. Do you not have a manual for the car?

No, not the old ones that make your dinner, Lol. Looking to get my boiler replaced and hopefully through the Eco 3 scheme and currently awaiting a visit for a quote or two. It does seem that system boilers (high pressure) can be chosen using this scheme along with the usual combi boilers, but can anyone confirm this??? https://www.npower.com/energy-saving/ecoscheme/free-boiler/ Wondering if it may be down to the chosen supplier / installers or not??? Either type will be condensing, I know. Done a lot of research too but cannot always find the answers so... *Does anyone know if the hot water cylinder in a system boiler's configuration has to be fed from the mains (see above link) or can be left with the loft feed tank to push the hot water out. I realise it possibly? makes sense that it is fed from the boiler, for economical purposes (ie pre heated slightly ???) but........ I ask as I have a power shower with both feeds gravity fed at present and if the hot has to feed off of the mains (direct from the new system boiler through the cylinder) then I suspect this will affect the cold supply to the shower that is only gravity fed. Please note..... I realise *it may be a silly question but I only recently realised that 'system' boilers are also called 'high pressure' boilers. If any of my info is incorrect please let me know and any input or sensible ideas gratefully appreciated. I don't really want to have to buy a new shower tbh. Thanks.
  4. Yes, mine were a b17ch to disconnect the plug / leads also. I think I ended up breaking off the securing tabs through frustration, but got them disconnected in the end and have not had any issues with the plugs coming apart with the securing clips missing. Someone may have a diagram of how to un-clip the securing clips but otherwise iirc I just prised them apart with a screwdriver, hence breaking the clips. Have you googled it???
  5. On new glass particularly (in my experience) Rain X is excellent....... I had a brand new works van, Mercedes Vito, and put Rain X on the screen. You do have to make sure it is buffed off thoroughly for the best experience, and the driving conditions were specific, ie mainly fast motorway and major A roads, but I drove from Peterborough (iirc) to Nottingham (it was a number of years ago) in quite heavy rain and hand on heart, never even had to use the windscreen wipers once. Driving speed of said journey was a major factor though and not rush hour either. I have had to remove the rear wiper on my Octy recently so you reminded me to get some Rain X on the glass. Cheers.
  6. And whilst your AA man is fixing yours @Dale_Stevens , @weasley is going to sneak up and nick your spare wheel, whilst to himself, Lol.
  7. Are these raised floors hinged or fold-able???? In my Octy it lifts at the rear and folds backwards. The very back piece stays in place whilst the two other pieces fold upwards together. It has a little slot that the rear edge sits into creating a partition wall which gives two smaller partitions, for the shopping at the very back and also a good leaning place preventing the shopping moving too much. Two seconds to lift the floor up and drop into the slots.
  8. Just carry one of these in the car then....
  9. Are they not more for a cargo net, possibly??? Otherwise 'Simply not Clever', Skoda, Lol.
  10. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Reverse-Action-Twist-Drill-Bit/dp/B075R6GCDM These might do it.
  11. Agreed.... I think the vertical split, I will say makes it look worse, as I am not really a fan of it's looks anyway..... The Audi's have had the so called 'beard' look for years. Personally I think the A5 looks a hell of a lot nicer.
  12. @cello If you haven't 'worked' the pistons a little it is likely to seize again in the near future............ You may be lucky tho.
  13. Well unfortunately I cannot answer your query but as for Ideas....... possibly not the kind of idea you were thinking of but maybe put your keys somewhere safe when you get home / work, rather than keep them in your pocket so this does not happen in the meantime, before hopefully someone can give you the permanent solution.... I'm sure you sussed this out for yourself tho after it happening a few times. Good luck with it.
  14. Yes stu, a thorough clean of all of the seals should help the water trickle away and dry out rather than get trapped by muck and drip into the car when the door is opened..
  15. What, they just open on their own (like using the fob) or is it an automatic temperature control???
  16. Might be worth starting your own post buddy... Mike hasn't visited the site for over a year...
  17. I put a towel on top of the luggage cover until I was sure I had it sorted... LHS edge / corner by any chance???

Things like using stupid symbols where a simple word would do very nicely to explain what it did / was. Some of these symbols make no sense in relation to what they are for, to me at all.
  19. So long as you get the bits the correct length, just long enough to the bottom of the seal, they will only push against the seal, so no, will not affect the door at all.
  20. It is a common-ish problem stu. Especially the rear door one. .............. Look at blackspaven's 'rear door water ingress leak' for a cure to the footwell leak. The top of the door seals trap water which drips onto the seat when door is opened and same can happen with the tailgate. Try thoroughly cleaning the seals, both on the door frame and the opening, getting behind the flat seals too, and the same on the tailgate. This has a good possibility of sorting your problem or at least making it much less of a problem. Just last year I noticed water on the boot cover, fortunately nothing more than on the cover so found it in time, cleaned the whole seal and inside the frame and nothing since.
  21. @Maloneon Well, I guess the car has gone through 3 or 4 mot's without issue, so nothing to worry about imo. My old A4 has adaptive xenons and I never noticed it doing the 'dance' thing as you mention. I know some do, although I could never work out why they do this.
  22. Not a particular help, and I do not wish to offend either..... But it does sound like this vehicle should not be on the road with these issues. May depend what country you are in?. No Hazard lights would be an mot fail I guess, and if the car is shutting down whilst someone is driving then the hazard lights could prove invaluable if they worked. Hopefully you can get your issues sorted.
  23. If the pieces are usually 2.4m could you not cut to length before transporting??? Or are they just as / or more usable the longer they are???
