  1. That's weird. I downloaded the same file a few days ago, no issues when downloading and no errors showing up while unzipping on Windows, only tried once as no need to repeat it. Haven't launched the update yet as I plan to do it during a coming small trip but all seems good with the file. I take it you are unzipping to the computer's hard drive, not on the SD directly?
  2. Not an issue at all with most LM turbos up to 500bhp, they feature basically stock IS38 spool when you look at their dyno graphs, just go ahead with one! There's even a 440bhp LM IS20 hybrid on offer which spools even faster than a stock 280 IS38 For the sound I can understand it but wouldn't it be better to just upgrade your cat-back for that purpose? Much more pronounced effect than the mid-res upgrade. Nah, I wouldn't be without my virtual cockpit and DSG7 In fact the cockpit has spoiled me to the extent I can't even consider any older analog dial dash car any more Just need to wait for REVO to sign off their stage 2 map... Supposedly they've been on this for some time now (sigh) PS. Do you mean that you actually tow all the time?
  3. Yep, I noticed! I know these wheels Some more questions upon further observations, lol: Is that the Maxton front splitter and side skirts? If so, how much more does it bring the car closer to the ground? (the splitter) been contemplating about this for some time but need to either have a precise value or see one in person (unlikely where I am) Cheers
  4. Maybe you meant to write "in preparation for my stage 3 upgrade" ? Just curious about this as the centre res is not a bottleneck at least until 420-430bhp of mild hybrids, which are above a 380-400bhp stage 2 anyway. Roscio's big turbo is a different story of-course. I'd love some comparison data (times more than bhp actually) for a stage 1 > stage 2 switch... Not that there are any stage 2 tunes available for my 272 yet though
  5. 20" are sitting so nicely within the Superb's arches, not a clue of being an aftermarket size I sometimes regret not going 20" with my Ispiris but they're glossy black so maybe it wouldn't matter too much, just a black tire following a black alloy after all Looks great!
  6. Oh that "green"! Yeah not my cup of tea either
  7. Haven't seen that one you refer to but I'd love to have a "British Racing Green" colour option on the MKIII Sportline in Sweden, just endless shades of grays, black and white were available I have even considered a wrap in BRG...
  8. I'm guessing online? Considering a front lip for my Sportline too at the moment, there seem to be three options mainly: Superskoda website, offers a few different designs but some have commented the quality is rather poor: http://www.superskoda.com/Skoda/SUPERB-III/Front/ Maxton UK: https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/body-kits/skoda/Skoda Superb/skoda-superb-mk3/skoda-superb-mk3-prefacelift/front-splitter-v2-skoda-superb-iii A few people have their products and seem pretty happy with them And Rieger Tuning in Germany: https://www.rieger-tuning.biz/article/00088149+24827468 I'm going with Rieger, as the design of the V2 lip is identical between Maxton and Rieger and Superskoda but I don't like the Maxton logo right in the middle of the lip as I prefer OEM looks. Also I've read very positive comments about the quality and fitment of the Rieger items.
  9. You got me wondering now so I looked up Polestar's range calculator and the charging network in Sweden and Germany using this site: https://www.uppladdning.nu/List.aspx We usually aim to cover around 600-800km in a day with one or two 20-30min stops. Assuming the car has say 50-100km left when we stop, we'd need to find at least a 50kW charger to refill to 80% while stopping for 2hr. Do UK stations offer 50kW on their majority? That would be livable despite increasing the daily trip time by 3hr. If there were 150kW at a wide availability it would be a non-issue really. Hmm, Skoda Enyaq iV coming out next month right?
  10. Commuting or even smaller trips is not an issue clearly, and for probably 95% of my use it would be just as carefree from a "refueling" point as any ICE car I believe. What worries me is that the kind of road trips we are doing like once year would not be possible any more as they would take easily 4-5x more time and I just can't accept spending 40-50K for a great car that I'd love to drive and carry my family in only to have to use some cheap rental for these trips. Also some other trips although shorter would just not be possible at all due to total lack of charging stations. I know it doesn't sound as something that would bother someone too often but just the thought of not being able to do it was enough to steer me away. It's probably just a matter of time though before the infrastructure gets to a point where such issues will be a thing of the past so I'm not in a particular rush
  11. Just weigh yours when you put winters on (are you?) , I have the values from mine
  12. Yes it seems that way. Difference mostly coming from panoramic roof (and lack of spare wheel on mine). Me and you are also on lighter wheels which save almost 20kg off. Out of curiosity, remember to weigh one RS6 wheel vs a Vega one when you swap them, or even just one RS6 rep alone. It's unusual for replicas to be particularly lightweight but you never know.
  13. Love the Polestar 2, I'd take that any day over the silly Model 3 which has the nerve to be called a "family car"... Better looking, bigger, and better quality overall On the horsepower aspect though, 400bhp might sound like being a lot but in reality when they have to move 2+ ton plus without gearing, they are not as impressive/effective as they might sound or as they would be in a similar size (but lighter) petrol/diesel car. Judging from the 0-100-200 figures, acceleration is comparable to a 300-320bhp IEC car (eg. Cupra estate) which is nice but nothing too impressive by today's performance standards. And the biggest appeal of the IEC car if you're a little bit into tuning is that it can improve its performance dramatically with a remap or even further mods, whereas the EV is fixed at its stock performance for its entire lifetime but that applies to all EV not just the Polestar of-course. Out of curiosity, how is the charger network in the UK? Another deal breaker for me (apart from the fact only a dual motor Model S would feel quick ) is that you just can't have long trips unless the route happens to involve fast chargers. Personally I don't think I'd mind the lack of noisy engines, exhausts, smells and all that sentimental stuff, I've seriously considered going EV as my next car but every time I am changing my mind eventually simply due to lack of infrastructure and still a really high price of the actually fast EV's out there. Maybe in 3-5 years?
  14. Sportline on Eibach Pro Kit:
  15. In my opinion, this is one of the most needed mods (visually) on this particular car: widening the tracks, either by spacers or better, wider alloys. I haven't come across any other equivalent VAG car where the wheels are sitting so much inside the arches. I'm guessing Skoda could only widen the MQB tracks so much, but that wasn't enough to fit the much bigger and wider body of the Superb (compared to the rest of MQB cars). If you look at Golf R's, Cupras etc. the wheels are sitting nicely close to the fenders from factory (as they should), on the Superb they are at least 15mm further inside, almost lost in the arch void it's ridiculous. 15mm spacers will be fine although what would be even better would be to go for wider aftermarket alloys (yeah I know, 10x more expensive). That way you push the wheels 13-15mm out, you save at least some or lots of unsprung mass (stock alloys weigh a ton each) and improve the looks in one shot. This is how it looks on 19x8.5 ET37 alloys (13mm further out than stock), no spacers of-course, that was before lowering and once I saw it I decided to lower on Eibachs right after as with the wheel further out the arch gap was more obvious: Lowering is also a good idea if you don't have issues with a slightly lowered car. Eibachs drop it 25/30mm on front/rear and together with wider alloys or spaces it's a great combo. Comfort is almost unaffected, the spring rates from Eibachs seem to be really close to stock ones.
  16. On my previous GTI Clubsport I switched from 18" S001 to 19" PS4S. Noise was comparable and definitely not more on the PS4S but what shocked me was the extra ride comfort on the one inch bigger alloy + tire. The PS4S has a softer sidewall which makes it extremely pleasant on 19" and i imagine 20" and above. Traction was incredible of-course, on a 370bhp FWD car you could tell the improvement even in 4th gear... Given that the AWD 272 does not need to worry about traction I might consider something which is rated a couple db lower than both the S001 and PS4S ( 71db) when I change the Potenzas, still with some performance capability though, if something like that exists.
  17. +1 on the S001 not being the quietest tire out there. Never liked them on any of the two cars (Golf GTI and Superb 272) that had them fitted from factory... Looking forward to have to replace mine (4mm tread left...) Of-course the Merc should have superior road noise insulation (to some extent at least) but those tires will only make the situation worse. Hard to justify a tire change on a brand new car but then again people do all sorts of mods on their car for much more money than a tire set so...
  18. I highly doubt it has to do with the L&K. I have the same equipment as Roscio on my car (because every possible extra minus sun-roof and spare wheel was added), I even got stuff like electric tow bar and the Webasto auxiliary heater ( @Roscio do you have those? ) that contribute to weight and my Sportline still showed 1620kg with 1/4 of fuel and a 7-8kg child seat in, precision was +/- 10kg I think. It's probably just the sun-roof, spare wheel and all that fuel that make this 65kg difference. They make for quite some extra weight though.
  19. Me too, absolutely. They gave the car the distinct "sport sedan" attitude I was after. They are Ispiri FFP2 Gloss Black in 19x8.5 ET37 in case you where wondering!
  20. I don't know much about the gen2 CZZ engines but I believe they are very different compared to the gen3 so I don't think there are any useful similarities between them. I believe the addition of MPI on the US MK7 is psossible only because the rest of the world's MK7 come with MPI from factory so even the US cars have the "infrastructure" built-in from factory (the receptions for port injectors) that are just not used on the US cars (and on the 2019 DNU cars). So all it takes is the injectors kit and the tuning. But I have on idea if the CZZ has anything like that built-in.
  21. For some fresh air during the weekend
  22. An Arteon hatch 272 then? Or even better the upcoming R? 😛🤗
  23. Agreed on the excessive brightness of the trebles and mids. Coming to the Canton equipped Superb from a Dynaudio (6-7 speaker?) Mk7 GTI was a revelation in terms of mids but I eventually had to tone it down (still better than the sound from the top spec GTI/R) However my experience does not match your findings regarding the sub. I leave it easily around 4-5 and occasionally I had tried it at 6-7 on some really weak low frequency pieces without any rattles let alone distortion. Furthermore, most of my content is electronic music where the kick drum is one of the main protagonists of the track usually coupled with thick and low bass-lines and I have found that the above setting of 4-5 is easily managed by the system. My content is streamed 100% from Spotify with the "very high" setting checked (think it's a 320kbps equivalent). It's on exceptionally few tracks that I might notice a slight bit of distortion which could also be down to mixing/mastering choices I believe. I also agree with your overall evaluation: Yes it's not mind-blowing but it's a very decent system to have in your Skoda and is definitely a no-brainer for anyone who takes music half-seriously and always put their own selections (or even their own tracks) as soon as they drive off (like I do )
  24. For which engine are you asking about? The 272 DNUA is not a gen4. Gen4 will come first on the new Mk8 Golf GTI and Golf R. In the gen3 DNUA of the 272 I guess it is theoretically possible (in the US they have been adding MPI before on their DI engines) but I don't think it's done yet on this engine as I think the mapping is a bit tricky. I lost you on the Mk6 GTI reference though.
  25. Thanks JR, that would explain why Amundsen is not enough to display maps on the VC of OP's car, unless something is different to the 2020 cars and Amundsen got a fibre optic (unlikely)
