  1. Hi Andy, Just to pick you up on one point ! I think you mean May of last year not this year! Radiotwo
  2. Hi Ed What have the insurance company said? Usually the insurance company suggests if you use the appointed repairers then you get you Courtesy car, if you sort out the repairers your self, you might have to sort out a car your self. Thats what happened to me some years ago, mine was a van so they don't have Courtesy vans (well big ones) so I had to hire one, then claim the cost back Radiotwo
  3. Hi JMK First of all I assume by "coolant" you mean Gas ! if so the best wat to check is put the system on cold(or v cold) and see if there is a cold flow of air out of the airvents, then turn off the aircon and see if it gets warmer, if it does then I guess the air con is working. As for testing with a guage as you put it I would suggest you have it tested Professionally as it is ilegal to vent the gas to air(Cfc's etc) But to get to the point of Condensation, I don't think that has any thing to do with the air con ! You say you have cleaned out a couple of filters, and that has not cured the air-flow? then try without the filters and then check the blower motor to see if it is running on all the speeds(ie full speed) Hope that is of some help Radiotwo
  4. Hi This has been mentioned before, but can people please intimate where they are, and say what car they have. But in this case it might not be the same car, but please say where you are and what car you want to move. Radiotwo
  5. Hi ChrisG Just a guess, not sure with the micro card, but with the standard card, there is a switch on the side to stop over writing onto the card ! Radiotwo
  6. Hi Again Daz Sounds like the battery is ok! I assume there is not a switch on the amps? if not the wiring of a amp via a relay is easy(if you know what to do) First of all, you need to know what the Amps draw(ie current), I have not got a clue what they draw, but should say on the amps somewhere like Amps or watts( I don't mean Output watts) I mean input ! If it gives you a input rating of say 50 watts then it would be about 4 Amps, you just need Ohms law (I=P/V (50Watts/12Volts=4Amps)) so once you have the current, then get a Automotive relay rated above the current of the amps. then here comes the easy bit ! take a supply from the IGN feed (say from the back of the radio) then through the coil of the relay and to earth, so the relay clicks on when the ign is switched on, and clicks again when switched off, then just get the wires from the amp, and break the connection via the last two connectors on the relay. So when you switch on the ign the amps come on and when you switch off the amps go off. Relays, Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT), Automotive Relays Just have a look at the link above, it will show a bit more what I mean. Hope this helps, if not please ask ! Radiotwo
  7. Hi Daz I think you have answered your own question ! I asume you have give it a quick run round, and it restarts ok? if so seems as you say the amp etc are drawing current, and as you have left it a few days then the capacity is just not enough to hold out. Sound like you don't leave it like this on a regular basis, but might be an idea putting a relay in the ignition, so it cuts the power when the keys are out, or a manual switch to do the same. Radiotwo ps, don't think the battery is knackered(unless the car did not restart)
  8. Hi Alex Probibley not the answer you want, but they won't fit your car, but there is kits around that have the twin filiments, poss you could pay the extra, and get the other kit. I wonder what kit you have(H7 H2) or what? poss sell them on ! Radiotwo
  9. If it has a "stop&tail"bulb, then you are looking at the wrong light ! as a fog light should just have a single filiment lamp, normally 21W Radiotwo
  10. There is four bolts holding the headlight in, undo and pull the headlight forward and then you can replace the lamp. You might know, but don't touch the glass part of the lamp, or you will be changing them again soon Radiotwo
  11. Have you checked the Bulbs? Radiotwo
  12. Just a last thought ! If Dave Harries was troubled by a Zenon lights then what would he do with the Low winter Sun ?? Do we try and ban that as well !! Radiotwo
  13. Well Dave I have read your post and the replies and I tend to agree with most of them "its not the lights that caused the accident" its your driving. So I think we will have a post to get bad drivers off the roads What do you think lads and lasses ? Radiotwo
  14. Jules From looking at the photo, I would plug it back in, and wrap some insulation tape round it, and it will be fine. Steve

  16. Hi Jimbo You do not say if you have Air con, but there is no need to warm the car up as you say, just start it and drive off, but sounds like you have a issue with it steaming up, well my tip is make sure your windows are kept clean on the inside, do not touch them with your hands, if you have to wipe them use a wash leather. if you have air con that will help a lot, but if not put the blower on the windscreen on cold(not Hot) as that will make it worse. The only other thing to consider, are your carpets damp ? if so you have a water leak, and that will not help with the condensation. Radiotwo
  17. The best place to put the jack, is underneath!
  18. Sound like it is a coincidence, not too sure if it has any connection, but the best thing to do is refit the old unit, and if the sensors work then its to do with the new instalation. Radiotwo
  19. Hi Jonny Things to to check first, is there 12Volts at the lamp holder? If there is check the earths, and know you say you have tried the bulbs, but are the bulbs ok? check them with a meter(continuity) if there is no voltage at the lamp holders, it could be the reversing switch, usully on the gearbox, again with a volt meter, with the ignition on, one side of the switch should be 12V and when in gear you should get 12v on the other side, if all these check are ok, then looks like a poss burnt out wire, or poss a broken wire. Hope that is of some help Steve
  20. Hi Folks How is the Group Buy going ? I thought they would be here for early Oct Steve
  21. So reading your driving style, "don't drive excessivly fast, but can hard on the brakes"! meens you drive fast enough, so I reconn you will get about 8000 on the front, and poss 10000 on the back. If you set off like a snale and don't use your brakes then I recon you will get four times the milage at least, with carefull driving I get about 60K out of my tyres, and have had just under 100K out of my Van. Then if you were going to drive like a saint ! then I guess you would not have gone for a VRs ! Steve
  22. Congratulations to you all Best wishes from myself and my wife, and Chris will want to pass on his regards, when he gets home from work Steve, Veron, Chris& Jenny, Jessica
