2024 MD1CS004 ecu
Are there any tuners here that can remapp these 2024 ECU’s? Or will it ever be possible to remap them? I’m trying to avoid the tuning boxes due to mixed views on them.

DTUK , Racechip, JB4 tuning boxes definitive conclusion
I have a 2024 vRS TDI 200bhp. Should these boxes be avoided or are they ok these days? My car isn’t currently remappable. DTUK claim a ludicrous 260ps lol. My main worry is no real power increase and a clogged DPF longterm. Thoughts?

Oil consumption
Interestingly the 200bhp evo engine uses the older spec oil 507.00 0w 30w. The 150 bhp uses the 508.00 0w 20w. Different pistons.

Burning Oil
My 3 month old vRS TDI used 1.5 litres in the first 5k miles. I hope it’s because the engine is new, can’t be good for the DPF longterm.

I’m guessing awful traction in ice?
A bit disappointed in my new diesel RS. I went to a party in an open field up a hill recently. Grass was fairly dry but strugglled to climb a grass embankment, had to take a good run at it . Other cars including my partners 2009 Auris 1.4 diesel climbed it no problem along with other cars. How are these cars like in ice? A bit worrying.

eternaly problem p2002 effieciency below threshold particulate trap bank 1
That code on a 2.0 TDI is usually a blocked EGR not DPF.
-
Delivery times?
Ordered my vRS diesel exactly 4 weeks ago. It’s going to be built between March 18th -24th. Then approximately 4 weeks until I collect it.

Keyless Entry
Do the octavia’s auto unlock as you approach and auto lock when you walk away like the Dacias?

is dpf/egr still an issue with newer diesels?
Yes, the egr do give problems. My Passat has a clogged egr. The DPF is fine though. The car done has 200k. It gives the P2002 00 code. It’s been like that for the last 70k but doesn’t affect the running of the car. It just gives an intermittent engine light. I’m tempted to map the code off.

Full Matrix Headlights
An old thread i know but something needs to be pointed out. A friend owns a 2023 Tiguan with matrix headlights. He told me he gets flashed at times , a different story that you are telling. They are also far from perfect. I currently own a B8 Passat with dynamic light assist ( not matrix). They work great on back roads etc but on long stretches they can be lazy due to the car being far away. I have adapted to using them in certain environments.

diesel volume
I have to disagree. I have put starship mileage on diesel’s over the years. I currently have a remapped VW diesel 2.0TDI 290bhp from new and now has done 200,000 miles. Runs like new and no oil burning. Going back to the OP a friend recently bought a Tiguan with the 150bhp Evo engine. It’s the quietist diesel engine i have heard to date. I’m sure the 200bhp evo engine is quite similar.

Opinions on the fully black emblem
Nice, do you mind me asking where you ordered from?

Opinions on the fully black emblem
Has anyone fitted one to their race blue vRS? How does it look? I’m also thinking of changing the puddle lights from “Skoda” to “vRS” anyone fit them?

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
They pulled the plug the next day. Close one!

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
Yep. Any day now. I got my order in anyway!

VRS diesel remapping
That’s a large increase, must be more tuneable than the older 190 engines?
-
VRS diesel remapping
Has anyone on here remapped one? I can’t find much info about. Are they remappable? What are the gains on the newer 200 engine?

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
I have one ordered! What are the lights in the bumper? Fog lights or extra DRL’s?

Keyless fault
I had the same issue with my 2017 Passat. No fault codes either. Disconnecting the battery and reconnecting would cure it for a day or so. The fault has now disappeared and hasn’t returned, strange.

I’m about to pull the trigger 😕

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
Thanks for the replies. I think i can live with less power because these days with cops loving handing out tickets i don’t get to stretch the legs on the Passat like i used to. A remap might liven it up a bit anyway. How is the comfort long haul? I regularly go to France on road trips. The Passat was great for cruising.

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
Having owned a remapped 2017 Passat BiTDi 240bhp to 290bhp. Love this car but it’s approaching 7 years and 200,000 miles. It’s fast and i say that having owned a mk2 Octavia 2.0 TFSI that was modded to 320bhp all those years ago. I’ll certainly miss it. i quite like the look of the vrs especially in blue. How do you rate them? Would i regret buying one? My worry is loss of comfort and power and i might regret it. Yes i know there’s a 245 version but driving 30k a year might make it expensive to run in comparison.

How do you know that your fly wheel needs replacing? .......and how much would it cost roughly?
That’s what mine sounded like when my flywheel went, no vibration or judder though, rattly growl when accelerating

Accelerator pedal goes dead for 2-3 sec, post Auto Start/Stop "starting" car
Not sure if it’s related but my car has a weak battery and sometimes when i start my car it cuts out after a few seconds with “start engine manually “ message.
