I take it they did change the reluctor ring and ABS sensor on the front left.
  2. A bit out of date with prices, this was a price from Skoda posted yesterday. """"The part number is 5Q 0521 307 and they would like the princely sum of £470.92 (inc vat), the parts depot double checked and confirmed the price. Out of curiosity I asked how much the whole propshaft was, just over £1,800 I do like someone with a sense of humour.""""
  3. Hurray for Yeti's on 16" wheels 205/55 16" £147 for 2 Michelin Cross Climate 2 fully fitted last week at Kwik Fit.
  4. The biggest help there is the price for a Skoda part and a good part being £323.07 difference!

Fitting the whole hub is probably easier and more profit for garage but the ring is available separately so that has to be cheaper if you have the tools and knowledge to remove the old one and install the new one. BUT it could be corrosion on the ABS ring that has damaged the ABS sensor.

It's usually the reluctor ring that causes the problems you've been getting.
  7. Have you used the Cross Climate 2 that came out a couple of months ago?
  8. I'll just pick one from there, tyres are improving every year so why take notice of a tyre that may have been good years ago. The Michelin Cross Climate + was a good tyre that was overtaken by several tyres new this year but the Cross Climate 2 that came out a month or two ago has beaten them all and even better grip in snow than quite a few winter tyres. PS: again I'll ask what country are you in?
  9. That is one of the strangest quotes I have read, how many people have a choice of tyres to test on their car and in all the different conditions to be encountered. The choice we make will be from watching how those tests (by experts) are made to make our choice from there. PS: what country are you in because the grammar above does not indicate from the UK?
  10. On stop/start cars the charger negative lead must not be connected to the earth terminal on the battery but to an earth post to the right of the battery.
  11. Where did you connect the charger to?
  12. Sounds to me a coincidence you also have a reluctor ring failed.
  13. That is the boot style that has problems with broken wires. The new boot hangs in a U shape so the wires don't have to flex so much. Can you not gently pull it away from the A pillar and door to check wires inside?
  14. Check the loom between the A pillar and drivers door by carefully pulling the rubber boot back. A known fail point.
  15. Just as much, these damp and foggy mornings to dry the air.
  16. When I looked round for my 16" these were the cheapest. https://www.kwik-fit.com/
  17. I have had Michelin Cross Climate+ on the rear for some time and am having Cross Climate 2s on the front this week at Kwik Fit. £159.30 for the pair fully fitted ,16" wheels are great 😁 And a bluetooth speaker to be claimed from Michelin after fitting!
  18. Yes Works well on my Facelift.

The only time I use recirc is when we are going thru smoke or a vehicle ahead is smoking etc, or for a few minutes after startup if temperature is below zero. It does not help with demisting much as it is recirculating the damp air.
  20. Usually plenty in Lidl, about £12, crocodile clips from battery, oil wants to be warm not up to full temperature.
  21. I use a suction pump from Lidl to get oil out, only takes 5 minutes when warm and pumps it straight into an empty container so no mess to clear up and saves taking the undertray off.
  22. 👍 Then if the same it would appear that the car does not have that option.
  23. Only the Monte Carlo, Elegance, SE L and L&K had "Coming/Leaving home" as standard but it could be ordered as an extra on the SE model. The Yeti never had a 1 litre petrol engine, only 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 litre petrol engines. Is the Ambition a UK model?
