  1. @J.R. With my right leg amputated and and artificial leg a Fabia vRS or any Fabia or Roomester was fine for me getting in and out and a low seat and distance to the pedals. A Yeti height is OK, as i am not short, the seat height fine. The door sills outer & inner were not. Putting my artificial foot in and out over the sill, and also dirty trouser leg. Same thing with a Superb, i do not like the width of the sill to the inside floor.
  2. They just drive so nicely. & then i loved my Volvo S60.
  3. Around Scotland which is Electricity rich there are electric busses in towns, cities and going between them. Hydrogen ones also. The quicker more are rolled out the better. England just needs to be getting in with things.
  4. Best go and her sit in one and drive it. Is it the height from the floor to seat base height that matters, or the ground to sill then once inside the floor to seat base height? Then seat base height from seat to the pedals. @Robjon might know both & how they compare.
  5. @26DIPP Where can we find these 'Tech Staff' with knowledge of new Skoda Models?, or any currently available, or past ones? It is not with anyone among these people. Try them!
  6. Personally, if leasing or buying used or new for doing a few hundred miles a week a few times a week and for work reasons and time critical it would be a Polestar i would drive. The only reason for any of the Tesla,s would be for the Supercharger hubs, but as Tesla non Tesla has expended then a Polestar it would be.
  7. On the World Service during the night i heard a programme that was about the Study by who ever where ever on the affect of pollution on health, mental health. Pre-born and young people and later life and mental health and depression. It did talk about the highest concentration of pollution then went on to India and just how bad pollution was there and the concentration of particles and the affect on wider health. Where Scotland's highest reported polluted streets were was pretty near bus stations, or bus stances or routes through built up areas. Maybe where there is blame there is a claim. After all who ran the busses and bus stations is a known known, as who ran the country.
  8. Welcome. Do you mean the original 6 year old tensioner gave up and the replacement mechanic fitted failed also? Was the Cam Belt ok first time and re-used or was that replaced? Was the water pump replaced? No idea but people that know about engines will be along hopefully.
  9. Welcome to the forum. How many miles has it done, and have you had it from new and has this just started recently? What servicing has your Kodiaq had so far? Has it had a brake fluid change, has it had a MOT done yet? Maybe not related but have you had the Haldex Service yet?
  10. My mum was born in 1923 but at 20 went from the Edinburgh area where her brothers and father had not long lives up to Macduff. To where my dad was 1 or 12, the 2nd youngest, his younger brother died at 12. (Infection started with a carbuncle) Anyway my mum has had the long life like 4 of my dads sisters. a North East war time diet, then a life of healthy food.) My gran did not live so long having had 11 children in 25 years or so. Ps been putting pictures on Facebook this week.
  11. VW Group might need to limit the ICE vehicles First Registration and delivery in the UK until they can be sure they have the 22% EV,s First Registered because if not each vehicle will cost them £15,000 of a fine. This next quarter might be interesting for just which models or brands have to ration First Registrations.
  12. @Phoenixboy 'Far up north' where, England which is not far north in the UK, or far up north in Scotland that is Shetland? Location location location, but where you might drive and when. Far up in the North East of Scotland is maybe near the coast of in the Grampians. Surely people know themselves if they have driven a few years the kind of tyres they need for where they drive and the climate / seasons.
  13. That is how averages work. I am not convinced that those born in the 1960,s and 70,s will be very long lived as an average. No matter what scientists say. Sugar and processed foods, and early years living with emissions / pollution. Well not those brought up in Scotland.
  14. @Joanc Welcome. Why was the brake fluid level high, did you top it up too high or someone else. Where the brakes serviced or parts replaced or brake fluid? Is the car new to you and you were checking things?
  15. Worry about the AVERAGE life expectancy of MEN maybe and if you are a man are you an average kind of a man. Without doing a google but just from my mum being 99 and many of her and my fathers friends or family, the women are widows for maybe 15 years or more from how much sooner their hard working husbands dies before them.
  16. AMAZON went the way of investing in a start up company for their vans did they not, and there might be an issue. Which manufactures vans do they use in the UK? DPD run plenty Electric Vans in Scotland, as do the Post Office, Open Reach, British Gas and , OVO and lots of others.
  17. The car as in brakes, suspension, steering, door seals and the rest will be just the same as any other Skoda or VW Group models with the same parts, as will the 1.5 TSI ACT engine. They have been used 7 years now. The mess they made around 2018 with getting the WLTP is sorted out, sadly now some report from newish ones the 'cutting out' issue.
  18. Re that Hybrid charging. Maybe a 13kWh battery if it does 30 miles.) If the dude can park there and does park there as the cars are in the picture the cable from a 3 pin plug on an extension could be plugged in and charging. If that wall / road side is where the Driveway entrance is going to be if it gets planning permission. Stopping others being able to park there...
  19. People have been getting on driving OK for maybe 70 years or more in 60 mph UK NSL roads with a lot crappier lights than cars have had fitted in the past 10 years. As long as the Matrix lights do not dazzle others and auto dip,s do dip they will be fine.
  20. @lol-lolare you taking it out of the UK much to be doing high speed runs?
  21. I like the colour.
  22. People with cars also travel places without their car. This is the point of Park & Rides. The reason Train Stations had car parks, not just for staff. People from households use Public Transport if there is public transport. There are multiple occupied homes where people might be going different places in the 1.3 average cars. Then Bus tour holidays etc.
  23. There are people that do not drive cars, have cars or travel by car. A few million likely in the UK.
