  1. As to the Scottish Government vehicles in the FOI it would be nice to see what they are, ages etc. The Teslas might have gone along with Nicola Sturgeon's husband and her. What the various Government Vehicles are used for will be interesting. Deliveries of internal mail, Transport Scotland maybe, some Official Parliament business with Minister. As to Fire risk and actual fires across the UK the number of those that are a case of arson is relevant. There might well be some areas or countries of the UK where that is more common. Maybe like at times of riots. Nice cars. Some substantial ones...
  2. @CTvrs NO! Do not drive until you get a warning light or message. Check it cold again and at normal operating temp maybe after 500 miles or even sooner. No point going 1 litre or more low. You are not doing the engine any favours.
  3. @Mori17 Welcome to the forum. How about saying what engine and gearbox your car has, and how long you have had it or when this started? Was it OK for how long, & then at some point the battery started going flat?
  4. @Winston_Woof That was the question. By whoever. It is common for people to say that, even those with a EV.. The answer did not repeat what they asked, they replied to the EV,s and none caught fire.
  5. It is not a secret or anything special but when passing on the outward part of a trip or going through the likes of Aviemore / TESLA Supercharger, (Roy Bridge 50 kW DC) Fort William where there are Rapid, Ultra Rapid or TESLA Superchargers get in a charge and do not be left relying on a 7 or 11 kW AC charger to get the charge further on. ,some call them destination chargers. More like Desperation. You need 10 kW and they will take an hour to get. £6.50 for maybe an extra 35 to 50 miles. Get you moving and someone who wants to park and charge for 4 or 5 or more hours is on the only 2 charge points. Maybe only 1 working .
  6. ^^^ Lucky to have had any answer via a FOI. & as to if the reply can be trusted, anyone's guess. A BEV is a Battery Electric Vehicle. Battery power no Engine. This past week a fire in Perth Scotland. No more info on if a full BEV, or PHEV or MHEV or a Range Extender. .................. If they left after 1 hour was it a BEV on fire, or did they leave with the vehicle? Was it less than 2 hours they were there? 2 Fire & Emergency service (fire engines) attended.
  7. @Maxi24 It is not private work if you get a VW / SKODA / AUDI / SEAT / PORSCHE approved repairer and the Skoda Authorised Repairer / Dealership contract the Business to carry out the work. I would not be paying for the work and waiting fora refund from a VAT Registered Skoda Dealership. Tell the Dealer Principal to arrange the Repaint local to you, or they can arrange delivery of a Courtesy car and collection and transportation of your car to them.
  8. These are nice but expensive @ 69 pence a kWh & i never understand why it is never asked why Fiona Hyslop MSP is not chauffeured about in a EV & not just a faulty 68 plate PHEV. (unable to charge.) They just never say that the Charging Speed / Miles added is dependent on you driving a vehicle that can use the charging speed / power of the Ultra Rapid chargers that there are there. For these Ultra Rapid chargers the tariff is not that high really. (That nearby Coffee Shop is just a few steps away and with x 2 Rapid Charger @ 79 pence a kWh.)
  9. Looking forward to the reveal. Hopefully a Elroq is more like this. (& a Epiq less like some of the images published like the one up top.)
  10. I am looking forward to hearing the experience of members and others once they have the New Skoda PHEV models with a 1.5TSI and bigger battery and faster charging.
  11. It is a pity that @Maxi24 never came back to update this thread. Or say when first posting the car was not new when he got it. I was going to suggest the paint was tested to see if as it was first applied at the factory. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/525173-is-this-covered-by-paintwork-warranty
  12. They will sell as many as the expect to sell. Many are more interested in practicality than the silly design over function that has been happening.
  13. @CTvrs How has it gone since you posted with the quantity of oil being used? How many miles has the car done since you posted?
  14. The con of the BIK / tax breaks where the vehicles are just running liquid fuel was the not green. A pi$$ take on tax payers assisting the business users. Also the kidology of the range from. Electric or in hybrid mode and the efficiency. As to blinkered. There are those that that can not see or chose to not see. Times are changing. Time the government in the UK gets real on real world UK use of vehicles. Get the TAX on energy used. What ever that is. And tax vehicles by weight / size as many are never getting used much anyway so not using fuel.
  15. Getting 4.6 miles a kWh. Started out showing 100% and 110 miles. Would do 133 miles + today with easy driving up hill and down glens.
  16. I take it then that other 1.5 TSI ACT,s at that dealership will sound the same when started as they all have a Catalytic Converter. They make up this stuff as they go along. ? Was that the Master Tech or a tech that told you that? The Spark plugs should be changed even though not at 40,000 miles. Is there a nice clean Air Filter fitted? This shows Fixed Service intervals. Cam belt is not as shown here now, and 6 years for the Air Filter is ridiculous if not checked annually.
  17. Welcome. What engine is it. I know a TSI. Sounds like a bag of nails. What is the service history that is not bad. Were there oil and filter changes in the 4 years? What warranty have you got, just 3 months. Maybe better experienced and informed members will be along. That does not sound right though.
