  1. In the UK it is illegal to use a Hand Held phone while driving. You also need to be in control of the vehicle. So 'Mobile Phone App' and Parking a car while not in the car on a road or place open to the public. Is that legal in the UK? Cars insurance. Same thing, not in a vehicle, but moving it in or out of a parking space using a Mobile Phone. ? How does an Insurer look on that if the vehicle hits another, or a person or animal?
  2. It is a pretty basic set up. 2020 car with technology from a few years before. Something might be failing. ? What was the small repair? They have done under Warranty. What parts were replaced or not replaced? 4 year old car built 5 years ago. Was it even sitting a while built before it went on the road?
  3. In the UK it is a Financial Product. Read the Terms and Conditions of the product you are buying pre-buying.
  4. The weather here (UK) might be in the 20's *oC and the vehicle in the sun and the interior reaches the 40*oC. You are dealing with a Skoda and so so AC system. Bringing the temp 10*oC lower from 26*oC inside to 16*oC can be very dependent on the ambient temp. 36*oC to 26*oC as well.
  5. ^^^ Sounds fair enough. You do not keep doing the job you were employed to this year then next for the same wages as when you started the job do you?
  6. 24*oC is damn hot air and a interior temp for a car is it not? (even in hot countries.) 24*oC outside (ambient) and i have the setting for a cars interior at 16*oC.
  7. If only! I think they have mixed up what the Epiq is going to be with this non-city small crossover.
  8. Soap & Water, Washing up liquid. Bleach, anything with Disinfectant on the label will disinfect really. Just a clean up and dry out before putting the filter back is good for the plastic. Wet wipes or the likes will do fine. For the system. Antibacterial, Sanitiser, Odor bomb etc etc. Everyone has a product. Holts, Mannol, Liqui Moly, Autoglym etc etc
  9. How is it going around Westminster for those dying from EV fires? As long as the parliament is safe and it is just the general public at risk that will be the Government way.
  10. Re the nearly fully charged EV,s mentioned in the article @Stonekeeper, WTF. So is it nearly empty, or half charged or 75% charged fine. 90% not. @wyx087 That is probably the 500 households suffering water outages. So 'homeless' or water and electricity less. @Graham Butcher over 34,000 dead in Gaza. Homes levelled to the ground. Wars all around the world. Wars over land & resources. Oil & Gas and minerals to build vehicles. So we are not stopping those deaths, or climate change,or anything. Fire kills, bombing people kills. (Lets celebrate how great War Planes / Bombers were / are.) What a crap world. But anyway, have a war on EV,s. Tell us how many accidents there are with EV,s, or Geoff Buy,s Cars can tell us, and how an industrial accident kills a car worker.
  11. @Graham Butcher Is this UK Government ban on EV,s in their car parks about our car parks? Is it Car Parks used by the UK Government, or under building used by the Government. Owned by us, the UK public. Is it all underground car parks or just some? The Scottish Government have not banned EV,s from the Underground Car Park at the parliament building @ Holyrood. I Hope KC3 will be keeping EV,s well clear of Windsor Castle. We paid to restore that already.
  12. Business users able to claim back the 20% VAT from the public charging. The Reason EV drivers should be paying less that the Duty & VAT on Duty or less VAT on Electric is because it was about the incentive to change to EV,s. So it is the Business Users getting the BIK and the VAT back on the public charging and the UK Government helped the Car Trade sell EV,s that were overpriced then got a grant to make the price look more acceptable. Then that was dumped. So the Cunning Stunt from some stunning c-uknt,s sort of bunged money towards some company cars drivers getting very expensive models cheaply and the depreciation not being that important to them.
  13. RAC 6 hours +. How far north are you @MijIsTired? At least you will get £10 refunded if they take over 70 minutes to get to you
  14. Watch this space. The last quarter 2024 and those crapping themselves as the EV,s have to get first registered and the value of the used ones drop. The manufacturers are going to have to ration those cars and vans not Zero Emissions. Auctions, banks, car importers, manufacturers. Fleet managers and companies. Sh|t creak for some.
  15. Not that i know of. But a used one quite possibly. I thought i would buy an old MINI electric when the Mobility car goes back. (Identical to i am driving, and instead of extending the lease and keeping the one i have) Right now i could get one the same as i have for around £20,000. £15,000 lower than the RRP 12 months ago) In another 2 years it is anyones guess how cheap they will be for the car i have will be. It goes to auction. As it is who knows about in another couple of years but i am thinking maybe a used MINI Countryman PHEV. Que Sera Sera. Just now am fine with a choice of cars to use but always looking and thinking. The new longer range bigger battery PHEV,s are good. The Speed Limiter Warning's can be a PITA with some cars, some Lane Keep Assist is too intrusive. IMO. Not sure the future is Orange. Maybe for some of us, the best choices of cars are already here and available.
  16. I enjoyed a few hours in a New Mini Cooper S 2.0 Petrol Auto and thought it nicer than a New platform Mini Cooper SE (electric) and the center controls never bothered me as i never used them and had no need to switch off the stupid sounds there are with the Electric one. The ride in the petrol car was nicer and the auto with paddles. .......................... I am now pretty sure i should be driving a PHEV and not an EV even if i could get 200 miles or 200+ range from a home charge. Only the home charge makes for cheap driving. The public charging other Tesla non Tesla is just to hit or miss or expensive in Scotland. Home area running in the MINI is getting me 21 miles for 6.5 kWh. @ 22 pence a kWh 143 pence. (Normal daily home tariff, not EV / Offpeak.) That is a bit more than twice the miles that i would get from a liter of petrol at present prices. 143 pence. So if just public charging or once the home charged electricity is used the EV is equal to or more expensive to run. 2024 Cooper S. So Old Platform. Still wheel arches, sticky out handles but the new interior. Smother wings. No bonnet scoop. I like. Built in the UK. Accelerates and goes and without the wheelspin and torque steer that the New Electrics have on the totally inappropriate OME tyres.
  17. @ForkHandles 4x4 / Haldex available with the right Superb / engine / DSG. Be sure the Easy in out with a Kodiaq actually is for your elderly,s It is dependent on that passengers ability to get in and out. I have 1 leg, bad back & am not small and have always had 4x4,s and easy in and easy out & also a small car for local / short runs. Now i am low in a Mini & a BMW Estate and do not miss the higher seating or the climbing in or out. (1 vizsla in the rear of the MINI or the 520 estate.)
  18. It was Evolt apparently and the Payments, but i think that is a nonsense, people say they called CPS and the charger was started remotely. SWARCO own E-Volt. Charge Place Scotland had BP with the contract to run it and SWARCO did that for them. Charge your Car was hopeless in Scotland. I still have by CYC card from CPS. The Issue is Councils in Scotland and Maintenance and contracts with SWARCO, and SWARCO running CPS. Now the STRIPE payments. My account is now near £200 with CPS and i have no idea when they will want paid. & they have ignored my 3 requests to have 3 x £5 taken off my account. The comment section to the article covers things quite well. No idea really what the Taxi Driver or Association are om at.
  19. Maybe check out an article in the Dundee Courier and Advertiser. Taxi drivers could not work at the weekend. Charge Place Scotland issue and public chargers down at the weekend. As many point out. Plenty pay and go chargers in the city and working. Too many Taxi drivers used to the years of getting free charging. Crazy that rather than go charge their taxi at a commercial charger they would lose a weekends work. Dundee probably the place you least need Charge Place Scotland to do what tax payers are paying millions to go and running.
  20. Welcome. What engine are you thinking. Petrol or diesel to go with the DSG? Does it have to be a bigger engine or could a 1.5tsi act petrol do? Do you need to have the 4x4 or might it be better keeping it simple and possibly less cost in servicing? Best go drive the different models. PS maybe the Superb Estate for the Dogs. Is an Octavia too small?
  21. Do you mean the bolt pattern? They both are 5x100. As to wheel sizes of 15,16 or 17' you could use wheels from one model or another if the correct width / ET.
  22. It will matter which countries it is being sold / bought in will it not?
