the truth about electric cars
The error from BMW / MINI might well be the GWM getting together and the MINI electric being built in China. Now with the tariff issues which surely was thought about they need to get a move on and build the cars in the UK and the EU, or at least the EU. Regardless of where they build then the cars IT software stuff is really just too much of a concern for the future and repair and maintenance. Or just repair. The latest and coming soon BEV,s and non electrified or part electrified cars and the sorts of garages and dealership the UK has is not a match made in heaven IMO. PS, a Toyota IQ had loads of shoulder as and leg room for 2 wide and tall people and room for luggage or when the passenger slid their seat forward and still had leg room a passenger could get behind them. They really are an amazing design for interior space. Just no glove compartment in front of the passenger. I am amazed to have not seen one converted to an EV. But then they are great as they come with a petrol engine.

DSG Oil Change?
@erehwon13 having a 7;speed DSG does not mean it is a DQ200 dry clutch. There are wet clutch 7 speeds fitted to 2.0 TSI or TDI,s or AWD. So what engine have you. 1.5 TSI or a 1.6 TDI? No oil change needed if you have a DQ200 and there are 2 oils. If you have a DQ381 then the service guidelines are at 80,000 miles. But £215 is a price from a few years back. And I would not wait till 80,000 miles.

the truth about electric cars
110 miles @ 22 pence a kWh. 32 kWh so £7.04. then 11 kWh at 47 pence. £5.18. 40 miles. 150 miles for £12.22 Home with 10% and showing 8 miles. Back charging to 100% @ 22 pence a kWh. No back pain which is worth any amount of money. EDIT. 10% - 100% took 31 kWh £6.90 and 13 hours 24 minutes from the 3 pin socket.

Wrong oil used by garage? VRS 230
TDI,s are VW504 00 / 507 00. then VW508 00 / 509 00. Long Life oils even if Fixed Serving / oil changes. So the 507 00 bit, 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 III FS. 509 00. 0w 20 FS IV.

Wrong oil used by garage? VRS 230
Do you take the car to the track or something.? It is your money. Really a bit much though changing the oil and filter that often. Why not get a pump and do it yourself.
-
Wrong oil used by garage? VRS 230
If VW 502 00. 5w 40;full Synthetic that is not long life oil so for fixed / annual oil and filter changes 9,600 miles / 372 days. ? Is the cars service indicated now set on Fixed servicing and no longer Variable / flexible? As it should be if using VW 502 00 with a TSI.

Rust on panel around fuel filler housing
Welcome. Did you get Citigo, Mii or Up,s in the USA? It has nothing to do with dealers other than you report issues for warranty claims and a paint warranty is 3 years. As far as the corrosion warranty that is hit or miss. Approved used cars should have had the issue recorded and dealt with.

the truth about electric cars
I love it. I chose to travel by EV, but I could have come by diesel or petrol. Going into Aberdeen so horses for courses. Wee car, and sometimes lack of size is a good thing.

the truth about electric cars
Just as well I am 90 minutes early since a hire car is locked into the 1 of 3 rapids at Aberdeen airport park and ride. 1 charger broken and someone waiting on a taxi coming off the other one. There is a 2 hour charging then a £60 overstay which does not apply since the Mokka is not charging. I am on the 11 kW AC for an hour now instead of away for lunch. Such is real life EVing.

Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
Pay your share of the pollution and emissions. We have all been at it. And pay for roads and infrastructure because those that never travel far or even have as vehicle pay for motorways. But then they do buy stuff transported by road. But they pay for that. Then we all pay for trains even when we do not use them. It's just life and the economy. Someone needs to make people rich. We are all born naked and without pockets.

Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
22% of Cars first registered in the UK to be EV,s and 10% of Vans and that figure rises over the years. Plenty will be above the £40,000 mark, but then so will be ICE / Hybrid vehicles. The £40,000 figure might be changing once the Chancellor gets to changing things with a Budget or announcement.

Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
1 million or more registered EV,s in the UK now & maybe in a few years 2 million then we get to whatever. Many will be Business / Commercial users. It is what it is as far as revenue for the treasury & the public purse.
-
Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
'Logically'. & 'Making sense', Well when has that been achieved with the UK Governments or Devolved Government, Agencies, Civil Servants or consultants / advisers? You are paying per mile as it is as you buy fuel and the more fuel paid the more you pay. If the cost of running the distance matters drive more economically or get a more economic car. As to the same old same old over the EV,s and cost to run. There is the limited opportunity to get on that Magic Roundabout of Cheap Home Charging for those that can do that.

DSG mechatronic failure .... UK parts pricing surprise!
Good. Just as well to have it imported from Poland as it had to come from someplace, Germany or Czechia or elsewhere and then to Poland unless manufactured there.

Towing Auto Citigo
Look and see if you can find anything in a VW Up! Owners Manual, or maybe a SEAT Mii,s. ? Is the gearbox faulty?
-
Are we about to have the pay per mile system intoduced after all?
How far away is 'About'? Is it for vehicles of any age or New Registrations from some future date? Is there going to be some New Registration Plates that can not be changed easily from Vehicle to Vehicle or just Cloned introduced in the UK? Or maybe a ID / Registration Sticker for putting on a windscreen of a car or maybe right in the centre of the bonnet that can be read?

Towing Auto Citigo
It does not have a DSG though. Direct Shift Gearbox / Dual Clutch Gearbox. It is a ASG. Automated Single Clutch gearbox. *I think because an Automated Manual it is OK towed in Neutral* ? How far is it getting towed. A short distance slowly. What is it being towed with an A-Frame? Behind a Motorhome type tow?

Help!! My Vrs is going through oil too fast.
It is not unusual if driving a bit spirited to get a LOW OIL PRESSURE light or message before there is a LOW OIL LEVEL or Check the OIL level warning.
