A big fear is the person that says they need something from your car and they ask for the keys. Then when you say do not lay them down they think you are a nutter. Never worth trusting even your nearest and dearest though to go off with the keys to open your car. Well if you really know them...
  2. Welcome. I would not think it is for you. Can you not get a local independent garage that services your car to your needs / usage. You should be changing the Oil / Filter annually. But as to the Pollen filter, as it needs changed, as with the Air Filter, the Brake Fluid. the Spark Plugs. And stuff actually looked at, brakes serviced etc. The Main Dealer Servicing is not flexible enough. The prices they take for stuff not included is crazy. ? What has it had up til now, has the brake fluid, spark plugs or air filter been replaced or the pollen filter.
  3. I still have not seen or heard from anyone how many miles they actually get full to empty with the small battery or big battery New Mini Coopers so that is the E or SE. I was going to get to borrow one for a few days and hoped to get it for this weekend and take it to Banchory to spectate at the Voyonic Grampian Forest Rally but it was not available. So going with a diesel as charging is so crap in the area to take my MINI. From having short drives, the steering wheel is far too fat, the centre controls are crap and no way would i run one with 18" rims / Tyres.
  4. Victoria garage Maud if you want an away day. Proper mechanics doing proper work.
  5. So we can forget most or all of that with a 1.6 TDI.
  6. Welcome to the forum. Did it lock ok before and just stopped working, or did you get the car like this?
  7. @DAN@ADRIAN FLUX might be along saying try again. Sometimes they have ridiculous quotes. Have you looked at the Insurance section ? Chris Knott. Try the ones that say they do modified.Performance direct, Greenlight, etc etc d
  8. Good that is getting done though. There were issues back with Mk2 Fabia early on and sadly many paid out before there was ever a TPI and an issue recognised. ? Is it getting done in Inverness @Hawco?
  9. If it has a turbo and 2016 it will be a 1.2 TSI of what ever power. No Turbo with a MPI.
  10. They have to be PDI,d, and punted out, but then if Problem / Snag free then good. Renault might be better than others. As for many of the new Tech EV,s and Imports from China and elsewhere, time will tell how issue free they will be.
  11. I can not see Dealerships have enough Trained Technicians for the 22% of New EV,s in 2024 if that many do go on the roads to service and do maintenance in 2025 / 26, and then the same again and more and more year by year needing work. Time that the youngsters were getting trained up to be able to work on these cars with the new tech, or to even understand it.
  12. See where the oil is on the dip stick next when cold, engine not started. Then maybe after at least 10 miles if you have the oil at an indicated 90*oC or so check it, on the flat, engine stopped maybe 4-5 minutes. Then if it needs oil top it to the top of the cross hatch. *Cover the cross hatch have it at the top of it.* Then see from then how long it takes before needing topped up if it uses oil. 5w 30 FS III. VW504 00 /507 00 OT. Has the Haldex been services. Each 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner?
  13. @CTvrs Was the car serviced by Skoda Specialist Cars, John Clark Group Dundee before you got it? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/522251-corrosion-warranty-repair-has-rusted-again
  14. First thing. If the Check Oil came up then 0.5 litres put in was probably not enough oil. (Even if you have not put oil in the warning would have gone out after opening the bonnet.) ? When did you know there was the correct quantity / level showing of oil? ???? When was the Oil & Filter change before the warning, and when it had that service are you sure the oil level was correct? As in enough oil in! If you are running it low often the oil is worked harder. How many miles has the car done, and how long have you had it. Do you check the Oil Level with the engine oil at Normal Operating Temperature after the engine stopped a few miles.
  15. Welcome. Check out these threads maybe until someone comes along. 2 threads for the Fabia refer to the adjusters. (Dorset is in Europe.)
  16. @Warrior193 Yes, there are posts about that from 2011, an Elegance estate.
  17. A 2016 Fabia. So what engine are we talking in a Mk3 Fabia? Petrol or diesel, 1.2 TSI or 1.4 TDI. it is not a 1.9PD.
  18. It certainly is not 10 w 30. VW 504 00 / 507 00 for Fixed Service Regimes or Variable. so 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III Fixed Service Oil & Filter change intevals can be VW502 00 so 5w 40 FS.
  19. Not necessarily if you are just driving in an easy manner and getting up to speed and just getting on with a journey. Reset the Average MPG and check yourself after a bit of driving in different modes and see what it is indicating you are getting.
  20. I would if it was my thread changed the title, (Up to £46,000) as Family Sized but not big family with luggage & stuff EV,s are getting expensive. There are going to have to be many finance deals if they are going to be shifting these to people that pay for their own cars for their use and not business / lease drivers. In another 3 to 4 years 'Much Cheapness' used as nobody will be wanting to buy 2024/25 EV unless cheap.
  21. Welcome. Best drive it and see if it has enough power for your needs. Doing as many miles as you best not to get landed with something not suited. Seems to me a bit expensive for a 6 year old 1.0 MPI.
  22. @Chris40 Where are you getting this stuff from about Haldex Clutches and timing chains? Fluid and filter with a DQ381... Do not trust this below.
