the truth about electric cars
The UK Government can just tell anyone with connections to the Chinese Government to take a hike and the UK is going to compulsory purchase all they have in the UK. They can tell Sir Jim Ratcliffe to sling his hook.

the truth about electric cars
That is OK then. China does not still own or fund much of the UK,s business's, land, offshore oil and gas exploration and much else.

the truth about electric cars
Seemingly there will be a ban on Computers / Laptops / Chrome Books, Mobile / Smart phones / watches / glasses, doorbell cameras, CCTV, Facial Recognition, A1 and anything with Semi Conductors / Micro chips. Also ****s that make youtube videos are going to be banned and made to walk everyplace or ride pushbikes with fixed gears.

Help!! My Vrs is going through oil too fast.
0.4 litres per 1,000 km is not Within Spec because VW Group / Skoda says May use as much as 0.5 litres per 1,000 km. They have said that for decades for engines, petrol or diesel from 44 kW up and 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 & 12 cylinders. It could be is certain climates, and certain uses and towing etc. High Mountain Passes in high summer. Not just getting about in the UK at UK NSL,s.

What is YOUR best MPG with the DSG gearbox?
@CLB Do a near brim to near brim when doing local driving, & then on longer trips and see how many litres are actually required for the miles covered.

DSG mechatronic failure .... UK parts pricing surprise!
Good then that you have a DQ500. DQ381,s MCU,s are failing in 2020,21,22,23 & even 2024 vehicles. I have a mate that is a top Independent Autobox repairer, as used by Dealerships, but in Angus and always busy. As for who Parks of Hamilton uses, no idea if more than one place, but i would be checking out before using. ?? Had your DSG been serviced twice?

the truth about electric cars
The EU Governments & the UK let VW Group off lightly. Tail wags the dog. As far as Electrification, 1.4 TSI & now 1.5 TSI PHEV,s require for the warranty to be on Fixed Oil Change Intervals, and the 6 speed wet clutch DQ400-e DSG is on a 40,000 miles service interval. VW,s problem is more spin doctors than actual top engineers. They are scared to work for VW because the board let minions take the blame.

Spark Plugs Change Time or Mileage?
@nta16 I have. Have you seen the Body Check report for the Corrosion warranty? (That used to be a page in the service book after the Service page up to 2012) The Workshop work sheet / tick list has not even got stuff that the Website shows as part of the Servicing. They used to have Inspect & Service rear drums, and yet wheels never came off the cars, so the drums were not removed. Inspection from through the back plate!

the truth about electric cars
Lest we forget. VW Group struggled getting WLTP Certification and were late, they had to bunker cars and delay deliveries / imports. They manipulated the 1.5 TSI ACT engine Management / Software and got the WLTP Certification and buyers got cars that drove like Sh!te in many cases, manuals and automatics. Some punted them back, some just sold them, people got loan cars and eventually VW admitted issues, did a recall, a DVLA / DVSA Safety Critical recall. Some crap ones are still out there even after the Remaps. They never redid the WLTP though, they got away with 'the patch'.

DSG Click Sound
Welcome. You are putting your foot on the brake pedal to move from P to R or R,N to D are you not? ? Why are you turning off the E-brake / Parking brake, that releases automatically when you move / press the accelerator does it not? When the DSG comes out of P the Pawl is releasing that holds the car when in P. But the Parking Brake should also be holding / enabled. ? Do you have Autohold enabled?

DSG mechatronic failure .... UK parts pricing surprise!
The issue is that you are buying the not improved unit, so it is the labour cost when the replacement might be as crap as the original. Who is doing it? Or where in Scotland? Even Main Dealers can mess up fitting a MCU. Some farm it out.

DSG mechatronic failure .... UK parts pricing surprise!
@rbss Where did you hear the price of £2,700 including VAT? You can get the repair here for under £2,000 with a refurbished MCU & not a main dealer. But is it a New / Refurbished MCU that it does require. The failure rate of DQ381 MCU,s is becoming ridiculous & still VW Group seem not to be admitting Fundamental Design, Manufacturing or Material failings. A refurbished / upgraded MCU beats a Like for Like 'NEW MCU' even if there is a 2 year parts & labour warranty from Skoda / VW. ? Is it a Main Dealer doing it, and can you say who & where?

Spark Plugs Change Time or Mileage?
Large overheads, but the VAT is collected and not theirs. Small cc Skoda VW Engines have had, 2.8, 3.2, 3.6, 3.9, 4.2, 4.6 and 4.8 litres capacity and the same charge was made with the old Fixed Servicing. As were the spark plugs be it 3 or 4 cylinder. There was a while where the Fixed Price excluded 1.0 cc engines, but that did not mean all got the serving cheaper. The Old Minor / Major, then Minor or Interim & Major took the same money as a 2 year major as a @4 year major which was a nonsense as a Air Filter, Fuel Filter or spark plugs were not done at 2 years old. But then it really was 'Fixed Price' on cars 3-10 years old, but places were taking the pith. ............ It was not Customers responsible for Defeat Devices and VW cheating, or the number of recalls & TPI,s and still them having poorly built or prepped cars back in making workshops bust doing warranty work. Pre 2020. This system was flawed as far as what customers paid. A technician or fitter could decide not to fit consumables, or even check if a air filter was needed, or spark plugs yet people paid the same not to get them.

Spark Plugs Change Time or Mileage?
No idea why they get away with Defrauding HMRC / Treasury / us & the customer. They used to and apparently still take the same to supply and fit 3 spark plugs as they do for 4. 1 less plug, less labour and yet they get the cost including VAT to be the same. Customer pays 20% VAT, the store has still 1 spark plug in it that was paid for.

Spark Plugs Change Time or Mileage?
I would swerve the service plan, but also the Main Dealers, best have done by a garage what you can not do. Not these fitters at Main Dealers. Look at the Air Filter, look at the Pollen filter, get a new one, vacuum and wash the area. ? What has been done up to now, as when was the pollen filter last looked at or replaced? When do you want to do the plugs, after you get a misfire? Or @6 years if not at 5 years, or once the fuel consumption gets higher. 3 spark plugs in a 1.0 TSI, i would be having them replaced, but not at the Main Dealers Prices. Same with what they take with a pollen filter. Brake fluid change was due at 3 years then each 2. Or at least testing the brake fluid for H20. Fixed Regime, Guidelines, not accurate. But that is how it is. Confusion at the Dealers and the Importers Skoda UK.

the truth about electric cars
But, 2016 and the Euro 6 from late 2015 on there were Implausible Test Results on 1.4 TSI / TFSI VW, Audi & SEAT. Skoda were not found to be at it in the same way. You had the 1.4 TSI ACT that was a different kettle of fish. Certification. The e- Golf 1.4 TSI & Audi A3 PHEV,s had suspect test results and were discontinued. Then the only VW Group that kept the 1.4 TSI without electrification was the SEAT Alhambra as a run out model. The Non ACT 1.4 TSI in other world regions get the 8 speed Auto and the WLTP does not matter there. Part of the World, just not World Wide Harmonisation crap.

So I went and bought a Maserati
Wrong wheel for fitment and damn heavy. Luckily not one like this BMW EV has. EDIT, got correct wheel. £262 delivered.

the truth about electric cars
Well there is NISSAN obviously, ICE, Hybrid & the BEV,s are seemingly a major part of their future. There is BMW / MINI even though the electric cars will not be built in the UK for maybe another couple of years. JLR. Toyota & Vauxhall. Lots of their vehicles built in the UK are for export. @Winston_Woof Do you just mean British Owned. British money and directors and owners building British for British People & roads? Investindustry own the majority of Morgan and the Family have a minority holding?
-
1.5 tsi act dsg
Because a FWD 1.5 TSI ACT has a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. I just know this stuff because i do not work at Skoda Dealers Service Desks. .................. This is fixed service regime. & not accurate, as you see now by Cam Belt & DSG.
-
1.5 tsi act dsg
This is the thing with a Full Skoda History, or Full Main Dealer Service History. It can be a History of them not doing things according to a Skoda Schedule. Not a Full History of everything getting done as per a Skoda Schedule.
-
1.5 tsi act dsg
Not if the car is a FWD with a 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG. a DQ200. (There are 2 oils. in the MCU and in the box.) If it was to have a 7 speed Wet Clutch DSG a DQ381 that would be @ 80,000 miles but i would not leave it that long. (& there is a filter to change,) ? Did Parks of Hamilton say @ 40,000 miles?
