Recent safety recall 47u5 [heat protection mat]
The Recall when a DVLA Safety Critical one will or should appear on the DVLA MOT check site. (Supposedly i read, i did read the supposedly is them, the DfT or DVSA want it compulsory recalls are done pre MOT,s) Each new Registered Keeper that get a car with an Outstanding Recall, should be getting the Letter as long as the Recall Action is not flagged as carried out. The Skoda / VW Recall Actions are a different kettle of worms. (For catching Phish, they are p!ss) There are even Skoda Approved Used cars that get handed over without actions carried out. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-campaigns As to the Safety Critical Recalls. Proper ones where the DVLA give VW Group the registered keepers details and then it might be months before Main Dealers can do the Workshop Action. The DfT should tell Skoda / VW etc. No more PDI,s or deliveries of new cars or used vehicles until you clear your backlog of RECALL work, & Warranty Work where they have put out cars knowing there are issues and are going to sort out later. When it was Fines / Penalties maybe coming their way with the Defeat Device Scandal and The Fix they got Mobile Techs out and about. Just as they should do with most Recalls now where the workshop visit is not required. Visual check and an easy FIX.

Recent safety recall 47u5 [heat protection mat]
Simples. The Manufacturers Warranty if you have valid one requires you to act when there are Recalls. VW Group forget that when they mess up they should pay the Cars Keeper the hourly rate dealerships usually charge to do work to the person taking the car in. Or minimum their fuel cost and they can pay for the next Dealership Service. VW Penny / Euro / Cent pinch time after time and it is always the customer inconvenienced, or baring the expense of them being at it.

EV real world range and cost to charge
It costs the same or more now public charging. 'The Evangelists'. WTF. This guff is just people that give their opinion or experience just like those 'Anti,s' Like those banging on about there ICE just fill up and go. There is charger rage. & There are EV Drivers that never have issues. @domhnall gets on easily and has no hassles.

EV real world range and cost to charge
I am probably the most Off Topic member on here, but we are well Off Topic from this thread on EV,s range and cost. ANPR at Charging Hubs seems like 'Simples' count them arriving and give them a number in the queue so they know their turn to move in. Then like at the Swimming baths when i was young and you got a rubber wrist band for the locker key, when time was up the guy shouted BLUE. It would be lovely with the Subscriptions and Tariffs and Peak Times etc if you could like with TESLA Superchargers you just plug in and the car does a Handshake and charging starts. & if you are just wanting to pay as you go you pay as you go. Be that tap a card, watch or vouchers you purchased / topped up like a 'Mobile Phone card'. Posted before. But just tells it as it pretty much is. Location location location. Postcode Lottery. The Social Divide. Home charging, Public Charging, Business Users vs Private individuals. People are all different, income levels and vehicles, choice or not having a choice what they drive because they are given a car for work or maybe can not afford a car. Maybe still hire, borrow, car clubs etc.

Oil - Quantum Platinum for servicing ?
The correct oil for fixed oil serviced on the TSI from 2014 is to VW 502 00 so usually 5w 40 FS. Ok for the Citigo as well which is only Fixed services. For long life oil and fixed or Variable on the TSI and for the Citigo fixed it is to VW 5w 30 FS III. Maybe even 0w 30 FS III if you choose.. I would not use 10w 40. What spec is it???

mpg
^^^ Running Leaded petrol of whatever grade and getting oil changes at a lot less miles than most of them these days. (Cheaper though.) Spark Plugs replaced more often with some, but again at 'much cheapness' compared to now.

EV real world range and cost to charge
My CPS Account will be due a payment soon. This is likely the last time it will as good as it will be because there will be none of the chargers i use free to anymore, there was a couple sessions on here that were. Otherwise it was 59 pence a kWh and one session at 55 pence. This will have actually given me near 300 miles from the electricity received.

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
@ken2 The issue is that 'They do not all do it', only the ones that do do. So no point going with the same old that Skoda Dealership Staff might spout 'They all do that', because if they do the DfT / DVSA better get VW Group doing a safety critical recall. & resolve the fault as they had to with the 'Lack of torque recall'. The other Dealership rubbish from some is 'Never heard of that before', so be sure your issue is logged and with Skoda / VW UK, and with DVSA. There are contacts for them when there are safety concerns.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Wonderful. 41.3 Million registered vehicles on the UK roads (And sitting on forecourts / in garages, SORNED) and then foreign vehicles and the same vehicles being logged by ANPRs multiple times each day. They need to send police around more often to those not showing registered keepers etc. All they need are more police or enforcement officers clamping and lifting vehicles. 'Nationally'.

EV real world range and cost to charge
It is amazing, bus lane cameras, Yellow grid cross hatch, traffic light cameras and ANPR, Speed Cameras. Just no system that has all cars Registered being current to any particular person just someone sometime & no way to know who the driver is or if holding a driving licence. Then illegal in the UK e-Bikes and moped. / Scooters etc bombing about. So as long as there are Police or Road Enforcers stopping and clamping vehicles moving around or parked then what is all the roadside gear really for? They must start someplace obviously. Maybe with Fast Food deliveries and no insurance cover for that. But then they do not in many places.

EV real world range and cost to charge
The UK Government & devolved Governments, Authorities and Agencies are crap. IT is crap and unreliable, & the DVLA / DfT is not fit for purpose just like the HMRC. So really if they Cities can not get chancers off the roads, illegal vehicles then out in much of the countryside and maybe towns villages and islands it will be the same old same old for a long time to come.

Where do I find my cars service history
You want to know more than 'Oil & Inspection' & Extended Scope @ 3 years. Like any Extras showing. Your DSG DQ200 is not due a Oil change at 40,000 or 80,000 miles. They dropped the Cam belt at 5 years / 50,000 miles from the UK Schedule. (last July)

Trusted traders. Or local Motor Factors where if it looks wrong take it back, or just do not take it. http://opieoils.co.uk

OK, so what is a the major service you speak of or going to a mechanic. It is the DPF issue that you need addressed. Skoda UK,s Main Dealer Servicing is not much these days & was not when it was Minor & Major Servicing, at 10 year old go by how you use or abuse it.
-
Deisel Particulte filter
Welcome . No idea about the PDF, but someone will be along. If you know what you are doing you need to do a MAJOR Inspection and see what needs Servicing & Maintenance. Do the brakes need stripping / cleaning / serviced, the brake fluid, are the wiper, tyres etc OK. Suspension all good etc. Coolant a good strength. So basically a Proper Major Service over and above oil & filter. Maybe the cambelt is OK, water pump. Maybe already replaced.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Once all the old cars and vehicles are off the roads maybe new ones can have iris / biometric identification like with passports and drivers of vehicles will have their eye checked before a vehicle starts. It might as well read passengers eyes as well and then if any authorities need to know who was where or going places it is all there on record. On Public Transport as well, at public service places, NHS etc. Take back control. Count them in and count them out. As into and out of the country. Know who is due to pay some taxes while living in or visiting the UK and using the public infrastructure. No pay, then no access or facilities funded by the public. Obviously allow the walking of public pavements for free.

Buying a new Enyaq
Any Manufacturers with BEV,s selling in the UK might have to slash the prices of them at different periods of time or Loan / lease them out cheap to have enough First Registrations in the year for the percentage of Zero Emission vehicles required, and also for the Average UK Fleet Emissions. It might be their Partners that they use that dump vehicles cheaper rather than their own brand, like where they have not enough of their own BEV,s to supply.

the truth about electric cars
I spotted a few of the biggest KIA EV,s *EV9* in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire yesterday. Daylight and you can not miss those DRL,s from afar. What a monster of a vehicle even among other monsters with one occupant. The driver. PS All around the world are parcels, containers and luggage and passengers moving with the use of Barcodes, biometrics etc, even micro-chips. People are paying with cards, apps, watches, micro-chips implanted, even cash money sometimes. Where CASH is accepted.

EV real world range and cost to charge
The whole country of England is that? House of commons this week Rural Mobile coverage in the UK: Not-spots and partial Not-Spots. Google that. Or the reports on EV charger issues and Sim Cards and mobile connections, RIFD or Contactless. Then If only ANPR was everyplace these days, or good Digital Services, radio reception etc. But it might be in much of England. London might be going G5 as parts of the UK have not got G4 yet. So anyway. Sim cards issued to Business Users for their vehicles is a simple starter for 10, then Bar Codes Issued, from Insurers, or with MOT,s or put on at a PDI and required to be read at fuel stations, charger or whatever will do. ANPR at bridges, tunnels and just various roadsides that are tied into HMRC & the Borders Agency etc will be fine. Some is there and lots is not. But then we still do not have compulsory ID cards in the UK but you need ID to go vote. They like taking back control, but it is a post code lottery.

Fabia 2013 Amber Oil Light Issue
Welcome. That is correct on the bonnet opening. So it is the Yellow Oil can showing Low Oil, not Low oil pressure which is the Red Oil can. Is that Oil Level fine when checked hot, up near the top of the crosshatch, and fine when checked cold, maybe a bit higher? ? When was the OIl & Filter changed last? Has anything changed recently other than the Warning Light?

the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper Motability have bought a good few thousands of the cars first registered in the UK this year and will through the years and a bit less than 1/3 of those they own will be back into the Motor Trade this year via BCA. They have a lots of the cars in the top ten sellers, and a growing number of BEV,s in the fleet because the advance payments are so low. Chargers installed etc where those getting an EV can have them.

the truth about electric cars
Puma,s Mild Hybrids. Ford First Registering many as usual, as VW Group do. How they manipulate the UK market & always have done. Fleet Average Co2 UK important to them. Because get it wrong and every car sold costs them so much. Minis including the Electric that is on Clearance. Vauxhall Mokka BEV,s included. Video launched an hour ago. Cybertruk recall because pedal covers might come off a stick to the interior trim.
