Skoda servicing
^^^ That is some mark up for the supply and fitting of OEM parts while a Service is already being paid for. The *Free wash and vacuum* can take longer than the actual Servicing & Maintenance. BE SURE THE BODY INSPECTION IS DONE. This is for the Corrosion Warranty. For when Skoda / VW UK say no record of being carried out. That is because the T&C,s of the Warranty dio not say, Annual, bi-annual or periodic inspections are required. Service Books used to have a page after he service page for the Inspection though. So up to about 2011. It was after each Major Service. Cars should be handed in clean so the Tech / Fitter can check the Body for damage / repairs, and the Desk staff can check the car when you hand in the keys. Checking rims as well. How often does that Happen? It did at Skoda Specialist Cars Dundee. The Car Wash should then be after that and before the Service. How often does that happen, or after a road test. A road test is not driving the car from where parked into the workshop and ramp.

Roomster re map
@J.R. What hardware changes are done with a 2.0TDI when you are putting a Celtic Tuning Stage 3 Map / Engine management on the ECU? What is the uping in BHP / Nm that you get from a stage 1, or a 2 or a stage 3. PS Re 1.2 TDI,s. Some were the first VW engines to get The Fix, and were really messed up. The 1.6 TDI fix was delayed. Air Flow device & Software. As it turns out, there were those that took in 1.2 TDI,s or asked about The Fix and said not required even though they showed on the VIN Checker and they got a letter. There were ones that were never done but maybe the Dealership was paid when the VIN checker changed to not required.

Skoda servicing
@jam1 Which Skoda website have you seen with Spark Plugs to be replaced at 37,000 miles / or 4 years? With Audi they had stuff due at 38,000 miles, like S-tronic oil changes. (Even DQ200,s with not servicing.) The Difference often with VW & 9,300, Audi with 9,600 or Skoda with 9,400 for annual fixed service regimes is the km to miles which the Germans / Czech can it agree on stuff like 30,000 km is 18,641 miles. 15,000 km is 9,320 miles. UK Dealerships will often Print on invoices or put a sticker on cars. Next service 10,000 miles. The UK was only ever EU light, semi metric.

The published Fixed Service regime is Advice, suggestions, guidlines. It even is at odds with Variable / Flexible servicing which might be each 2 years / 24,000 months as the OP might have been having done. The Bottom Fixed Menu as was up to 2019 was cars 3-10 years old, and should not have been what people were charged for a first Major Service at 2 years as the Spark Plugs were not replaced. Many were charged for stuff and they were not replaced. Odd that, the same labour or less, less parts and yet the same VAT was being taken. Take VAT have the parts still and not pay the VAT to the HMRC. *ASk swhat is being done for your money. If there is a Service Plan it is not good enough for the Dealership Staff to say too early to replace something, after all how long is it untill ithey do get checked or replaced. The 6 year / 60,000 mile Air Filter is ridiculous, they should be inspected at every service.

Correct usage of DSG shift stick
The car should be stopped and the foot firmly on the foot brake. The Hand / Parking Brake does not need to be applied before selecting P. Many vehicles have an E-brake now and it might not be applied before the shifter is in to P.

Potential Purchases, Questions?
Well suited to the 1.0 TSI much as with 1.2 TSI.s. 60 /69, 75, 95, 105, 110, 113,115, 130 ps. Even the 140 ps or 150 PS 1.4 TSI,s are pretty reliable. The issues were started pretty much when VW used them with 160 ps and then 180 PS engines. Still all no more than 250 Nm

Head lights
The dummy blue bulbs that are in where the sidelight bulbs would have been will not help light things up better than the dipped beam or full beam that is in the headlight. @UrbanPanzer has a thread with them back as sidelights. There are no Front Fog lights. The low units are the DRL,s when no headlight on and when on they are dimmer and are the Sidelights / position lights. In the Fabia section are threads on failing MOT,s because testers think the Dummy Blue bulb place should have sidelights working there.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
The UK Government love Fuel Security. As Refineries close in the UK. Nothing much is owned by companies that are British. As for INEOS. Sir Jim Rattcliffe and his backers will do what they want when they want and they will have 'Grangemouth' anyway they want it to be regardless of who is in Government.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
Who owns what these days is something that they are not always wanting made public in these days of GREEN Washing. Oil & Gas Companies owning Wind & Solar and renewables, &the likes of Qatar,s share in the Volkswagen Group.

Heating issue (?)
@Sanqhar While you do not switch off the AC the car inhibits it / stops it operating when the ambient temp is at 3*oC and lower. ...................... As to interior temps. Just to maybe reduce moans from passengers. 'Simply clever' is to have a Thermometer in the car and actually see what temperature the centre of the cabin does reach in comparison to the temperature requested on the dash. Reading temps at the vents is not that relevant really if it is Climatronic. . @Karoq I take it you mean 'Any ICE car'. BEV,s have Coolant, but that is not what can put heat into the cabin before the car has even started moving. & That is without the car being on a charger. The issue now is with petrols that getting the Cat & GPF operating efficiently is more important for the Manufacturers & the WLTP / RDE2 than the comfort of occupants of the vehicles.

E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
@nta16 You only quoted part of the line posted. The important bit was the ESSO & Greenergy. They do not supply ESSO in all regions of the UK. Or did not, which is why the Ethanol content can be different.
-
E10 petrol vs E5 petrol
@nta16 To be honest i have no idea where they are now as far as Tesco PLC, as in who the are as far as Owners, Shareholders, Partners or investors and how Greenergy work with Royal Dutch Shell as partners in importation and storage of base fuel.

De carbonising
@LuxoviaRS I would investigate and take 7 years doing it while you have a manufacturers warranty & maybe when that has expired get in the Professional.

Kodiaq RS sound actuator

Kodiaq RS sound actuator

Kodiaq RS sound actuator
I have no idea what is what with either engine and sound actuators but the OP posted asking about a diesel and then the petrol,s came out. @linni will know having had both.

intermittent EMC warning light - P04F000 EVAP - what to do?
Since it is a 1.0 TSI and now 4 years old or getting on for that it might be relevant that the spark plugs might need looking at. Just from a recent thread on a low mileage 1.0 TSI at 4 years old.

Kodiaq RS sound actuator
@simonds3135 What age of Kodiaq vRS are you asking about and a diesel or petrol?

Driving mode
Impossible then unless repeating trips pretty much and using different modes and 'Coasting' or not coasting. The usual way is to brim the tank and do the trip and then brim it and see how many litres are needed, and do that for similar and dis-similar trips, weather, seasons and see what you can see.

intermittent EMC warning light - P04F000 EVAP - what to do?
Welcome to the forum. ? What engines does your Karoq have. Was the Mechanic or was that a Technician or a Fitter able to actually diagnose anything or suggest a resolution, or do they need a machine to tell them and it didn't?

De carbonising
Lovely 100 & 100+ Winter grades in Europe for not silly prices. In Italy near the factories and test tracks 102 ron Shell Pump fuel. This allowed the misleading Shell v-power advert with F1 cars. I used to run 102 ron Carless Hiperflo 250 for special occasions in my Twinchargers. Double the price of Tesco Momentum 99, but then man maths has me working that out as much the same as running a 12 mpg car. I used to run LPG V8,s on LPG and that was half the cost of petrol but obviously used more litres, but not double and LPG is 100 + octane.

^^^ Lovely leaded petrol. & when i worked on the Petrol pumps we charged 5 pence a shot for Redex. That extra pocket money bough my petrol for my moped. You will not see a 91 ron fuel in the UK, but you will see cars that had that as a min ron they could use on the Fuel Flap, VW being Global. VW engines in some World Regions in the Likes of a Golf GTI, Poloi GTI are de-tunes for the fuels. eg, that might be in North America , South Africa. Fuel, altitude, ambient temps. It is over a decade since anybody sold 98 ron min petrol in the UK. *The VW Website was never updated from the 98 ron, or the sticker on the fuel flap.* Shell went 99 ron Min following Tesco Momentum 99 and BP went 97 the came as others. Costco has been 97 and 99. Esso was 97 and is now 99. We used to buy 102 ron BP pump fuel in Fife an Edinburgh which was great for Knockhill, Crail, etc. @Winston_Woof i have linked that video several times and also the tuning / dyno vid. The thing is the Formulation and Bio-Ethanol content does change for the Summer & Winter Spec petrol and Winter spec is first distributed each winter in Scotland and the north of England. The UK often has Winter spec petrol past March as European Winter fuel is bought and imported later, also from the USA. Green flap, VW Sirocco. Red. Fabia mk2 vRS 1.4 TSI Twincharger. Black. As on most EU/European Skoda petrols.
