  1. @Nigel07 Surely (Shirley) you are not accepting Skoda UK / VW UK or what ever employee of them or their contractor just washing their hand of a fault. DM Keith's Master Tech and Dealer Principal acting as your agent should be on the case of your Warranty claim. The Dealership is at it i suspect. Do you have copies of the communications between the Dealership & Skoda and a Communications or Resolution Manager? It is Citizens Advice and a Solicitor that you need. This crowd that are the contractors are a joke. Deal with SKODA UK Executives not some muppet that says 'we say no' the computer says no.
  2. OK, so you do not need an engine, the H20 never went in the Air Intake and the engines not gubbed. Too many idiots never think of the dirty water or sea / salt water and alternator, starter and what pushing through that water can and does do to some. Or the gearboxes or diffs. The EV,s built for Offroading or use in adverse conditions will be built with wading expected.
  3. You are up the wrong dreel!
  4. They are just transport. Flash the cash and drive comfortably.
  5. Long term now through Winter months, possibly colder weather, so not really the same as the past 6 months. Winter spec petrol now even in the southern parts of the UK being served at filling stations. Maybe actually a slightly better octane than the summer formulation of the E5 97 / 99 ron min, or even the E10 95 ron min. Formulated to be less hygroscopic, and that might mean less or nil ethanol or other ingredients. The fuel should certainly not provide less energy as that is what you pay for.
  6. A d!ck head near me must have decided not to take their Tesla out when the roads were wet so just parked it in the charging bay for many hours plugged in and no longer charging. Others seem to be getting around perfectly well.
  7. @Fanty111 Did they used to work in the time you have had the car? No idea about the switch on the door of your car but on Mk2 Fabia vRS the position for the heated mirrors could go to the wrong position, not where the dot was.
  8. The silence is deafening on the gentleman that was 'Kidnapped' by the MG EV that held 30 mph until slowing to 15 mph for a roundabout then having to crash into the back of a police van stop stop the MG but with no visible front damage to the MG. Maybe there was to the police vans rear. As to the £17,000 replacement battery for the Tesla, maybe solicitors are dealing with that one.
  9. The OP has a 2023 Octavia iV PHEV. Lovely to reminisce on the good old / bad old days but really he / she will find out soon enough what he needs to be using in Scotland this fine Winter to be comfortable and see out the windows.
  10. @Hairy_JoeYou seem to have missed the point of Autohold, it holds the brakes on with no foot on the brake pedal. @mccririckDrive what you are driving the way it suits you. So a iV PHEV DSG. Which is different from a TSI or TDI DSG. Remember your Highway code and not sitting ages with the rear brake lights on to the annoyance of others, sadly the 'Autohold' does have the brake lights on, hence all those sitting in gridlock on the A720 City By-pass with brake lights on and them going no place. It was not always the case that Autohold had all VW Group cars with the brake lights on.
  11. 'Climate Control etc, & Air Conditioning. Not just refrigeration. Many vehicles designed and built in Central or Eastern Europe are damn hopeless at demisting, and yet there are manufacturers very good at it and it does not even have to be expensive cars, even ones without AC.
  12. The problem is a muppet that would drive to Scotland to test tyres on the Snow Roads to the Ski Resorts and not first just look at the Webcams at Glenshee, Cairngorm or Lecht and see what things were like. & remember Covid at that time.
  13. The tests are so so. For the UK it is the driver that needs to be thinking of where and when they drive and their weather. Floods with Storm Ciaran this week for some in the South and the winter might or might not have frosts / ice / Snow, or the roads always get treated. Parts of the North snow through into Thursday following torrential rain and between now and April their might be a heat wave or at least some time of cracking weather.
  14. 'Full Service' confuses me. So as well as Oil & Filter & visual inspection was that the Air, Pollen and Fuel filters replaced, the brakes stripped and cleaned and the brake fluid changed. hinges and locks lubricated etc etc. Full servicing, maybe even Cam Belt replaced?
  15. Welcome. Which of the faults was it that your car had & how did you resolve the judder?
  16. Run a couple of tanks of Premium Diesel then from BP or Shell but if there is a Gulf filling station try the Super Diesel they have. When was the Air filter last looked at, and the Fuel filter replaced? It will maybe have it smoke a bit then maybe even then running better.
  17. @GabboHas he made it to CEO of any car manufacturer yet? That will be why Skoda will be doing an Octavia Estate sized one then, someone has to provide for the limited market what there are people wanting. The MG estates sell / lease well. Plenty need small light commercial EV,s and Estate cars can do that job perfectly well then there is the usual Superb estate customers, Airport Transport that need catered for.
  18. There is a simple reason for Enyaq & other VW Group BEV,s sitting waiting for owners and to be first registered in the UK, and Mild Hybtrids and PHEV,s . Average fleet Co2 in the UK and getting the lower or nil emission vehicles firt registered so that higher emission ones can get sold and first registered without VW UK being fined on every vehicle. Next year a higher percentage of EV,s will need to be registered and VW Group require their Partners in China to get more MG,s registered to save them because VW Group are not producing and importing enough EV,s and not smaller / less expensive ones. *MG sell a proper EV Estate car.* VW, SEAT, Skoda & Audi could have very easily long before now.
  19. Aquaplaning. It might cope with a bit of water, once in it, but hitting deeper water from a wet or dry road and not knowing how deep or the camber of the road is slow down time. But then the OP knows that now so might well check tyre pressures, or change tyres but still need to slow down. & no CC or ACC when there is adverse weather / road conditions. Is it something weird to get rain or winter all the time. Maybe a driver who is learning or just in their first year might get caught out, but surely not experienced drivers. Soon we get the cars steaming up, freezing inside, what windscreen wash, my locks are freezing, how do i open the filler flap threads?
  20. It looked very much like they did.
  21. Toyota Yaris or Honda Jazz, maybe a Suzuki Swift. WTF with a Tesla? Is she good with touch screens using her left hand. A Vauxhall Corsa Electric is much cheapness if she can plug the car in to charge. or just a Corsa ICE.
  22. Wide tyres. Anything can aquaplane even with wet weather tyres and all season / winter / snow tyres might make no difference. Old Fiests, Micra, Picanto etc on 175 / 185 tyres might just plough through water logged roads even though light cars.
  23. I posted the video a month back in this thread with the Tesla getting a petrol engine fitted and being taken in for an oil change. Pranksters.
  24. Have you been given the paper work for a 2 year peace of mind guarantee on the VW Voluntary Recall new engine management not causing failures with your car?
  25. Welcome. Someone that knows about this stuff will be along hopefully. What possessed you to go have the Fix done on your car if it was not done in the past 6 years?
