Oil and Service light early?
They never reset the Oil Service indicator then @ 60,000 miles. If the correct oil was used which was VW504 00 / 507 00 so 5w 30 FS III it is long life oil so ok for 24 months, 18,000-20,000 miles. It needs plugged in to reset unless someone knows better.

When part of the PSA Group then & before Stallantis took them over. Not that that made much difference.

Judge Judy would tell you, 'borrow from' not lend from someone, you lend to someone and Nissan are not lending to the Government of Japan.

Oil and Service light early?
Had this car done 20,000 miles a year then, so on Variable Servicing as it will have left the factory? Was this 60,000 miles the 4th Oil change? There is no Inspection Service, that should be just set as at the same time as the Oil Service. That is a OIl & Inspection SErvice. So if fixed regime @ 372 days /9,400 miles. If on Flexible 24 months, 18,000-20,000 miles, & not with an 'Inspection service' at 12 months. What engine have you got? If the Garage has the equipment to plug in and know how to use it they can set whatever they need to, and if they can not then really best not use them. No idea what you think the Skoda Schedule is, other than Fixed or Variable / Flexible service intervals. (There is no Inspection.) ...................... The 3rd down chart is how it used to be, and the bottom one their idea of fixed servicing. Not all DSG,s are at 40,000, some are no oil changes and some are at 80,000 and none are @ 4 years they are by miles.

Kamiq DSG shudder
Nothing can be replaced until properly diagnosed so it looks like you are going to have to have someplace other than where you are going do that. With a new car and nothing showing with their Technicians checks and road tests you are kind of stuffed for now, but at least your concerns are on record with Skoda or should be. You will get the repair if a repair is required, it is just a shame you have this from your new car.

the truth about electric cars
If the papers today are reporting fact then Nissan is not building ICE vehicles from 2030. Is this in the UK / EU? The video yesterday posted on the Tesla Y had the Motoring Journalist say something funny about not being able to build ICE vehicles from 2030 being pushed back to 2035. There was / is nothing against Building them for Export, it is about First Registering them in the UK from 2030 and for the time being the Tory Government saying it will now be 2035. The UK manufacturers like Rolls Royce / Bentley, Nissan, MINI, JLR, Stellantis manufacture cars / vans for other world regions / countries.

the truth about electric cars
Mony a mickle maks a muckle. Drip drip drip. The rules / legislation on First Registrations and emissions are coming in for the manufacturers in the UK and in the EU so someone will be able to do the calculations. It hardly matters anyway, as Que sera sera. The car manufacturers or some of them seem pretty peed off right now by the whole set up and messing up their planning or lack of planning. The UK could have several changes of Government before 2035 & world events.

Karoq 1.6 tdi DSG - ignition key can be removed when the car is not in P position
So just to be clear, you can stop the car, turn off the ignition so stop the car in R, D or S and the key can be taken out the ignition. No need for it to be in N or P? When you put the key back in the the selector where you left it what do you do?

the truth about electric cars
I can not get the MINI to understand what i am asking the Sat Nav so i ask the Phone on Waze to direct me. When i input into the MINI,s inbuilt Sat Nav it is absolutely hopeless. The 'i'drive works and the buttons around it work fine for what i need. ........... The synthetic fuels need a lot of Electricity & fuels can be produced from crops. but people are starving or produce it from waste products from crops and human ^ animal waste. Using waste like Electricity that can be generated and needs stored to produce hydrogen is simple. Using carbon from production like making drinks or industrial products to then produce hydrogen to use in manufacturing is simply clever as well and happens. Paying for Fuel / Electricity is 'Tax per mile' if there is Duty / VAT on it, and if you want to pay less per mile then have a more efficient vehicle. Tax the vehicles for days on the road be them driving or parked, that happens now. Tax by length & weight of them, driving / parked.

the truth about electric cars
Personally i can not be doing with them. I do not always want my phone with me & when in the car i am hopeless using my left hand to use touch screens. Horses for courses and it is good there are choices within EV,s just as there are with ICE vehicles. There are going to be a very large number of used TESLA available just as there will be with other manufacturers vehicles. I am even crap driving and stretching a finger far left to get a button when driving a right hand drive car that has the various stuff to suit a left hand drive car other then the steering wheel moved to the other side. Lane keep assist has saved me a few times for crashing, burning or just kerbing a wheel. I do not have that anymore but then i do not need to use a touch screen either when driving my daily.

Armoured Superbs.
They have come up for sale at auction before and they have been seized from organised crime outfits. In Scotland and i would imagine elsewhere in the UK there are gangster that have their own ones built in their local friendly body / chop shops. Handy when you are Car Traders with Garages / MOT Centres etc, and there are plenty of people that worked at the places that built the Armoured vehicles in Scotland. Penman that built and converted armoured vehicles in Scotland was in Administration but was saved as were jobs.

How fantastic it would have been if the chargers here beside the Queensferry Crossing & Transport Scotland,s / National Control Centre had not been out of commission for more than a year to the public.

engine light
You will not know until the fault codes are read. & the bonnet is up and someone that has an idea casts an eye over it. It can be about emissions and it could have been the fuel, it could actually have been misfires, so plugs / ignition coils. So did the light just come on out of the blue, all normal normally. serviced and not sitting idling for ages. How many miles has it done and when were the spark plugs changed and is it E10 or E 5 petrol you run? It could be nothing much, but you need fault codes read and also give people a clue if asking 'how long is a piece of string?

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
I thought i had found someone using a MINI EV for motorsport & i was looking forward to seeing the mods, and was ready to watch how it went, but no follow up from his first vid. I used to do Autotests with a Mini 1.0 Automatic and the likes of a Justy CVT, a Micra CVT, a Saxo 1.4 Automatic and even a Kia Picanto Automatic. All these had a hand brake, fly-off hand brake and sometimes a line lock & really with an e-brake i have never tried doing anything like what i did with these other than on snow. EDIT. Found his follow up. @lol-loli found eventually this on the MINI Cooper SE Race Car. No idea why they put the duff stuff on the same power as the road car when they are 181 bhp / 184 ps / 135 kW. EDIT. I got a reply, "The R56 Electric model had 150 kW / 201 bhp electric motor whereas the F56 181 HP / 184 PS / 135 kW." So now i know. It was 2010 that it did the Nurburgring.

The Top Gear Yeti
Apparently not when it comes to DQ381,s but we find out about things over 5 year old after 5 years have passed, maybe the DQ200,s are now a bit less risky since 2018. Vorsprung Durch Technik runs into problems when the Management penny pinch and spend more on promoting future models than actual R&D or addressing faults and snagging issues.

I had a wee shoot up and down a nice secluded Glen devoid of traffic, walkers, cyclists or animals wandering onto the road. Warm, damp and a bit loose surfaces in places and tight corners. Well with the Traction Control / Dynamic control in the 3 available setting i can say with certainty it will stay on the default setting until i try again on snow or a track / large space with nothing to hit. The all season tyres and lack of electronic assistance gave a few moments of squeaky bum time. Better just to proceed in a safe manner and let the car do a bit of controlling the wheel spin now that i am very much less than a driving god. 4 miles to the kWh for 30 miles with a bit of playing about is OK IMO. The Brake discs & calipers have not even the slightest of corrosion showing and i hardly touch the brake pedal. The Corsa electric,s brakes had started rusting within days of using it. I really might need to put on mud flaps but i need to see how it is when there is now and how it clears out of the arches or if it builds up and freezes in big lumps of ice.

Newbie Oil Question
Maybe it will not, but if you have a TSI that is a keeper then you decide. Maybe use 0w 30 FS III. (Still long life.) The 1.4 TSI or TSI ACT can use VW502 00 for Fixed Oil & Service Regimes. VW 504 00 / 507 00 so 5w 30 FS III as the recommended oil in Euro 5 1.4 TSI Twinchargers or some 1.8 / 2.0 TSI,s was OK if the engine was not crap, and when it was not using Long Life oil and going VW502 00 so 5W 40 FS saved some from high oil use and let them keep running their keepers.

The Top Gear Yeti
You should have maybe bothered to find out that a FWD 1.5 TSI would have a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG and a AWD or a 2.0 would not but it would be a 7 speed.

the truth about electric cars
Emergency Services in Scotland, Local Authorities, Utility Companies and others have lots of EV,s along with Hire companies then businesses and private individuals. Public and commercial and private chargers / facilities. For a small country with a high EV use per capita it should be very easy to be compiling information on everything regarding EV,s. While there is an issue with the roll out of Public Chargers that is not just ones from Local Authorities / Councils and Administered by CPS. There are Commercial Sites / Hubs built and ready to get connected and powered up and they can not get the connections done by the Energy Companies or their contractors. It is more Commercial Chargers that are required because these have been held back while there was Free or Cheap Council chargers which many of are unreliable or no longer in service and where there are newer ones they are no longer cheap. .................. There was yet another EV Rally Scotland recently. It pees me off with the kidology of that when the Maintenance are at the stops / chargers to be sure they are in service before the event (ones that normally might be out of service for days or weeks) and that some on the event get to use Council Facilities that are normally not available to the public, and which get opened out of normal hours for that yard to let participants charge. Part of the con between Transport for Scotland and the Event Organisers and whoever. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Passing by in Long range cars which need not charge at locations with only one Rapid charger which often does not work proves very little about what living in that area and having to public charge or even visiting or travelling is about. 2021. Just a Con, pure and simple. ....................

the truth about electric cars
In Scotland statistics should be easy to compile since there is one Fire Brigade, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.& one police force, Police Scotland. Not that any figures from Police Scotland are likely to be accurate or joined up to anything The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have. One has to go with what figures are available and in Scotland you can be sure one or other Political Party will be scrutinising them to prove or disprove point, and that will include Politicians not in Scotland and their friendly media.
