the truth about electric cars
It will be years i suppose before the 150 miles or less from Chelmsford to Birmingham is not a desert for EV ultra rapid chargers with 100 / 100 + kW and people able to travel that empty wasteland with more than a 30-40 minute stop.

Octavia VRS Petrol 180kw 7 speed DSG Dry or Wet
@Tellster You don have a DQ200 DSG with no service intervals. Because no 2.0 TSI or TDI has these, and even a 1.4 TSI PHEV does not.

Who used a Tesla charger for free?
OT, I went and tried the Dundee Tesla supercharger with a non-Tesla for a nice price just as a try out for charging in Aviemore with a non-Tesla. Good Tariffs. http://tesla.com/en_gb/support/non-tesla-supercharging

the truth about electric cars
I had cars that showed over 800 miles range and i might drive 450 miles without much stopping, then drive again and top up, a couple of times a month. I managed to do the same with a car with a 45 kWh usable battery, and for much cheapness. It is quite a while since i did 800 mile non stop drives.

DSG DQ200 Flashing Gear and Spanner indicator
The Flashing Spanner with the DQ200 did not and does not mean a service required. (You do get flashing spanner service warnings which is why Dealership staff got things badly wrong.) Sadly there were owners that were told that to their cost / expense, by people that should have known better, or tried to find out. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/446780-vrs-dsg-fault

the truth about electric cars
Exactly. As for believe, and actual, and leasing / renting a car and needing to get places with a car with a 30-50 kWh battery you might well go to 98% when you want, maybe with AC and not DC, but driving actual distances you might well want more than 80 miles before the next charge. If you only go short distances, charge regularly and do not need more than maybe 80 miles or 60 miles in cold weather then 80% is plenty.

Octavia VRS Petrol 180kw 7 speed DSG Dry or Wet
Simples. No 2.0 TSI or TDI has a DQ200 DSG 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. (Kodiaq 1.4 TSI ACT does not have a DQ200) They are fitted to FWD , so 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 TSI or a 1.2 or 1.6 TDI. 250 Nm or less and 180 ps with a Skoda, 192 ps with a VW that get a DQ200 DSG. 7 Speed wets are the norm now. 6 speed only with a PHEV i believe. DQ400-e We are talking EU / UK here though. DQ381 7 speed DSG has a 80,000 mile service interval. I would not leave them that long.

the truth about electric cars
I was talking just now to a couple with not a clue about EV,s and they are traveling lots and paying Tesco Podpoint prices to charge and only to 80% any time because their Vauxhall is set to only charge to 80%. They have no home charger, no CPS account and no idea how to use them. This kind of thing is not unusual and this is costing then double what driving a petrol would cost them.

the truth about electric cars
Someone has to provide the Public Charging and for these companies with Drivers who are self employed but with the EV,s the companies own. These businesses have vehicles parked up overnight at public chargers because there are not depots that take in the vehicles or have parking for the drivers own vehicles. It is an industry. It is an opportunity and it needs the use of land public owned or land banked. It is not rocket science. But then Westminster and the Government's are not like Norways and that includes the Scottish Government. Getting local authority vehicles and Government department agencies and utilities vehicles chargers is the starter for one. As it is many of the Utilities vehicles are using public chargers and blocking the use of them for the general public.

the truth about electric cars
10,s of thousands of smaller hubs like these in Dundee are required around the UK in the next 5 years if the Government are to continue with the plan for Net Zero. Turbine and Solar & Storage Batteries at or near essential, and public toilets. So these are required well as Schools, Hospitals and many public building needing replaced because of their building materials, & the NEW promised hospitals built. What a wonderful chance for full employment in manufacturing and construction, training and much more. Putting the GREAT back into Britain.

New or improved hubs announced, Government EV Loans in Scotland and free & no longer free public charging places..
Clepington Road Dundee Charging hub. & Extension for more council vehicles and others. Bottom pics outside the old Michelin Factory, where the 2 wind turbines are, & CPS HQ / Swarco, Inovation Parc etc. Near Claypots junction and north of Broughty Ferry, in Douglas. Where they wanted to build a Magabattery plant.

Engine oil
Where things seem to be misunderstood is if 0w 20 FS IV was supplied as a litre to do a top up. Is that what happened @jonnieboi82 Many Dealerships invoices show the Oil in units of 0.5 litres and if it is 4 litres it is 8 units. The fixed price Servicing and the Invoices where it shows 5 litres and a price per litre & VAT on the bill is part of the con that goes on. There is VAT on a Bill and there are Accounts and Kidology all along the line. Charging for a sump plug where the oil might be sucked out and the sump plug not changed. Like when a Service cost the same total price if there are 4 spark plugs supplied and fitted or only 3. Or 3 litres oil used or 4.6 litres. Engine Flush or Screen Wash showing even if never used. Air Filter not changed at Major Services on the Minor Major Fixed prices as the services used to be. These Parts are still in the garage and in stock to be used or not used time after services. Now you are supposed to be paying for what you get. Crazy prices for the likes of a Pollen Filter or Air Filter at a Main Dealer service.

Engine oil
@jonnieboi82You are unlikely to know that it is the engine it left the factory with. You have not checked the engine numbers have you? Skoda UK are not even sure anymore even when they paid to have an engine replaced. Not to worry, but don't let people that do not know what they are doing mess with it. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/324108-replacement-engines-engine-numbers-v5-dvla-skoda-uk-what-happened http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/485233-engine-identification

The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
The interior is a dogs dinner IMO. No idea what Thomas is on about really as premium that is not. Do people drive and park cars where the interior / dash does not get stour over them. Stuff having to vacuum a dash like that. Is no thought given to those openning cans or bottles of fizzy stuff and get splashage? Especially where people might be taking drinks while charging an EV. No speedo in front of you, and as for the Heads up that is crap on the current model if you want to sit low and have the steering wheel low. The door handles will have a limited life. The current ones are perfect and there is a little button for the keysless opening and closing.

Major Fuel Leak - Due to bolts shearing on the fuel injector rail assembly

- Curious?
It depends on the road and your driving, but what goes up goes down and you can be coasting a lot of the time because the engine is not under load and needs no power / drive to keep rolling along. The 1.4 or 1.5 TSI or COD,s are using just 2 cylinders when not requiring to use 4. Maybe look at the 'Coasting' threads in Briskoda in the other sections. It can save fuel, but you need the right conditions, driving hilly areas / roads can be ideal.- Charger compressor oil ?

- Curious?
That is lost in Translation someplace. The driver is not selecting 'neutral'. Plenty thread on 'Coasting' in Briskoda if you just search. Cars used to not need to be in ECO, and some only did it in ECO. Some used to have to have 'Coasting' ticked in the Maxidot. Stuff evolved. - Curious?
