Anyone towed with the MK4
^^^ That is a whole different kettle of fish or can of worms from cars without the Type Approval from the manufacturers not plating a car to tow. As was the case with Mk1 & Mk2 Fabia vRS. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/492496-planning-to-tow-with-a-new-car-beware

- Windscreen washer light
What is the ingredient that the supplier / producer of the Windscreen wash they put in containers with the VW Group brand that means the car knows that the liquid is running low other than the tears of angels?- MAHLE pistons built in by factory?
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/445242-burnt-valve-engine-rebuild- Stupid question but... where is the radiator cap?
@J.R.Clue is in the name. Radiator cap, just like there is one on my SX 4 and my Shogun. Nothing to do with the reservoir / expansion tank and its lid.- Stupid question but... where is the radiator cap?
You get a radiator cap on Suzuki Jimny's 1999-2018 & with the newest generation 2018-2023.- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
@wyx087 over the 3 years the car had plenty of circumstances of hot batteries and journeys straight from a charger and all weathers to perform efficiently and also tyres and tyre pressures. It just so happens to be better now than when knew after about the 4th software update. They seem to have got something right. Also one issue though. Car not communicating with my phone properly and seems to have decided my passwords are invalid. That will be a 3 years since setting it up thing. I am moving house so no point with an installation now even. If free and really a 3 pin charger is all I need. PS. Came up this morning showing as it had a Software De-bugging over night. Felt like a bucket of poo today & was back to pre Service and Recall update. Good riddance to it on Monday. PPS. Stuck with the Corsa for another fortnight. New car getting first registered today though. SR23 FTT ................ This one outside with bird poo is a Level 2 but the same exterior. The option of the Black waste trim instead of chrome is £450. They seem to spec all their cars for stock with that but i have not seen other dealers doing the same. Appears there is a shortage of Level 3 cars available so it is just as well i changed from the Black factory order.- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
Corsa goes back in a week with 59,200 miles on it so taken it on a trip where I have free charging other than at Stirling this morning where it was just 30 minutes / £5.10. That was at a good charge speed. It was doing 3.5 miles a kWh up to that point. Then 100 miles later I was getting over 4 miles a kWh and stopped to charge free and the charger was giving a great speed right up to 95%. Another 60 miles on I have been getting 5.1 miles per kWh. Cars never gone better than it has today. Charging up to 98% before parking up for the night. Whatever was done with the AC update has affected something other than the AC. If it had been as efficient from new what a difference it would have been. Fingers crossed it does not have to go home on a low loader. PS. Motability cover the cost to install a home charger or 3 years subscription to BP pulse. I have credit on BP Pulse but up till now have not had a great experience with them. I just called and had Motability put this in place for me since that is no monthly for me to pay and the 20% reduction on tariff. & £9 credit put on for the first 5 months. Not that £9 goes that far with them but I might as well take advantage of that and have BP Pulse to go to if needs must. Instavolt was my first choice but far too expensive now.- Resetting Service message on a mk1 Roomster.
@Roomster201Do you know when it was last serviced or reset and what it shows now and how it is counting down by days or miles? Or has it been serviced and says 'Service due'.- MPG
@UrrellTesco 95 (E10) is 95 ron unleaded petrol so i take it your use Tesco Diesel (B7) Up to 7% bio, what cetane does it say it is on the pump? In my diesel i have been using Gulf Super Diesel and what a difference it has made cleaning out the engine and exhaust and reducing the stink and reek.- Which Karoq DSG?
Welcome. Lots there to go over and the members with the cars will be along.. First the local garage was very wrong on a 1.5 TSI ACT being easy to change, it needs the correct equipment and takes longer than a 1.0, 1.2 or 1.4 tsi. As to the replacement intervals you will see in posts on here that the 5 year change period has been dropped by VW Group. A 1.0 TSI might well feel a bit different from a 1.5 TSI ACT with 150 ps from a standstill, but if a FWD 1.5 TSI ACT it has a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG the same as a 1.0 TSI, but mapped differently for the different engines.- MPG
@Expatmanplenty have posted over the years in this forum in many many threads that they find it the same as you, and equally others post they found no difference.- 1.2 TSI 90 hp cam belt change…
Welcome. See posts this afternoon. Page 10 , 23rd July 2023. There are others around the forums, and your post might get moved to the Fabia Mk3 section. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510175-karoq-cam-belt-change-start-saving-now/page/10- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
After a few days of driving the dark grey / blackish BMW and the stour and bird poo & seeing a MINI in the all black i changed my mind and took a white one from stock which i have sat in a few times. That should be ready to collect next week.- transmission holding gears
@bizo420Do you not even get a 2 year manufacturers warranty in Egypt? I am a bit confused about your '3rd gear not even shifting up until 2,600 rpm even if you you are not touch the accelerator pedal'. ? How does it get to 2,600 rpm without touching the accelerator pedal, or are you using Cruise Control? Maybe there are members with cars with the same engine and gearbox as you on the forum, i had no idea that Skoda built cars with this combination now.- MPG
@ExpatmanThe point is it really does matter as you know, and there might be small differences, there are differences with vehicles that can benefit more from the different fuels, & there are differences around the UK in what gets to the filling stations. The reason i asked where you get your 97 ron is because Sainsbury Super Unleaded which shows as E5 97 ron min can be very much better economy wise than E10 Sainsbury Unleaded 95 min and not much more per litre, just like Tesco Momentum 99 E5 is not that much more than Tesco Unleaded 95 ron E10. Some might even think they are the same fuels being delivered by Greenergy who are also supplying ESSO filling stations in parts of the UK. It is not common that any fuel producers publish results of testing. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf- Can I soften ride after fitting new tyres
Fair enough that the tyres have been changed and feel different, but could your suspension also be a bit tired and needing a refresh?- transmission holding gears
Welcome. You had best go to a Skoda Dealership and discuss it with them if you have a warranty. http://evosoft.dk/diagrams/DSG.pdf- Help- DPF needs replacing after 33k
Welcome, Sorry to hear this sad tale. Someone might be along that can help and i asked a mod to move it to the Karoq section. Maybe @Crasheror @ApertureScan give some guidance. If you bought it 17 months ago i hardly think you have anything to get from going back to who you bought it from.- ULEZ Fabia PD130
Who is moaning, just stating how things are and going to be other places than just the Capital City of England. Personally i have a blue badge if taking in a vehicle not classed as disabled for the VED.- ULEZ Fabia PD130
No i mean Glasgow where over 3,000 notices of fines were issued in the first month. £30 if you pay within 14 days. There are exemptions for the likes of cars registered as Disabled for the VED or where you apply for exemption going into the zone in advance. There is no choice to pay to get the vehicles in that are not allowed to enter. 'Shirley' is not used to paying for crossing bridges in the Scotland part of the UK where tolls were done away with. - 17" Alloy
