Octavia part checking
? What is the part are you looking at for your 2018 Octavia 2.0TDI vRS?

Maybe do not watch, do not encourage him. 'Terrible news for EV owners'. You have the likes of this guy around, and the Daily Mail / Times and others scaring you, or trying to.

@Damian@DPMmight just be able to help if he sees this & hopefully others that know the answers will be along.- Kamiq Montel Carlo 110kW/1.5l does this car have ACT and how can you tell?
Welcome. They are all 1.5 TSI ACT unless Skoda built special non ACT for NZ.- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
I just have to arrange a hand back to their Motability Specialist sales person when i am ready to, The car will be inspected, photographed and that then goes on the auction site & it gets collected out via BCA and some dealer /trader will end up with the car. Then some unlucky person will buy it. It really is going quite well at the moment, suspension and discs shagged obviously, but as the tech says on their 'Video' the electro magnetic brakes stop the car and the discs do not get used much. Scored and rough as boars sh!t would describe them well. I would rather send money and my bank details to a Prince in Nigeria than give to ARNOLD CLARK, and probably my personal details would be safer with the Prince than on AC,s data base. I await the survey & then the resulting calls and email, and also the requests to revise / delete any trust pilot reviews. Back a good while back i was told that my Experience (pathetic customer service) would be used as part of their training at this and other branches. That training must be that they continue to play deaf and ignore anything that a customer might ask, tell them or voice concerns over. Public perception. They need more Secret Shoppers.- DQ200 DSG Gearbox
@H-313Welcome. Does your car happen to have a DQ200 DSG, and are you having issues?- Scala 2023 service intervals and costs
Welcome. If you have the car for 2 years, 20,000 miles then it only needs a service @ 24 months 18,000-20,000 miles. Variable / Flexible servicing. That service at a main dealership is over £200 now. Oil & Inspection Service & Pollen filter replaced. **So worth while buying now.IMO, if only £200, which should be including VAT.** If the car gets put on Fixed servicing, 12 months / 9,400 miles then that would be 2 services. The first being an Oil & Inspection service & the 2nd the same with a pollen filter change. (Some might just do a Oil & Filter service and not rip off customers some take the £215 or more at 1 year old.) Read the T&C,s is it one service at 2 years you are getting, no additional costs? .................... The chart is Fixed Service Regime. You do not need to have the car on a fixed service regime. It leaves the factory on Variable / Flexible servicing and it would be at aPDI that it might get changed to Fixed Service Intervals.- Error service: leave vehicle only when selector in position p
- Rather disappointing mpg.
Pretty good. I did over 700 miles over the weekend in a BMW Series 1 1.5 petrol steptronic (Automatic) 140 ps to and from Edinburgh, Aberdeen to Glasgow and to Edinburgh & North and got pretty much the same. That was in heat, torrential rain Saturday & Today and within speed limits with lots of Average Speed camera miles. Pretty pathetic really from a new car. But it had very wide and low profile tyres and they were run flats & it was like a slug in ECO Pro or Comfort mode and really needed Sport in town or it bogged down. I tried being a bit more careful today to see how much better economy i could get and for 2 mpg it was not worth the effort.- 502 00 oil specification is 5w40 ?
No, but VW / Skoda making it confusing enough. UK, no long life / variable / flexible service interval, oil changes. So Oil to VW 502 00 is fine and 372 day / 9,400 mile intervals. Or to VW504 00 / 507 00, and still do Annual / Fixed oil & filter changes. Or sooner. (Unless someone decides they do not want to & go beyond Fixed Service Regime for oil & filter changes.)- Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
So Corsa back for a month or maybe longer until i get new car. Vacuumed & Washed. tick Passed MOT. Advisory on wipers. lol. tick Recall done. tick Service done because the car said due, and because Motability want a service when MOT'd before cars go back. tick. I handed in the car and 2 keys because one key never worked after the last Recall Update. Collected the car and 2 keys, one still not working. On Saturday i knew the car was moving as it showed on my phone and then it came up as being serviced. On Monday i got a message and video, car passed MOT & health check done and wipers smearing and tyres, suspension all ok. No wiper replaced obviously. (Maybe smearing from the car being washed before going in the workshop because they never smeared before going to them.) Then i get a call later Monday. Car ready. I asked if Recall done? Yes. Is the Service done? No it was down for a Service but that was cancelled, must be Motability said no. I said a Service is due, Motability pay well for Services and MOT,s and if i have the car in a month i am not coming in again. Picked it up. Service done. Supposedly. What? Maybe a Pollen Filter, and the washer fluid. I filled that before putting car in, as i always do because i love to see if they charger for washer fluid anyplace.. 2nd key not working. Car not charged up. Wipers smear the windscreen. 'APPARENTLY'. Not actually. So basically for ARNOLD CLARK that is pretty good. For anyplace else, a FAIL. 'Topped up / Renewed Fluids'. 'IF NEEDED THEY MIGHT!' Well not the Brake Fluid. Not the Washer Fluid, So what fluids?? Not the coolant'. Or did they? Doubt it! Done once in the past as it was dropping level & i did it because they had not bothered to.- Spit 476
@Spit476 I just mean it will get moved where you might get answers. ? Is it a 2.0 TSI or TDI vRS. Petrol or Diesel. ? How many miles has it done? Has it had the appropriate servicing and maintenance? ? Is this something new happening, or is the car new to you and this is what happens?- 502 00 oil specification is 5w40 ?
Indeed. But VW Group Techs were using 5w 40 FS or 5w 30 FS III Quantum or Castrol in the main. & with VW UP!,s 1.0 TSI,s 5w 30 fs. This was / is the VW Euro 5 engine chart from back when, and engine codes for service / oil regimes, Fabia / Polo / Ibiza type cars. Not Citigo though.- 502 00 oil specification is 5w40 ?
Skoda Citigo 1.0 MPI,s never came from the factory to the UK with a variable / flexible service interval / oil changes, only fixed i believe. So VW502 00 was and is just fine. 5w 40 Full Synthetic. VW 504 00 / 507 00 for Fixed or Variable servicing might well be what was filled at the factory or what gets used by many.- Spit 476
Welcome. A mod will be able to more your post to the Octavia section and maybe change the title so that it reflects the issue.- Lane assist is dangerous
What a difference well sorted systems are compared to iffy one. I did over 700 miles this past 5 days in a car i was not familiar with, but i am familiar with how BMW do tech. I had stop start enabled this morning and travelled through a few towns and through Glasgow and over 150 miles of stop / start never needed as i never came to a stop. It was not until in Dundee that it did function a few times at traffic lights. The lane assist was brilliant and non intrusive and disabled it's self when the rain was torrential which was for a couple of hours.- Kodiaq 18 reg Special edition 7 seater timing belt interval
@bluemoon2020 Welcome. If you look at posts today in the Karoq and Octavia Mk3 sections of Briskoda you will see threads with posts about 1.5 TSI ACT's and Skoda / VW clearing up the miss-information that has come from VW UK Group, Skoda, VW, SEAT and Audi on 5 years intervals for replacing cam belts and that is the same as Dealership employees have trotted out for years.- Lane assist is dangerous
Well if there is nobody to see an indication no harm done. Like if a tree falls in a forest and nobody is there to hear it. The issue is those that miss seeing who are seeing them and thinking Muppet with blue lights of flash to pass covert drivers. ? What emergency service vehicles are you driving @sussamb?- Lane assist is dangerous
Wtf had one person's Blue light driving ability to do with the general driving public's. I would question how someone who is a Professional driver is blind to how others drive. As I often think WTF is the police driver / motorcyclist doing, do they never indicate? Or is their hazard perception total guff?- Service
Looks exactly like you paid to have and oil and filter and inspection service as per a fixed regime when not needed when your car had a flexible / variable regime available. It is long life oil in the car so good for 18,000 -20,000 miles. Shame really you were mislead by idiots.- Timing belt - 2018 Octavia 1.5tsi
It is in the thread down the page currently. 'Cost of cam belt change' & in the threads in the Karoq section regarding 1.5 TSI ACT Cambelt changes and the change of Recommendations, guidelines, advice and even schedule from VW / Skoda since 1st July 2023.- Cambelt change necessary after 5 years?
Wonderful. Which dealership is that? Maybe plenty will use them if they want their1.5 TSI ACT cam belt done. Have a couple of days away for a break and car into the dealership and still pay out less than having done at their local dealership..- Cambelt change necessary after 5 years?
Time will tell with those that have them for 10 years or more or are buying ones around then. Timing chains might well not snap or stretch but the other components give up the will to live. Well past time VW put 7 plus year warranties on their engine. No way though. They had to on DQ200 DSG,s in some world regions because the Never need to service as life time oil used was a load of guff. As to the European owners, tough titty. VW could please their selves with **** ups.- Starting Issues with a 2011 TSi
? Have you charged the battery and got it started now? I take it you mean you will use the same place that does your mot to check the car before the MOT. Better just have it checked sooner than later if 10 minutes listening to the radio is flattening the battery. - Getting coilovers info
