  1. Possible, but just do not. It will break it even more.
  2. The title and OP is about the London ULEZ then and not the others around the British Isles or UK where it can be a £60 penalty for entering with the wrong vehicle and which many thousands are already getting notices of.
  3. @Gayrisafiwelcome to the forum. Which country are you in and is this a 1.4 TSI with an 8 speed automatic gearbox?

@ExpatmanWhose E5 97 ron Super Unleaded is it you buy? Not all E5 around the UK is the same as far as Ethanol added and it might not have 5% depending where bought. Sainsburrys 97 ron Super Unleaded is 97 ron Minimum just like others 97 ron, or 99 ron which is Minimum. Then as far as E10 95 ron, they need not necessarily all have 10% ethanol.

  6. The Reveal of the Face Lift Scala is on the 1st August. Auto Express seem to think there will be a diesel. (really, for the UK?) http://autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/scala/356448/new-scala-facelift-officially-teased
  7. They might advice Fuel Treatment in year or 2 as Arnold Clark Service Booking Glasgow did this year when booking the Corsa in for the MOT and no Service. .................. No mention of this was uttered by the Sales Executive that put up the build details. Not a factory option it is Dealership applied. I wonder if it will be done to a car that Motability are buying, if it is on the Build / Invoice it should be, we will see. It all comes out in the wash! Or when you ask the awkward questions.

  9. Messages starting to come in from the Dealership about the countdown to delivery of my new MINI Cooper S Electric. Looks like being 6 weeks away. So i was having a look at the Order / Build documents which would be if i was a Customer buying and not MOTABILITY who do not pay the same. The car comes to £34,470. The 'other items' are £1,079.99, total being £35,548.99 RFL - Alternative -12Months )Including 1st Reg Fee) £55. Motability do not pay that. Delivery £396.68 plus VAT £79.33 £475.99 Motability do not pay VAT. Customer Admin Fee. £145.00 Plus VAT £29.00 £174 Protect X £280.83 Plus VAT £58.17 £349 The one that caught my attention is FUEL, £20.83 plus VAT £4.17 Total £25. **** That if charged would be 28 kWh max @ 90 pence a kWh**** (£25 of petrol would be about 4 gallons at current prices.) ..................... The New Corsa Electric with 'bigger battery and more power' but otherwise the same spec as i have now has a crazy OTR RRP of nearly £39,000.

Skoda - Simply Clever. You go to see 5 year old car for sale with a FMDSH or FSH and you ask has the cam belt been replaced at 5 years and now they can say 'No need to do by time or miles since July 2023.' Vorsprung Durch Technik. You do not want to reduce your profits by doing servicing and maintenance that you have been telling customers that they needed to do.
  12. Guest_ replied to awfabia's topic in Skoda Yeti
@PrezafabIt shows what someplace's put up as an 'ASKING PRICE', if they get them sold at that price then that shows that they are selling for that. Some paid too much to take them in as a trade in or at auction and keep trying to just find a buyer that will pay what they want for a car. If someone wants to sell private or sell to a dealer / trader then that is also the actual value people are putting on them.
  13. @ACOUSTIC Has your 10 year old 2.0 TDI engine had a cambelt change already in the past 10 years and the water pump replaced? So at 2018 or since. Not so sure that the VW Group have changed the advice across the range for all engines TSI or TDI, Euro 5 or Euro 6. Plenty threads or posts in threads about the 1.5 TSI ACT,s which set of people asking when places started quoting £1,000 plus just for the cambelt replacement and tensioners, so more stuff posted across the sections since the change on July 1st 2023 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/514702-cambelt-change-necessary-after-5-years http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/52122-timing-belt-change-interval/page/4 See post 5th July 2023 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/453298-the-mk3-octavia-tdi-water-pump-thread/page/11 ............................... With this for the Karoq pre July 2023 & TDI,s that 210,000 km is 130,500 miles.
  14. The DSG oil change for a 6 speed DQ250 is @ 40,000 miles not at 4 years unless it has done 40,000 miles at 4 years. They are by miles not years. A DQ381 7 speed wet clutch DSG is at 80,000 miles or sooner.

A real world comparison for economy or efficiency is probably a Euro 6 1.2 TSI DSG Yeti with a 1.0 TSI DSG that will have a GPF. Maybe there are those on here that have gone from owning and driving one to the other. Or for a 1.4 TSI Yeti with a 1.5 TSI ACT Karoq.
  16. The UK,s Theory test & the 'Hazard perception test', is something that we should maybe all have to take every 10 years. There are at least 2 'Blue light drivers' on this forum. Maybe they can comment on how they do an overtake at a location like that if not lit up and on a mission. In the Lane Keep Assist thread, pity the Ferrari driver had not 'Lane Keep Assist' that might have at least had an indicator go on or 'blind spot warning' But all the new tech gear is no use if just not paying attention. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486388-lane-keep-assist-is-danger
  17. @TheWandererwas 'He' the owners / registered keeper, as in gave you all the details and chatted? Cover for 3rd party so @TheWanderershould be fine, but for the Policy Holder then who knows.
  18. Or she or non-binary. Lets hope it was the owner or registered keeper and not just someone that borrowed it.
  19. @Breezy_Peteyes I often go for it where I know I have the power so speed to get on past vehicles or have a space to get back in without hitting someone or causing anyone to take emergency action. Just into a NSL and with a fast car in front of me I asses if they are going to go first and then if passing expect the plonker to maybe do just like that driver did. It's a daily thing in the country side IME. The OP does not think they were in no way to blame do they?
  20. The Camper Van / Light Commercial had just entered the NSL and will have likely accelerated to 50-60 mph as many do and your view as to if there were cyclists or walkers on the verge was likely limited. So you were wanting to accelerate from 30 to maybe 70 or 80 mph to get the pass in. The red car in front if they had been a bit further back and had looked and seen and indicated was more likely to do a safe pass than you. IMHO. You are supposed to anticipate, drive with due care and attention. Expect the unexpected, but the red car going for was pretty much certain, just like a red vRS behind going for it is just 'normal' even when unsafe to do, IME. The Insurers will decide anyway.
  21. Just entering the NSL of 60 mph and raring to go. @32 mph before leaving the restricted speed area, but maybe that was 40 mph??? Obvious hopefully who was at fault and driving dangerously and without due care and attention. That is why i have no dash cam. 'Hoist by one's own petard.' Bl00dy dangerous overtake there to think you could accelerate past both vehicles and someone might not come in the opposite direction having done the same thing. IMHO.
  22. @BTandSidSo the little liar you spoke with was mixing up the Over Inflated tyres for the car being 'In transit' and getting strapped down. A BS like him or her are the reason that incompetents get away with not doing a PDI correctly.
  23. @Bris_YetiAre you going to show us how you are doing it as a project? There are threads asking how to refurbish, and ones showing how to about on the forum.
  24. @Bvfjohnson I think someone is making an error. The VAQ diff as fitted to FWD Octavia vRS is now @ 2 years / 20,000 miles. (I would be asking the person 'Which Skoda had true 4 wheel drive and with limited slip diffs other than Skoda Rally car?) http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/509911-vrs-owners-cars-with-a-vaq-front-diff-a-question-on-the-servicing-and-what-you-are-being-told-at-skoda-main-dealerships That is not Haldex. Maybe the dealership or the person you spoke with can show where the Haldex Service as Skoda / VW Show it is not @ 3 years / 30,000 miles. Or someone will have that from erWin. Nothing wrong with doing it at 2 years / 20,000 miles, quite sensible, but seeing that advice / recommendation, guideline or schedule in writing from Skoda / VW would be nice. If Skoda CZ / UK has changed advice then surely that should now be what is known in workshops with all Master Techs, Techs & fitters and not just at the Dealer in Yeovil & with the likes of @Crasheror others that give a damn. http://www.jcr-leeds.com/haldex-servicing-gen5 http://haldexrepairs.co.uk/what-generation-of-haldex-is-on-my-car
