  1. Welcome. They need to earn there money somehow. If the diagnosis takes 10 minutes then are they just going to charge you for the repair and waive the £99? There are Main Dealers charging more than that now. (Skoda fixed price servicing and maintenance had the first 30 minutes of a diagnosis at £60 last year at participating dealerships.) The repair will not be cheap anyway. Is there not an Independent VW specialist you can use rather than a main dealership?
  2. @Neillvrs who did you get the blood out of a stone from. As in what employee threw out that sort of cost? I assume it is a Dealership you are chasing, and not Skoda as in Skoda UK.
  3. @Neillvrs What is supposedly wrong with the engine and also with the DSG. £7,500 does not get near the cost of a new or VW Factory refurbished engine and a DSG and get it fitted at a main dealership.
  4. Not very likely a 1.5 TDI DSG's in the UK so it would have to be a double bubble typo if a 1.6 TDI DSG. So money is on it being the 1.5TSI ACT DSG.
  5. EDIT. I did not know there was a Leon Estate PHEV. There is an Astra Estate PHEV as well. SEAT Leon Estate e-HYBRID (PHEV) _ Pembrokeshire _ Gareth Hughes Motors SEAT.mhtml
  6. If it is the boot size you need best check out the ones on offer. I had a Renault Capture PHEV out last week, no boot space. The Dacia Jogger is not available as a PHEV but is a Hybrid and will be quite good on fuel. 7 Seater or plenty space.
  7. If battery / terminals are OK then maybe the Shifter in P and a fault and not allowing to start. Can you move to N and try it?, it does start in 'N' as long as not below -8*oC which i expect it is not if you are in London.
  8. Do you mean a Fabia Estate? Since you are in the UK. Do you really want to buy a car that is really about Business users and the benefits to them with HMRC, or do you have cheap or free or a good home tariff for charging for local use? I am looking at PHEV's and have driven a few in the past month and before to replace my Corsa Electric, but i can charge them for free. As to for longer trips then what is wrong with your Fabia or a newer one? A MG5 / Estate EV Long Range will take you 200 plus miles easily enough and really charging down south can not be that horrific if you just pay the price of public charging at hubs.
  9. Welcome. Tesla & Polestar are not PHEV,s they are BEV's. There are Hyundia, Kia, Ford, Renault, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroen / DS, and many other PHEV's on sale. Similar or bigger than a Fabia. These are big. but smaller are Niro, Kona, Capture, Puma, Mokka, 3008, C4, Octavia.
  10. Welcome. First one that came up when i typed that into a search engine was £109 on ebay. EDIT. i see ends in C. ? Is it one like this & in Silver and for a Mk3 Fabia? @Carlstonmight be able to help.
  11. Anyone quoting £650 probably does not know their 1.5 TSI from their 1.5 TSI ACT. The thread in the Karoq section will run and run 'long time mister' just like the cam belts. Probably. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510175-karoq-cam-belt-change-start-saving-now-page/9
  12. @sunnyskodanzAs long as Serviced as in properly and not just the oil changed. UK Main Dealer Servicing does not include a clean out or filter change. Have you looked under at the condition of the coupling?
  13. Guest_ replied to Colchristie's topic in Skoda Karoq
ECO is not Economy / Budget / cheep. It is 'Less Grip / Traction / Friction' Low rolling resistance tyres. ie, to eek out fuel economy, and not even necessarily mean any saving in the cost of replacement. Maybe Premium / more expensive ones last no longer than less expensive ones.
  14. Welcome. Deleting the DPF is illegal but then who cares, well your insurance company do because you will be declaring the remap but not the illegal removal of the DPF. Never much point doing stuff that your insurance / loss adjusters can catch you out on and posting on forums. Even more so helping them with your registration number.
  15. It could be as simple as the MCU. Dq200 issue. Any engine issues and talk of such is just some nonsense from somebody, anybody. The Master Tech or Tech with the gear and something between the years need to get involved.
  16. Still sh!te IMO but on ITV @ 1pm for 2 hours today from Dumfries & Galloway Scotland.
  17. Left Hand drive is so very handy for the UK for parking at the kerb and even pavement / kerb side ev chargers. Overtaking is so last decade. Central Driving seats in Vehicles is just so 'Simply Clever', if you can get your back side into the seat. 'Bubble Car front entry even more suitable for City / Town driving in City Cars. Tesla X with Auto opening doors to the road side or pavement side are a danger.
  18. Bump for @sunnyskodanz
  19. What servicing has that main agent done, as in the Haldex. Is that at 30,000 mile / 3 year intervals or sooner. Then there is the rear diff that could maybe do with a oil change. Diff not Haldex. First look at the state of the coupler on the propshaft. Is that a rusty mess. Not an expensive replacement. You will find threads on that. Look in the Yeti guide section. EDIT. I bumped a thread for you in the Yeti section.
  20. @ZacDaMan72I have in the past weeks driven Renault e-Tech Capture (& a PHEV model) & Clio e-Tech 145 with 1.6 litre engines and a Suzuki s-Cross & Vitara looking at replacements for my BEV.. Mild Hybrids or self charging hybrids. No point getting concerned over the terms as they get called 'Full hybrids' as well. Que sera sera, But Skoda will announce what ever when ever but it can only be what is available from the VW group and then they can use what ever terms or words. It is an issue that VW have not got Full Fat Hybrids. But then they spent billions going for Diesel Hybrids, even building factories to produce them in and then the truth came out about VW and diesel's. A Briskoda member and another of his excellent vids.
  21. Derren Brown let alone German Engineers or technicians do not know where a vehicle is driven. Or parked or where it provides a home for wildlife / critters. In a city centre with busses and taxis still spewing out soot and particulates, or a country side with crops and chaff and all sorts of dust including off roads, near the seaside or just anywhere. First off the air filter boxes should not require a manual to see how to get into it, but then again neither should pollen filters need the carry on that some require to check or replace, or just to vacuum out and clean up and replace. Pollen / cabin filter, Skoda Enyaq etc.
  22. Welcome. The Fabia Guide section is always worth looking through if you have the time, maybe the thread is in there. @Naths vRSdid the guide i think when he fitted the Black Pack lights on his 2010 Mk2 vRS which was one of the first in the UK as a Media car and had the clear lenses. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/330375-headlight-swap http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/242334-headlightflashing
  23. @Snowr0What engine / gearbox does the Kodiaq have that you bought, and how many miles has it done?
