  1. @Seasider best you do not follow me if I drive with the tyres at 4 different pressures and the TPMS and no warnings. But then you maybe are behind vehicles like that and never know.
  2. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511788-skoda-recall-in-israel People should not have to check for RECALLS. Registered Keepers are supposed to be contacted by the Manufacturers Representatives to Alert them the vehicle has been RECALLED for checks or actions. Skoda / VW Group are pretty poor on RECALL ACTIONS, SERVICE CAMPAIGNS or WORKSHOP ACTIONS and you have to maybe read on line, in forums etc or Check. SAFETY CRITICAL RECALLS are for them to make people aware of even if you never visit a Main Dealership or the vehicle does not. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions The Airbag recalls started back about 2002 in some world regions for some manufacturers (Honda) and VW Group are eventually getting around to giving some thought to where they might act. As it is they would be out of business if they actually did every safety recall on every vehicle they had sold that have Recalls outstanding, airbags or many other things. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511789-skoda-recall-fyi For the 2001 Fabia recall they said 17 affected vehicles. As to the latest, best check your cars VIN, or for this one called in 2019, 393 vehicles.
  3. Some Lost in translation to English @ Skoda Media or VW Media team. Do they know what a 'Glimpse' actually means.
  4. @ArisaigDavidLifting off the accelerator can be a good way of pulling back from possible incidents rather than blasting past them. 70 mph speed limits in the UK on Motorways which there are none North of Perth in the UK and there are dual carriageways which are also 70 mph max. So fast overtakes on Motorways in the UK in a Superb might have some kicking down or manually shifting or using Sport with the shifter and holding a gear longer before shifting up. The car will still be doing half its max speed if you do a FAST LANE CHANGE as an avoidance action. Some people seem to drive and live in a parallel universe. Ones where Timber lorries on narrow roads require fast cars the size used for Airport transport with loads of OOmph to get past and with the security of AWD. Or with the suspension and steering stiffened up to get safely along a motorway.
  5. You can put the 4 tyres to different pressures, reset the TPMS. drive a bit until this is logged and then not TPMS warning. Not that you will want to but you can. You can fit the spare of a slightly different size and reset the TPMS and then not get a warning, then when the original fixed tyre or a new one is fitted reset again. There are car and often those with these will say. the ACC is disabled, inhibited, or CC is. Well fine, you have on a temporary non match tyres by size, compound, pressure etc unless a like for like.
  6. Guest_ replied to a post in a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk3 (2013 - 2020)
@claire83 No idea why any claim under warranty. The Skoda Approved Dealership that put a Skoda Approved Warranty on a Skoda Approved Used car sold a car not Serviced to the Manufacturers Recommendations, Guidelines, Specification or Schedule. They are the ones that should be paying for the car to have the Servicing done.
  7. 6 sort of thing might well be for England. Well if many places even get that or any charging hubs. Trunk Roads & Motorways and all roads are what matters & there are no Motorways north of Perth. This 'UK' stuff is just what confuses. As it is there are 4 countries making up the UK and each of these countries will need many many more hubs and 4 or 5 chargers will be as much as many get including ones planned by Councils around Scotland and i will guess in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.. Ground Breaking. & what can well be expected. Pathetic to be honest when not being spun by SWARCO. Not enough Rapids obviously and only 2 miles from Charge Place Scotlands HQ' which is being run by SWARCO you own e-Volt.
  8. Yes in the England thread. The point being it says '200 rapid charging hubs across the UK'. A deceiving figure for the UK and needs to be clear if 6 Rapids or more and they get that at 200.
  9. So with 6 or more Rapids. Making Scotland look very devoid of Rapid Charger Hubs because there are quite a few with 4 or 5 Rapid / 50 kWh chargers. The Map actually shows ones with 5 Rapids like Hermiston Park & Ride or Falkirk Stadium but just has not got others with 5.
  10. @ChrisTheTilerIs the door really that bad that it can not be made dent free and painted? Maybe stick up a picture. ? What is the paint code / colour of your car?
  11. The Stolen cars arriving there are Stolen Recovered, uneconomic repair. They are not buying from thieves and 'resetting' goods. Being part of crime other than the Legalised Crime the Insurance Industry is involved in in the UK. Including allowing cars back on the road without full Inspections including making sure all Safety / Electrical systems are checked and seat belts replaced with new.
  12. If someone wants your Skoda they will take your Skoda. For parts. Your dealer needs to watch this. You know they lie. their lips move. Your old car will likely be fixed using bits from here if it is not now a donor. Some nice looking cars being dismantled.
  13. @MarkyjFair enough. Were you getting these warnings every couple of weeks from getting the car or just from 6 weeks ago and then when there was an actual puncture?
  14. @PhilEyreWhile asking Skoda maybe ask if VW Group including Skoda sold millions of cars with Defeat Devices which were illegal and was your Yeti among those. Did your car get a Recall Action done and new Engine Management and an Air Flow device fitted by Skoda after 2017 and are you part of a class action against the VW Group because of buying one of these cars after it was known they had these defeat devices?
  15. The issue is your losing tyre pressure is it not. Do you reset the TPMS? EDIT. Got your latest post. So are these the factory tyres or did you change them for All Weathers? Find out why your tyres lose pressure, not why the TPMS tells you they have.
  16. @MarkyjAre you resetting the TPMS? You do not say that you are. They are loosing too much air are they not, that is an issue. They will read different if the weather / ambient temp is a good bit different, 10*oC will be enough. A warning of 34.5 is good if you set it at 36 PSI and you are checking with the same ambient temp and with the same gauge or filling station Air Compressor that should be checked and maintained and accurate. Are you checking them cold and rechecking cold and with a good trusted Tyre Pressure Gauge? Actually if all 4 dropped pressure/ the circumference changed the warning might not show. Also the warning can be a brake binding or a bearing going and a wheel getting hot and a tyre expending.
  17. Welcome to the forum. Actually there is a software update for 1.5 TSI's with a DSG from certain dates. Also a DSG software update for the DQ200 DSG's. FWD 1.5 TSI ACT's. The issue was there the same as with manuals, just maybe not as noticed or not there, they same as not all manuals had issues. Servicing costs of the 1.5 TSI's and 2.0 TSI's might be quite similar. A AWD 1.5 TSI ACT / DSG has a DQ381 which is a service @ 80,000 miles or sooner & the Haldex @ 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner. With a FWD 1.5 TSI ACT will not require the DSG Serviced and no Haldex to service. The Cam Belt will be quite expensive at 5 years if you do that with the 1.5 TSI ACT. The 2.0TSI DSG service of the DSG is at 80,000 miles or sooner not at 40,000 miles. The Haldex is at 3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner intervals.
  18. It seems simple enough if you think you have run illegal tyres for 5 years now & 100,000 km, just fit the correct size now that you know what that is. If you can not face a car running with 205/55's then maybe neither could the previous owner who then sold / traded in their car meaning it arrived at a Dealers with that size fitted. Maybe time to sell it and get something else. Or even the suspension needs a refresh.
  19. Maybe an idea to keep the threads together. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510219-need-help-on-security-access-code-for-adaption-in-brakes-in-skoda-kodiaq
  20. For 3 years i have tried whenever at the Hospital in Forfar to charge on the one post that is on the CPS app / network. Marked as 22kw but only actually 7kW. That is the post to the right with the yellow e-208 on it for 4 hours now. That is a NHS car. The public charger does say *3 hours max charge time.* The other chargers are NHS cars and they need their own cards. The NHS cars just sit plugged in for 'Long Time Mister' and many must be fully charged and just left there for who ever, whenever. So earlier today side B that the yellow car is on was available and for the first time my card worked and the App showed it available and i got a charge. That's it though, tonight just A was available and actually it showed i was plugged in and charging OK but i not no charging with 4 attempts. There are plenty of NHS cars and visitors and others that could do with Public Charging but this is what they provide and many others report A on the one public post as not working. No idea why there is no turbine or solar here. There is a Battery Storage scheme applied for less than 1 mile away but lots of local objections. Also a few solar farm application in the area and non yet approved. EDIT, by luck got on the public charger. 4 NHS cars have been there plugging in an no longer charging all weekend. Fair enough but not when other NHS then plug in using the public posts. (they will never be out and drive anything like for 150 miles or 4 hours before again getting parked up, plugged in and battery full again.)
  21. Mk3 Fabia. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501116-sill-jacking-points http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/409095-fabia-mk-3-trolley-jacking-points http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461539-fabia-mk-iii-axle-stand-points http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/393967-lift-points-jack-points
  22. There are cars with a 'service key' hidden in the glove box of some cars. Car thieves know about them. ? Do you think if your car is stolen using a hidden key in your car that if those that stole it will be telling the police they found a hidden key in the car after breaking in? Your good gear is in the car tempting them. As to Dry bags for keys, phones etc, i used them for years, perfect for the job. When we kayaked we hid the keys for the cars that were used for ferrying us with the cars and carried keys with us. PS Do not hide the key in an ashtray, first place they look, also for notes or Credit or debit cars, or under the mats, that is the 2nd place.
  23. Welcome. The immobiliser can not detect the key since there is no chip present. Can you not leave the proper key in the car for using to start the car and dry and use your cut key to lock the car & take with you and to open the door to get in? Was that not what you did anyway, leaving the key with the other stuff you do not take surfing?
