  1. I will see when i look at the worksheet which i will be looking at as the Secret Service stuff is guff. Last time the guy held it in his hands because he never wanted to allow me to turn the page. I will not drive it until i know what was done and i am happy with it. As they should know, the driver is always responsible for a vehicles safety. Someone put it on a charger about 7 pm but it looks like stopped charging at 92%.
  2. Call at 5.25pm. Car repaired, micro switch in the shifter for 'park' seemingly and drop link replaced. They would like to charge it before i collect it which is nice. So tomorrow sometime. PS. Car has not communicated with my phone that it has been turned on since 10.48am. I wonder if they are aware i can see this, and that the 'Service is incomplete' as showing on the app. PPS. 5.48pm turned on again and range showing 139 miles.
  3. @gb51Is that on a Yeti? This is the Guide section.
  4. Clearly not the Skoda EV tiddler. The smaller medium family sized one. from 50% to 100% more expensive than their cheapest one. @vrskeithdid say maybe a partner for the UpGTi. Amazed that Autoexpress should get an exclusive on any Skoda models.
  5. The low charge in the battery even though the car started will have been enough to give the warning lights. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/512313-karoq-not-used-for-10-weeks
  6. Phone app shows me the car was turned on again this morning. Just 3 weeks today since it would not go into Drive & move. Then it was showing @80% and 138 miles range. Tuesday it was 80% and 147 miles and later 142. This is it today. 79% and 140 miles. Maybe i will hear before long how it is going with whatever they are repairing.
  7. Looks good to me. Just a bit more tyre sidewall and sorted.
  8. @P100HPThat really is unbelievable if they are serious. You were going to lease a MY22 Octavia and may get a MY24 one. ? What is the difference in the cost of leasing from the time of ordering in 2021 to the possible delivery date?
  9. @nta16BL cars were affected and had engine failures with the Shell Formula petrol. so Metros which were used as Police cars and people might of had from Motability. There were others. PS Bare in mind ESSO from different parts of the UK and the up to 5% Bio or no Bio, as E10 might not have the 10% bio. Remember that the Sainbury Super Unleaded might have up to 5% bio and maybe 0% bio, and when 97 ron (minimum) it can be 99 ron (minimum) OT, but me filling up with £97 of Gulf Super Diesel last week instead or Regular Diesel, then again the next day has been worth the extra 11 pence a litre (50 pence a gallon) my van no longer has black smoke reeking out of it stinking when starting and idling. Maybe there is an improved economy as it is running smooth and i will see on Saturday when i brim it. I have run it on Regular Diesel for 4 years. 17 years old and 118,000 miles and i just never bothered trying Super / Premium diesel in it before my error. (I usually run Asda , Morrisons or Tesco Diesel or where ever is cheap even in BMW's or other sportier diesels and never been aware of any real benefits running premium, this is the first time i have and with an older engine.)

  11. #Memories. Not everyone had heard. But they knew all about it when the needed a new engine.
  12. @nta16No up early and taking Guide Dogs for the stupid out training. The detergent stuff is the same guff going on for years, better formulations, cleaner, better anti foaming, yet different formulations for different world regions even different European Countries. The stuff Royal Dutch Shell formulated a few decades back killed a few engines around the UK including police cars in Fife. Shell-VPower be it as it was Nitro+ or just Nitro or what ever is just extra cost for nothing extra special. As for Pump fuel in F1 cars and those ads. You get 100+ (102 ron even) Shell V-Power at pumps near the Factories and tracks in Italy. ie *Normal Shell Filling Station.* http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/421463-where-do-you-fill-up-supermarket-fuel-vs-brand-name-premium/page/3 The Octane you want consistently and not all the extra stuff. As used in race series and track days and just when you have the vehicle that performs well with it. http://vitalequipment.co.uk/collections/carless-hiperflo Royal Dutch Shell, premium fuels and regular fuels at premium prices for premium profits. So much extra for the same special additive packages as the others add, but do not spend the same millions on advertising and sponsorship. UK Fuels. from UK filling stations pumps and do they make any different in a 1.0 or 1.2 TSI standard or remapped? well try and see. At least know what you are buying & paying for though.
  13. Prices are going up, ask who is doing it their prices. 2021 Fixed prices no more. it is POA now. Bottom 2 are very different examples.
  14. Not an extended Service, but Extended Scope if you go by Skoda & Oil & Inspection Services, fixed regime and Extended Scope @ 3 years then each 2. So what was done last year matters. Was the Pollen Filter changed then, or needs doing now. Your Haldex service is due, 30,000 miles or @ 3 years. Done properly, not just an oil change. The bottom green charts was the old Minor/ interim & Major Services. Changed to Oil & Inspection & Extended Scope 2020 ish.
  15. Daytime Running Lights (Day light running lights) are for others to see your car in broad day light, day time and not when Side Light / position lights & head lights are on. Are yours annoying you when it is dark for Stylee reasons, or are they annoying other drivers / road users. If it is annoying other users when headlights are on then they should be changed. If it is you they annoy, then why are you out of the car looking at them?
  16. Stuff the extra detergent package (sodium), sales BS, it is the higher octane you want. The up to 5% Bio (ethanol) or 0% bio is about the distribution & storage in the UK & areas of the UK. Ethanol is quite Hygroscopic. You have your long life oil already with cleaning agents. If you have some old engine that has been running any old stuff you maybe want this 'Magic' stuff Royal Dutch Shell have added that their Import Partners Greenergy (Part owned by Tesco) have not got in Tesco Momentum 99 they produce, or ESSO E5 or maybe Costco's or other independents E5 they distribute. http://greenergy.com/our-history http://greenergy.com/independent-retailers http://greenergy.com http://greenergy.com/uk http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/512974-vrs-fuel-type
  17. 'Super' is VW Group and other non UK manufacturers using a term that here is just wrong. 95 Unleaded in the UK or Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron (Minimum). No 98 ron retailed for over a decade in the UK. http://volkswagen.co.uk/en/need-help/need-help-faqs/fuel.html Green VW Sirocco R. Red Skoda Fabia Mk2 vRS. Min Octane 95 ron. Bottom Black one will not be on any modern car in the EU or UK, that is for other world regions.
  18. All 1.0 TSI will have a DQ200 DSG if they have a DSG. Really not anything to worry about. Well yes earlier issues have been addressed, we never know how those are after 5 years until 5 years on, so that is from now with a 2018. Still i would buy one with a DQ200. As for with a GPF which you have with a 2018 1.0 TSI, well we will get to know how they are after 5 or 6 years. So far so good, or not many stories of bad. I reckon you will be fine if you get a good car. So service history. Spark Plugs replaced by now, the cam belt replacement is due according to Skoda, so do you want one already done, or are you not bothered and you will leave that expense for a year or 3 and you will pay for that? If buying a Skoda Approved Used Car with a Skoda Warranty then it should be serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Recommendations, Schedule / Spec. That means the Cam Belt should be replaced at 5 years. Sauce for the Goose, sauce for the gander. Fairs fair with Skoda / VW / Dealers. The write the rules. Buying from others, car supermarkets etc, then know what servicing should be done and if a Service History or FMDSH, then what was actually done.
  19. @tommoynihanWhat year & what spec / trim of Mk2 Fabia.
  20. Different bags, different header tanks, different TDI's and different manufacturing line at different periods in time. Different difficulties and high expense to those that sadly had failures.
  21. Re your fuel station and the same fuel. Do you not get Winter fuel in Italy each Winter, which is not the same as Summer diesel. It will be the same energy for the money and then the same each winter you have been running the car. I assume that you check your air filter and know you are running a fresh / clean one all year.
  22. The OP does say they were on a little bark/mud having turned quickly right for the corner. Anyone can get it wrong on corners on gravel or mud or cow sh!te or what ever. Especially so if not paying attention.
  23. If you do not want the additional stuff then try the likes of Carless 102 ron Hiper250, or other race fuels. Double the price but good for high days and holidays. Just treat it like you are getting half the MPG. We used to be able to buy BP 102 ron at a pump in Fife near Knockhill. On Continental Europe 100+ Super Unleaded is as nice without costing anything like as much. If you need or want Additives, Detergents (Sodium) then yes there are packages, but the Higher Octane is all many want. There are additives / detergent in your oil. Turbos love some ethanol which is the Bio. But there are higher octane without the ethanol. Loads of choices, but you need to know what you are getting. ESSO in some of the UK comes from Greenergy, as does Momentum 99 and others. Yes the same base fuels, but some come into the UK now from Europe and are still winter formulation, so less hygroscopic. Some is travelling the world in shipping tanker, some from UK cracking plants. Tesco published their test results, more about emissions, they used to publish easy to find the formulation of Unleaded & Super Unleaded and so did ESSO. Never easy to find what 'Special Additives / Formulation Royal Dutch Shell has in the UK, it is not the same on other regions just as other producers fuels are not. They are not all the same Octane either. Ethanol is quite hygroscopic, hence less used in some regions / storage facilities in fuels. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf
