Multiple errors and non start engine
@Libby10Welcome and sorry nobody replied / offered any guesses. Maybe in the Octavia section there would have been responses. ? Has a new battery resolved things, or are you still without use of your car?

Dangerous tyre wear on inside shoulder
When looking at replacement rear axles for Disc Brake conversions on Mk2 Fabia there are plenty that will have been bent in accidents before being sold as spares, but ones on cars can be bent from being lifted probably with a single trolley jack.

BYD Atto 3 - Short UK Test drive
& i forgot. For room / space / value, a MG5 Estate. Long range or not long range. If i was spending cash money buying i think that is what i would be getting. They drive and handle like normal cars and are on sensible size tyres.

Reversing lights
@sussamb Are you wanting to light up your way behind like the old days of a rear spot light on your Anglia / Escort because it was so 'Rally' Some of those idiots with rear number plate white lights brighter than front DRL's might know how to make reversing lights very bright. Personally i put the rear Fog light on with some vehicles if there is nobody to annoy & to assist seeing behind when reversing.

BYD Atto 3 - Short UK Test drive
I have a friend that went 2 years e-208, nothing but issues, then Citroen C4 EV. It is going back and he is going PHEV. My Corsa electric is hard used and gubbed, the drop link issue is as my friends e-208, and the C4 and other Stellantis EV's. Dealership / Workshops, software, hardware, lack of Bandwidth with dealerships, software updates etc all issues. Stallantis is mot sorted or dealers, and Vauxhall are the worst of the Group. I hate the Peugeot steering wheel, the dash and the seats of a e-208, i did have one for a few weeks during lockdown. Lease / Motability is one thing. Owning one of these would be crazy no matter how cheap you get it IMO. EDIT. PS. A MINI Electric if no need to go more than 100 miles. An e-UP! / Mii Electric if available and early issues sorted or a Citogo iV with charger issues sorted for a good small EV. Likely not cheap though.

New car.
@Phuttersoften is confused or groans at my posts. So to be clear. The Original Equipment tyres as VW Group have on cars even SUV's or AWD's are Summer tyres and ECO biased. Pretty useless for lots of the UK for much of the year in anything other than dry warm roads, but then millions of people are driving with these with no issues.

Vauxhall Corsa electric 2020 Fault (maybe faults) in first 6 weeks & various over the next 3 years.
I have been looking, thinking and figuring what to get next. Well a couple of weeks non EV i have decided to stay non EV after i get my car back or not. WTF is it with these pillocks with Green Flashes on their registration plates. They seem unable to keep up with the NSL's with other cars that are because the roads are good and clear. They are not even tourists because often they will let you past. These EV drivers want to get up your jacksy, so you how quick they can pass you then settle into getting some range back in their battery as the hypermile. Then as i have been not driving an EV north of Perth / Dundee and around the Cairgorms i checked out Chargers when near. Out of order or blocked etc. Absolute horror show stuff if you need to get places.

Pug E-2008 Thoughts & any issues?
Give Stallantis EV's a miss. Only go for a clean sheet build EV, not anything that comes with a Petrol. & Plug in & maybe even a diesel. The 50kWh Batteries with 45 kWh Usable are crap if you are getting just 3-3.5 miles per kWh & if supposedly 52kWh and 50 usable that is a con. There just not as good as Kia / Hyundai, or MG or Renault & need to get there act together. Lovely interiors, stylee, nice looking, comfortable. Need bigger batteries and better efficiency / range and Winter weather efficiency is very very poor. Positive. Used prices dropping, Ex Mobility cars coming into the trade & people are getting rid of them because they are ****e. People are going for PHEV's for local and short trips and home charging.

New car.
They are Summer / ECO tyres. No matter if Dunlop, Continental, Pirelli, Nexus, Maxxis, or any other, They call them all season they are on for 365 days a year unless you change them. Unless they are actual All Season / All Weather or what ever then Summer tyres and ECO, not sporty, spirited, wet weather or anything else. There are cheap tyres with bad reputations that actually perform better than OE tyres fitted to VW group vehicles.

engine fan continues running after engine switched off
Volkswagen's Defeat Device Cheat with TDI's until caught in 2015 & then their response, Voluntary Recall and Engine Management Software update & with 1.6 TDI,s a Flow device that ruined some perfectly good cars / vans. Known as 'The fix'. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions There was a 2 year Peace of mind guarantee. Read T&C that you got when they gave you that in writing & the date. Any other Engine Management / Software updates with 2 year Warranty Extensions, then again READ the T&C's and if you have an issue and it is valid then you know who to contact, VW / Skoda UK & their Executive Team if a Dealership is not playing the game.

Kodiaq 4x4 TDI 140kW DQ500 - noise
@JimbobnobThat small increase in the vid of RPM is going to harm nothing, blipping the accelerator. But sitting stationary it is hardly representing a whinning noise during acceleration. ? Are you any further on with any diagnosis of why your car is making a noise that sounds as though it shouldn't make?

Exhaust soundings !!!
When first you hear the exhaust blowing with a Fabia twincharger look at this piece under where the front sat passenger is. For the rattle that might be he downpipe fixing broken.

Octavia dsg idle revs causing slight shake/vibrations when stationary
@chrisjhammondssounds like you need someone with knowledge to check your car then. Not just to increase the tickover, but to see that all is well. Best find a good independent & one that can service the DSG. Are you sitting stationary with the car / shifter in D and your foot on the accelerator, or in N with brake on or parking brake when it is @ 7,500 rpm? Is that just with the AC off? Does the revs increase if you turn it on? ? Was this car sold to you with a Full Service History, but looking like a history showing not serviced when it should be if no history of a DSG oil change.

Exhaust soundings !!!
@Crucian re you your 'black tips' is that what you have not chrome? I always painted then satin black and you did not see the soot, but I like the soot with no oil in it. As to if the tail pipe was greyish inside I was pretty sure they were running lean or maybe not on super unleaded. This applies with twinchargers. Ignore with other engines.

Premium Petrol for a Fabia 1.2tsi (2016)
@GerrycanI flagged this thread for the mods to move to the Fabia Mk3 section but it was left here. I watched to see if the OP logged back in to maybe see the reply. Sad really that people join, ask something and then do not reply even to say thanks but no thanks. Maybe they have a reason or circumstances. It would be nice to get a response from @CameronD1997to know how they got on and if the plugs had been changed. PS UK Petrol & Diesel are different Late Oct/Nov till the end March. Winter Spec. The Petrol to be less Hygroscopic & the Diesel with Anti Wax additive. Same Octane or it can be higher than Min with the E5 or E10, and the Diesel Cetane does not increase with Winter Spec

Exhaust soundings !!!
@CrucianThe first Mk2 vRS came into the UK in 2010. Plenty have had the Back Box look like crap for many years and never replaced them because they do not leak for years even when the outer skin is like it should. Loads and loads of threads on here on the various After Market exhausts if you just do even a quick search. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/434438-corroded-rear-silencer http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/425186-exhaust-for-vrs-tsi In the many threads on here and in the project section there are vids of the various examples, and pictures and much more because over the past 12 + years it has been covered so many times.

Octavia dsg idle revs causing slight shake/vibrations when stationary
The air filters condition as you find it will be an indication of recent servicing and if done correctly. Does that Full Service History have it showing the Fuel Filter changed, & most important the DSG Service / oil & filter changes @ 40,000 & 80,000 miles? It is due next @ 120,000 miles if it was done done at 80,000 miles. It is a DQ250.
-
Maintenance Schedule
@GWCTas The OIl & Inspection Services & even the Extended Scope involves very little and not all shown on that might get done and actual service parts and anything done needs paid for over and above the Oil & Filter service and look see and report. Bottom in green is the old Minor / Interim & Major or Major & Major before the renaming in 2020. Even then stuff might not get done, let alone checked.

Flanged Towbar for bike carrier
Welcome. Is your car plated showing the permissible weights for towing. If so then just have the fitting of what you require in the way of bar & ball and lighting / light board for bike carrying fitted. You do not need Towing Prep you are not towing. Even if not Type Approved for Towing, so not plated, you are not towing, you can in the EU & now still in the UK fit bike carrying equipment )tow bars / balls) to vehicles that can not have a Tow Bar for Towing. The issue is where some professionals will not fit a Tow Bar because it is approved for models approved to tow. Then Warranties are another issue, but it is your car and used.

Octavia dsg idle revs causing slight shake/vibrations when stationary
Welcome. How recently did you purchase and i take it that it is long enough that the diesel in now has all been bought by you and not stuff that has been in for weeks or months? How many miles has it done and what service record have you. Have you looked in the Air Box to see what the Air Filter is like, clean, or new / fresh and as though recently replaced?

Skoda announce six new EVs by 2026
Skoda should easily be able to have a Hatchback / Saloon / Estate car of Octavia size / height using the latest tech / batteries. There are plenty normal Electric Cars on sale now that are cars, not a SUV, a MPV, a tall expensive not very efficient vehicle. Skoda / VW Group really seem to always be a year or 3 away from where others are now with their tech and vehicles, blade cells, removable batteries, buy or lease etc. So far a discontinued in the UK Citigo and 2 shapes of Enyaq is pretty ridiculous after all the spin over the past years from Skoda / VW heid yins.

Dangerous tyre wear on inside shoulder
Who are they, what are they? Are they a Hunter Alignment place with trained employees. As it is is the suspension gubbed? I would swerve the Dealership who could not sort out new cars let alone older ones. Go to a Specialist, with all the gear and more than ideas. Training & Qualifications and that 'Give a damn'. Say where you are, someone can maybe recommend someplace. I recommend you check tyres properly regularly / & pressures more often with any vehicles, faulty or not.

Dangerous tyre wear on inside shoulder
Obviously something can be done by a proper Mechanical Engineer / Mechanic. Do not deal with total muppets / fitters.

Service
@CurrymunsterIn German / with Mercedes then fine. But there are typed on that service record just wrong. Because you get Fabia MK2 vRS Twinchargers with a Supercharger & a Turbo.

Digital service history
Service books stopped getting put in cars around 2012/2013. See the threads like the one titled 'service' tonight. That is the kind of Service History that should be provided. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/512863-service
