  1. EDIT. Sat a long time could have been Diesel in from when ever. (Maybe even waxed during the winter if it was not winter diesel.) Pre November last summer diesel, winter diesel since. Now we are back to Summer diesel down south and now in Scotland in some areas. 60,000 miles means a diesel filter replacement could be an idea if not already replaced. ? Manual or DSG ? Is there a clean air filter in the airbox? Some Premium Diesel bought at the next fill up might be simply clever just to see how that is. Not that it is a higher cetane. EDIT, OK so 60,000 miles. Look at the Air Filter and see what is in there. Maybe something like a 'K&N performance filter' is strangling it.
  2. The Washer Fluid anti freeze would have been not strong enough. Washer Fluid froze in pipe. That Performance stuff is for the engine but they can try to have it cover anything. The Rear Washer loss of Performance is because of a broken pipe though, then leaking washer fluid. Maybe due to freezing in winter, maybe caused by you because the washer fluid strength was too weak for the coldest weather. But they are not saying that are they. ? Has the Dealership submitted a Warranty claim or is this just the Master Tech not supporting your claim. They are your agent, they are not the Warranty Provider.

  4. I flagged for the Mods the repeats in the DSG thread so they can edit them.
  5. Pity they never just fixed it while looking at the break if they had the part required or just used a piece of pipe if they could, but looks like they are milking it. You are the Golden Goose. They or the Warranty Provider can tell you in Writing which exclusion covers the part required & the breakage. *They might have messed up and managed to not include something they can say not covered.* VWFS_11815379_SKODA_AUW_Booklet_0922E (1) (1).pdf
  6. The £100 diagnostic Inc VAT must have had the technician maybe taking 30 minutes to find the leaking pipe. Maybe even put the rear hatch back together another 20 minutes. I would love to know the price of the parts and the labour required to remove the trim again and fix / replace a pipe. Obviously 20% VAT in that £240.
  7. @MATT1What age is the car and is this a Manufactures warrant / extended warranty or a Used car Warranty it has covering it? SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf VWFS_11815379_SKODA_AUW_Booklet_0922E (1).pdf
  8. http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/leasing-news/2023/04/04/stellantis-ambition-to-be-european-leasing-leader-with-leasys Stellantis cars / vans / pick-ups. So far pretty small battery EV's. Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroen, Dodge, DS, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Masarati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall. As to EV only from a clean sheet near nothing, maybe more coming eventually than just 500 /Abarth. Like the sporty / Super car ones.
  9. @Skodledo they spread thousands of tons of salt in Oxforshire if the weather and road condition requires it or just for the fun of spending money? Location location location. The cars where built in Eastern Europe where a bit of cold and damp is also to be expected.
  10. @TanivIf no record of the spark plugs being replaced then they need inspected, and if they are out then you change them. A failing plug can cause an ignition coil to fail prematurely. The VAQ diff needs serviced properly if not done already.
  11. The chart i put up shows when compared with the total chart that 1/4 of the Peugeot 208's sold / registered in February were electric. VW Group are using the partner companies (Including MG / SAIC) to have the Average Fleet emissions needed to save them being fined. TESLA are very much part of the kidology helping their partners JLR. So much of sales / registrations are kidology for the EU & the UK.
  12. ^^^ I had never heard of the Lynk & Co 01. 3rd place PHEV above. I have now. http://lynkco.com/en/car
  13. Europe wide sales or first registrations are just that. Who has cars built, who are selling them new to customers / fleets / utility companies and government agencies or to their own companies and then they are sold used. Lots of simpler cars with less chips and built cheaply not in the EU or EU countries not using the Euro. Cars bought with individuals own cash money, borrowed money is very different from leased cars and the manufacturers being the ones financing the lease company. PS quite a lot of Dacia Spring showing as sold in February. Maybe all they can built are flying off the shelf. Maybe the same with other of the BEV or PHEV if only being built in lower volumes. The manufacturers need them first registered for their Fleet average emissions in the EU and then UK fleet averaged. They do not want ones built and sitting unregistered.
  14. You might have to if they are correct on the gearbox. Go to a gearbox specialist first though. You are going to need to consider getting the cam belt changed as well.
  15. @KevinmajYes the Extended Warranty will be invalidated if you remap the car. Read the T&C's and exclusions. That will be non factory factory original or factory approved engine management / hardware or software. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021 (1).pdf VWFS_11815379_SKODA_AUW_Booklet_0922E (1).pdf
  16. The records are online. No service book for stamps. You need to be checking for proof of what done when. Manufacturers Warranty is 3 years unless before first registration the option of 4 years or 5 years was bought.
  17. The DL382 is the revised version of the DL501. Audi's 38,000 miles S-tronic service intervals is probably Audi being one up on VW / Skoda / Seat. I think it was for the USA first and foremost but maybe not. (i will stick with that though.)
  18. @lol-lolMy maths. Real world, April weather. Petrol 1.2, 8 speed auto Corsa can do 50+ mpg as i drive it. Today a litre of petrol is 142.7 pence, = £6.49 a gallon. (My Suzuki can do 42 short trips & 48 mpg longer.) Corsa Electric getting 3.5 miles per kWh as i do means 15 kWh takes me 52.5 miles. Same driving speed and style but would need to be recharging in 140 miles or less. £6.49 divided by 15 would be 43.2 pence a kWh to be the same cost. 50 pence a kWh @ Public Chargers are as much as i want to pay. 15 kWh x 80 pence is £12.00 to go just over 50 miles. Aberdeenshire Council @ 47 pence already is going to change my routes and where i charge or if i go in an EV.
  19. A 7 speed wet clutch DQ381 DSG as might be fitted to newer 2.0 TDI's or TSI's FWD or AWD have a Service Schedule of 80,000 miles then again at 80,000. (If you think you could actually leave them that long, as in car maybe ready for the scrap yard on a low annual mileage car and the DSG never got to a second service.)
  20. @Tishout You have no need to purchase one if you owned one and VW Group paid a dealership to remove it and bin it, not even have them recycled. They are due you one free gratis fitted back on your car and they are getting them cheaper than that by a long way from whoever manufacture them if it is not a VW company.
  21. I am easily beaten. I would leave it with no light working or any buzzer as the driver knows if they are wearing the seat belt or not.
  22. They took covers off some 2.0 TSI's not 1.5 TSI's and now they are back on some new ones, replacements on some that are due one, free gartis. Some 1.5 TSI's now have smaller engine covers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511469-15-tsi-engine-cover Supposedly for the new GPF arrangement.
  23. @BT_11vRSIt would have made no difference if your mate had a Superchips plug, switchable maps, or any other device in the OBD and they killed someone or maimed them and then unplugged it. There are insurers that do not load your premium if you have remaps, tuning boxes, pedal boxes or even modifications. There are others that will not touch you with a barge pole. There will be someone along shortly from a forum sponsor saying to contact them. In the Insurance section on here you will see companies, and threads on insuring.
