  1. GR Yaris 4x4, 257-268 bhp. Yaris GR Sport, 1.5 3 cylinder hybrid cvt auto 114 bhp. Fun enough and frugal, but not to me mistaken for the GR Yaris. VW Group did this one and that sorted them out for the Rallying and Polo's and Fabia. Also the Polo WRC 2014.
  2. The Cam Belt & Tensioners replacement is not £550, but we will see about that when you get to having that. Yes it is £435 for a Major service on a 4 cylinder petrol Vauxhall. Genuine Vauxhall parts. £385 Vauxhall Approved parts. http://vauxhall.co.uk/owners/maintenance-and-repair/servicing/services-explained.html
  3. Interesting here that they mention the 1.5 petrol & the 2 days.
  4. Some might decide to trade in at 5 years when the see how much a service might be costing next year if they do it on a 1.5 TSI ACT Oil & Inspection. Extended Scope. Brake Fluid. Cam Belt Replacement. Spark Plugs & maybe Pollen Filter if not done at 4 years & maybe even the Air Filter.
  5. Time will tell on how much the job costs owners as there are going to be lots of 1.5 TSI ACT's at 5 years or older going into main dealers to get cam belt changes. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511551-hi-all
  6. @PhoenixboyWas that having the person on the service desk having checked with the master tech that it was on 1.5TSI ACT, or was that just a price they got off a screen?
  7. @PhoenixboyIf they will actually do a 1.5 TSI ACT for £550 then that is wonderful. There are those that have quoted that price but seem to not really know what it is they are quoting on working on. But if they will be held to that figure then it would be silly not to just pay that.
  8. @Peebs101 Remember, there is the Haldex @ 3 year / 30,000 miles. Oil & filter. Then the rear diff, which is different. George, (In Forfar)
  9. There are quotes as high as £1,000 being made, even higher than that. That is not including doing the water pump, this is because of the time involved. You can find a thread in the Karoq section. There has been members that had it done at Independents for less. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/510175-karoq-cam-belt-change-start-saving-now/page/8 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/507544-cam-belt-for-15-tsi-in-east-kent
  10. Maybe the OP will be back later to tell us more and if filling to MAX each time, and how low the coolant drops.
  11. PS. Your Cam Belt is due a replacement at 5 years according to Skoda / VW UK if you go by their recommendations / guidelines so i would get ready for that expense. Maybe ask them how much they would be charging to do that. They might actually know about that work as well as they seem to be up on things. After all that is their job. ? Have you had the spark plugs replaced, the pollen filter & the brake fluid, or the brake fluid tested for H2o content?
  12. Welcome. If your 1.5 TSI ACT is FWD (& it is) then the 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG is a DQ200 and there is no Service Schedule, Guidelines or Recommendations for Oil changes. So they are right. There is 2 oils, in the box and in the MCU and no need to change them. (They can be changed, but i can understand why they are not offering to do that job for you.)
  13. They had gone to Cam Belts with Mk3 Fabia 1.2 TSIs, Launched late 2014. Cam Belt replacement with a 1.2 TSI by Skoda / VW UK recommendations, guidelines or even schedule @ 5 years.
  14. @Badassfabia A members vRS & into Parks Skoda Hamilton , a main dealer that had in the end to put the job out, they even managed to mess up fitting the replacement ECU. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/444617-7sp-dq200-dsg-failure Over £3,000 5 years ago. How it needs done with a refurbed MCU.
  15. If it is just £1,500 before labour you are getting away lucky. Where are they getting a gearbox? It might not need a gearbox, but even if just the Clutch Packs or a MCU it will be costing you. Just selector forks or an accumulator are unlikely. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/511614-fabia-vts-mk-ii-dsg-gearbox-failure http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/420740-mk2-fabia-vrs-aka-green-monster/page/3 on a 2010 car you are going to want new clutch packs fitted as well as the ECU refurb if needed. (Later cars 2013-2015 might have had service campaign '34H5' which was a software update because of failures /leaks with oil pressure. 2009-2012 should likely of hasd '34F7' which was the oil changed from synthetic to mineral & the Software update. The sticker is possibly in the boot showing your car had that done sometime since 2014. maybe when the engine was done.
  16. I do not think these even appeared anyplace from Skoda before 2018. If they did it was not anyplace obvious to find.
  17. Let's be clear VW 504 00/507 00 can be used if on fixed or variable servicing with a TSI and VW 502 can be used only if on a fixed service regime. With a TDI only VW 504 / 507 can be used even if on fixed. Long life oil. Low SAP etc. Then later we have SKODA VW using with cars pre WLTP and when the GPF,s are fitted to VW 508 00 / 509 so 0w 20 FS IV. Not relevant for 2016 though.
  18. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/449229-new-engine-is-not-a-new-engine @Badassfabia The DSG can get faults sadly. No surprise with your car at the age it is. What has been getting done at the Services other than Oil & Filter changes. When was the Water Pump replaced if ever?

  21. @Lee You seem to be actually over thinking this or taking it seriously. Fifth Gear Recharged had a presenter riding 3 smaller electric bikes / mopeds and trying to carry a cake and she seemed to miss that one bike had 2 battery packs & if you did not put the one in where a tank usually goes you have a space to carry stuff. http://maeving.com Battery packs do not need the connectors to be at the top. They can be on the side and near the bottom.
  22. Are you topping it up because it has gone to MIN or below, & are you topping it to MAX? No need to fill to MAX, as it gets at Services then just drops back to where it was. There is no 'FILL TO THIS LEVEL' mark, so if it sets it's own level between MIN & MAX that is fine. If it drops to MIN or below then find out where the leak is.
  23. Were there issues after 2012 when there were revised timing chains / tensioners? If there were issues with the one you are looking at you would hope that they had occurred between 2015 and now.
