  1. Welcome. I take it you checked the battery terminal was tight. Checking earths might be the next thing then.

Free is OK as long as you are OK giving them your info. It never worked very well for me when i tried it. As it is with my MY Vauxhall connectivity and app it is also crap and unlikely to be that secure. I do like that it tells me where my car is, but actually it is where my phone is and that might be in another country from the car.
  3. Anything major Stylee will come with a Face Lift, but a change of what they are adding, taking away or just tweaking from one year to the next can be anything from colours offered, wheels to actual trim inside or out. From someplace next year Skoda are spinning highly efficient engines in new generation Superb & Kodiaq & a refreshed Octavia will follow in 2024. Turning out cars that customers want within 26 weeks of ordering them would be a good ambition for Skoda i would have thought. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506709-vision-7s
  4. @staituk Handy if you said what engine your car has, is it a TDI rather than a TSI?
  5. They are certainly looking much better. So when we are @ 5 years old and more with more 1.5 TSI we will know how they are at over 5 years old. There will always be some issues obviously as nothing can be 100% guaranteed to not have issues. If they were VW Group might do 7 year warranties as standard, or even 6 year ones. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506240-loosing-coolant
  6. @nauticat What it really means is you look at what MY22 cars in your country were supposed to have as standard or options and what might have been deleted because of shortages. Then look at what the MY23 cars are showing as having in your country, then luck of the draw might mean they arrive with what you thought you were getting or maybe something less. That applies for any EU, European or Global Country really.
  7. Exactly that. Next year's model starts getting built in 2nd part of the current year. My22 cars were being built over a year ago. Some built last year only reached final completion into this year, and delivered recently.
  8. ^^^ Wunderba and 'Simply Clever'. Supermarkets are better IME of letting you find chargers than councils are, certainly with Councils in Scotland. About time that Morrison's sign was how it was at any public charging hubs, chargers. In Scotland the Local Authorities can not even put up signage to Public Hubs they build and control. EV Charging hub direction signs on roads showing that there ones would be so easy and i have asked Angus Councils Leader about this on the A90 or off the A90 in towns. About the only signage i ever see is when there are Park & Ride signs but even when you get to the location you can need to hunt about to find where the chargers actually are and that is not always a quick find.

It is covered under the car being fit for purpose and of merchantable quality, so if it needs changing then they will need to replace it. You have had the car a week i read.
  10. I would want to know if it is Australian Spec and came to the UK for use in Australia or anyplace else with the UK Military or anyone else and never got there. There were stories of Audi's and a curious case of cars in Australia a few years back with the same VIN's. No idea what happened on that one. It is not just the usual of someone asking on here how they can get MPH digital on the speedo and being told to change to Australian for the lights. EDIT. My bad, not Australia, unless maybe some ended up there.

If it gets an alternator now then they will be very very likely replacing the battery soon so win win.
  12. ? Is there a Service Record / Invoice showing when the Fuel Filter was last changed? ? What about other servicing, did that show when the spark plugs were last changed that you have just changed. What is getting done at a Full Service? Is this a Main Dealers or an Independent? Main Dealer Servicing is not much of anything being done for too much money. (old prices below.) Now Oil & Inspection services & Extended scope is even worse. Look at the Air Filter now and change if needed. No need to pay others for parts or labour for things you can do. Running it on good fuel from now on until the event would be simply clever. E5 / Super Unleaded. Brakes Serviced, Fluid changed. Good tyres and tyre pressures for the day.
  13. @Bugginbob You never said if a petrol or diesel vRS? Same oil though. VW508 00 / 509 00. If a TSI. If they had VW502 00 to use, 5w 40 FS then they are the kind of place i like for a TSI, but that is for when you ask for not Long Life oil. So the car should have got VW508 00 / 509 00 which is 0w 20 FS IV. Fixed or Variable Servicing. I would have been happy with VW504 00 / 507 00, So 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III. But we will know with the part number.

They need to get on with availability. The Skoda / VW Owned cars that are there as Demonstrators until they become EX Management cars, are for customers or potential customers test drives and are not their personal perk. Well not supposed to be. So if they are short of Customer Courtesy cars they get them hired in. Or Skoda Assist will if you have to call them. Like you are unable to drive your car. No point a Responder Charging / Starting your car when the DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN has diagnosed an Alternator. They are taking the Michael.
  15. Not true. My Corsa Electric was not Serviced @ 8,000 miles because Arnold Clark booked it in 4 weeks before on from needed, they said it needed a service. I Checked 4 days before, all was well, early booking, an Electric Car, just a EV HC & no Service but RECALL ACTIONS, and had it 4 hours and & did nothing. No EV Technician in that day they said. I was sitting outside 4 hours because of Lockdown. The 2 updates not done, they messed up the Service Indicator, that changed as i drove away and later went AWOL from the App. That was the Not an EV Technician messing about. Next service due 16,000 miles / 2 Years later. An Actual Service. That was many many miles ago and last February. A Corsa Electric is a Corsa-F from 2019 on, Corsa-E with fossil fuel engines confuse them. So after asking and asking for a Service since Motability want one done i get a Hire Car at the end of a month for 7 days. Not booked in for a Service or Health Check, booked in for RECALL's, 1 is Safety Critical and called 2 years ago. Brakes. Booking keeps talking Engine Oil, Coolant etc etc. Total Muppets. PS. Over Air Software Update lost 8,000 miles off the dash and then 12,000 miles. Phone App & Maintenance and Car have 3 different mileages showing. None are correct. Looking forward to collecting the Hire Car that the RAC have arranged with EUROPCAR with Motability paying for it as Arnold Clark have no Courtesy cars with an Autobox. The Technicians might end up shutting the car down and need in an actual person that knows there job hence the Hire Car for 7 days for starters. Car needs new Discs & Pads and more but then telling that to the BOOKERS is a waste of time, they keep talking about OIL CHANGES due.

So they say alternator and not just battery. ? Why have they not arranged a courtesy car. You have a warranty do you not? If you get stuck call Skoda Assist.
  17. It will be a Technician or Master Technician that will use knowledge to check the car. Someone that wears overalls or a coat. Any independent Towbar fitter that does it as a job / profession has on their desk or on a self the books with the info or on their computer / phone about Towbar Fittings. Reason being they are legal responsible for what they fit / install.
  18. Just remembering that Skoda / VW Customers services is contracted out. So Arse and Elbow can get mixed up.
  19. @fsec Have you had a look at the plate on the car as you get in and out the car, or the V5 to see what they say on weights? Not surprising that a receptionist at a Skoda Main Dealers Service Desk or on a phone would know nothing about very much to do with Skodas. They do not employ staff for that jobs because the are trained or qualified technicians or mechanical engineers. Maybe not even an NVQ in keyboard skills or going to ask a grown up that does know because that is their actual full time job / profession in a Car Dealership.
  20. @Breezy_Pete might be someone that can help.
  21. Yes i know. You go to the Skoda UK website and the contacts. You can send a message and get a reply and ask for a person to speak to. I will leave you to google the page yourself.
  22. The Dealer Principal needs to arrange for his / her dealership to pay for the service. ? Was it the Dealer Principal you spoke with? No point talking to Service Desk Staff or Service / Workshop manager. Get the Organ Grinder. Easy enough for the cars record to be checked. Chancers & incompetents.
  23. @IainST Welcome to the forum. Just contact Skoda UK and get all the info from the system. When exported to where from the factory and was that into the UK, so by them & First Registered in the UK. 3 years manufacturers Warranty from the Delivery, Registration, or PDI. Maybe even an Extended Warranty was bought at the time before first registration so 4 or 5 years. EDIT. PS. Obviously whatever the cars V5 says the car is an Export. Even if that is just from the Czech Republic/ EU into the UK/ EU as was, so different countries totally.
  24. ^^^ That is a good example of what is not legal in the UK if you can see the tyre when looking down from directly above.
