New price cap Oct 2022
They are still trying to work out the figures to get them to suit their needs, the inflation rates when the £400 credit is worked into things and all the rest of whatever. If the Average Duel Fuel household is paying double what they were last year and it is to be £200 a month ish with the new price cap. then they were surely only paying £100 a month last year. That does not sound like an 'Average Dual Fuel Household to me'. ........ Double what it went to in April 2022 then.

Parked car priority
No just the shop being so popular & not enough room really and those entering town not just giving any thought. Not so many HGV's but lots of tractors, harvesters etc and there is no choice they get right of way, somehow it is just muppets in certain types of cars or vans that think no way am i slowing down.

Parked car priority
@Aspmanknow were i live and what happens there. 100 yards before the edge of town going out there is a shop on the left. Cars and vans from 1 or 2 to maybe as much as 8 are parked. So as you come up the road you give way. 50 yards to the left after the cars a road to the left, and across from it almost directly a road to the right. Towards you cars coming in the now 40 mile limit and then entering the 30 limit. So you sit waiting for safe to pass, maybe cars in front and as you go that car might want to park at the shop. So there you are on the wrong side of the road, no place to go but onwards or on and left, or wait and go right. Drivers challenge you, they drive into town and keep going even though for several hundred yards they can see what is parked and what is coming. Every time almost when busiest. Regular drivers that know the story and after coming in will be going away again probably.

Parked car priority
^^^ Fair point. Location location location thing, and did apply in Gardenstown, Pennan, Crovie, Macduff etc, It certainly was harder to start with a horse and cart or a bicycle, older cars, vans, lorries etc. It was also going to be a hard hit with run away ones coming down hit into you if you could not get out the way.

Octavia mk3 1.6tdi-high diesel consumption?
The replacing the Long Life oil every 8,000 km / 5,000 miles seems excessive no matter the conditions the car is used in. Especially as it does 50,000 km / 31,000 miles a year. The high fuel consumption if there is any is probably due to regens. So much diesel used and also engine oil wasted is a real shame. Might as well drive a 2 stroke.

Parked car priority
Then there is the whole giving way to the vehicle coming down a hill if both sides of the road might have become a single vehicles width. But then people used to very hilly towns roads for years might be inclined to give way to those coming up hill.

Rear Lights: Inner tail light cluster mounted on the tailgate - Basic lights - Activate?
Reversing lights are just to let others know you are reversing. Never supposed to be like a dipped beam is to the front. If nobody there to bother then put the rear fog on when reversing.

Octavia VRS 245 FWD traction
@Codename47 your Karoq having a DQ200 7 speed twin dry clutch with the 1.6TDI is about as bad a combination that was offered along with OEM tyres. There are DQ200 vehicles that behaved pretty well from standing starts. That might not be all 1.5tsi if fitted with the DQ200 so road testing the car you are thinking on matters, not just a similar car. Wet clutch 7 DSG,s and a VAQ diff are a whole different thing.

Seat belt warning
Are you sure there should be an audible warning? Does it matter since you know if you are putting on your seat belt or not? Is a visual warning which you seem to notice not enough? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/445374-seat-belt-warning-sign

Oil warning light intermitent
@Dimitris Gavriilidis Sorry i never knew what a BXW engine was / is, i see now what you have from this thread. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506910-seat-belt-warning I hope there is not 4 litres of VW 504 00, Castrol 5w 30 FS III in the engine now. ? Are you checking the oil level when cold, then when you should, so at Normal Operating Temperature after stopping on the flat and after a few minutes.

Oil warning light intermitent
@Dimitris Gavriilidis Are you just getting a Yellow Oil Can warning light when the car is having the ignition turned on, engine not started, and then it is out, ** Just a light check.** or are you getting it anytime with the Engine running, and when you are driving. As the OP was about! http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501241-oil-pressure-warning-light-on Low oil light / symbol is yellow, or a message . Red Oil Can is Low Oil Pressure. There can be a message on the screen. If the car is set for Fixed Service Intervals then you can reset that still with the indicator stalk buttons. (Now i see you have a 2008 car then with button on dash.) If the car is set on Variable Servicing you can not. ? Before it went in for servicing what was it showing as days / km to the service and what is it showing now? This was a faulty sensor, & not just a mistake of the Oil Filter too tight, or the seal not removed when the filter changed so 2 seals on. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/330769-yellow-oil-can-flashing-3-times

Breakdown in France
Fair enough quoting £110 for a diagnosis, but being a Participating Dealer they should be telling you that the first 30 Minutes is £60 and that may be all the time needed. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/506325-kodiaq-overheating-at-random You might think this is not their full time job at a Skoda Dealership and everyday they are surprised that new issues are arriving that they never heard of ever. They love actual Warranty Issues that they still get paid for by customers just to increase the profits doing jobs they get paid for already.

Correct Tyre size
Your Speedo might actually be accurate as it over-reads as it comes from the factory. You VED / Tax band already applies and nobody is increasing it as nobody is re-testing the car.

2.0 TSI Engine Covers.
'They' said that Owners would be contacted when new covers became available. The Sales Person doing the hand over should have explained about the missing part that was paid for. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/504011-safety-recall

the truth about electric cars
Edinburgh Airport Park & Ride. Real World. 3 out of 6 Rapids were not working. 30 Mins max charging time & i got this in 30 mins this time. Had plenty time to wait for a plane to arrive so was going onto a 7 kW charger to charge cheaper but tried 3 different ones and they would not work. 4th one did and then cut out. They are 25 pence a kWh compared to 30 pence on the 22 kW charger & 35 pence on the 50 kW DS. Imagine you have parked and ride and expect your car to be charged on return. The 7 kW chargers have a max 12 hours charging time. I think people are learning this is not such a good idea here. I ended up charging back on a Rapid while it was available & paying the 35 pence a kWh. Cars blocking a charging bay hardly matters considering the end bay is Out of Order and the one at the other end not Shut down for good. Those painting the lines doing the last bay wrong does not help.

- Mk4 Diesel Vrs first service.
There was a mis setting of the service indicator than because the oil was not needing changed at 18 months /. 7,600 miles. Was the PDI done Jan 2021, and the car registered then ? No matter if you had been taking the car to the track and oil change would not have shown if on Variable Servicing.- Delivery lead-time
10 kWh @ 52 pence a KWh = £5.20 if you get 4 miles per kWh then 40 miles. Even if 70 pence a kWh if paid then 40 miles for £7 is ok. Especially if it is for business use. When you are only getting 3 miles per KWh then not so good, or when electric tariffs on public or home charging goes higher. ............ 35 pence & kWh so £6.05 and if you get only 3 miles per kWh then 52 miles. If 4.5 miles then 77.8 miles. If double the price then £12.10 for 76.6 miles if getting good efficiency.- Delivery lead-time
@TimV was that bl00dy liar telling stories about Enyaq,s built in Russia from Skoda UK or a Dealership? If they just stuck to the Russia invading the Ukraine and a lack of parts and materials for batteries that would have been ok.- Tesla Model Y SUV, will be launched on 14th March 2019
Were the tyres set at a sensible / safe pressure and the TPMS?- Tailgate ( rust )
PS. Before going all in fighting Skoda / VW UK about a 12 year corrosion warranty on a 2010 car be sure of the Warranty in 2010 and that it was for 12 years and not only 10 years. You should have that Warranty Booklet, or some proof of Warranty cover.- Tailgate ( rust )
Welcome. Do you have the Service book you got with the car in 2010 and is the page for Body Inspection filled in in 2012 when it was due to be, (Major services back then) then again any time when in for a service? Not that the Warranty T&C,s then or now said that Body Inspection Bi-Annually or periodically were required. Dealership staff might say that when rejecting claims which was not for them to do. Dealerships even said they would do Body Inspections for cars that never got Main Dealership Servicing yet were not doing it when they should have been do them. http://theguardian.com/money/2022/jul/13/why-didnt-skoda-make-its-fabia-warranty-terms-clear Someone @ the Guardian or Skoda are getting Arse & Elbow mixed up. The Paint Warranty is 3 Years and it is the Corrosion Warranty they are concerned about here and the 'Bodywork Inspection T&C's' which do nor exist. SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021.pdf Skoda UK certainly are aware of posts here sometimes. If not they will be aware of the Guardian article.... That has never changed much in recent years. The only thing seems to be them saying a Dealers & Customer Services not to listen to Social Media / Forums. But then those on Social Media / Forums seem to not pick up that they need to pay attention to cars and if they see corrosion do something about it ASAP. No point waiting for over a decade and then moaning. Or getting a used car and not knowing what has gone before with it. Skoda seems to fail to remind Dealerships that a Service is supposed to include a Body Inspection and a report of damage or poor repairs or corrosion. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/505391-treating-rust-in-tailgate SKODA_Warranty_Terms_November_2021.pdf- Treating rust in tailgate
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/479075-tailgate-rust Welcome. If it is exceptionally well cared for why is it only being picked up on now? Skoda UK will say the car should have had Body Inspections every 2 years. NEWER SKODA / VW EMPLOYEES MIGHT SAY @ 3 YEARS, BUT THAT IS BECAUSE SINCE 2020 THEY CAME UP WITH 'EXTENDED SCOPE'. THEY ARE SO NEW THAT THEY CAN NOT THING SERVICING USED TO BE MINOR / MAJOR and Fixed Servicing intervals. Back in 2010 there were Service Books and at each Service page a page for the Body Inspection report. Then and now at a Main Dealers a Body Inspection was supposed to be part of what you paid for. *If a car has a Full Main Dealer Service History, then Skoda UK know which of the Dealerships are not doing Body Inspections and reports, they have a history of where these are.* The Warranty T&C's never said then and still do not now say that an Annual or bi-annual or periodic body inspection or report are required. Saying / reporting that you see rust on a car @ 11-12 years old for the first time and expecting them to do something is a bit much IMO. http://theguardian.com/money/2022/jul/13/why-didnt-skoda-make-its-fabia-warranty-terms-clear MIX UP HERE by WHOEVER WITHOUT ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE. The Paint Warranty & Corrosion warranty are different things. The Pain Warranty expired @ 3 years. @Jim2015 is that the range that shows after doing more than say 60 miles after setting out fully charged and having almost depleted the battery?- Mk4 Diesel Vrs first service.
New cars, 1 year old, under 10,000 miles, put on a Fixed Service @ a PDI without the owner being asked really just needs what was an Oil Service up to 2020. Unless a Owner did really want more, but an extra amount paid really got nothing more at 372 days or sooner and under 10,000 miles. - Mk4 Diesel Vrs first service.
