  1. It will not impact their 'Asking Price' and as some 'used' EV's with ridiculous 'Asking prices' above the RRP selling they might well be loads of quid in. So could you be if you find a buyer and then actually get the car, paying for it then selling.
  2. There is not much to the servicing for them to miss. There is stuff that needs paying for that is not in Services, which are Oil Services & Inspections. Pollen filter each 2 years or sooner. Spark Plugs at 40,000 miles, brake fluid @ 3 years then each 2. Air filter at least looked at and checked. Bottom chart as it was until 2020.
  3. Is this an Auto gearbox specialist giving this price and them doing the job or a general garage? Have they had the car in and out for a drive? @thomasaspinor @Mickmartinmight be able to comment on pricing now.
  4. @Qmc10 Your car left the factory with Long Life Oil and on a Variable Service Regime. They all did for the UK other than Citigo, and now PHEV's. 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles. What ever comes first. At the PDI it was maybe changed to Fixed Servicing. 9,400 miles / 372 days. Or that happened at a service since the PDI. All along the Service Indicator might have had 2 messages. Oil Service, & Inspection Service and one might have been annual and the other bi-annual. It is not uncommon for those doing a service to change a customers cars service regime because they can or because they are useless and just mess things up.
  5. @BAXTVR @J.R.is a member that might be interested in your situation and might be able to offer some input.
  6. Good. As long as it got a clean out and not just as oil change.
  7. Is there any others with a car like yours or exactly the same as yours to say what they get? 14 km per litre, so 39 mpg seems pretty good for a taxi IMO for any city work, but as for where you are i have no idea. If you were getting 16 km per litre that was when your DPF was less full. Maybe get rid of your car and get a 2.0TDI, or ask your friend to swap for a day and see if you can get his fuel consumption and him the same as you. His never getting below 70 mpg is an amazing efficiency.
  8. The 1.5 TSI as your friend has had ACT. There were 1.4 TSI with or without ACT but not in a Karoq in the EU / Europe. There are in Australia though. Ps. Are 1.6 TDI,s really sounding good for long term ownership. I would rethink that. That is because of the cost if there is a failure in the SCR, and you will not get away with a delete as some have spoken of with 2.0 TDI,s. For lots of only 15 mile journeys they make no sense for long term ownership.
  9. There are people with mk4 iV,s that have a car that tells them they are getting near 190 mpg. If they could actually travel 190 miles using only 4.546 litre of fuel that would be simply clever and really marvelous.
  10. How much cheaper oil do you want to use compared to you can get 5w 30 fs III? It can be bough for much cheapness.
  11. No point declaring a modification to keep having valid insurance when the modification is illegal in the UK. You just keep your fingers crossed that if you are in an accident and someone dies or has life changing injuries even if you are not to blame, the accident investigator / officer and the loss adjuster are none the wiser. (They pay out 3rd parties and come after you for the money as you have no insurance.) They are not stupid. Also loss adjusters check your social media because they are car enthusiasts, or good at their job and like to get income. http://www.gov.uk/government/publications/diesel-particulate-filters-guidance-note/diesel-particulate-filters#
  12. It all gets confused in internet myth. The car can not be fitted with a towbar to tow. (Just like Mk1 & Mk2 Fabia vRS.) A company / employee fitting one can be doing something illegal. The owner or a mate that DIY fit a Tow Bar to carry a bike rack or a carrying rack are not law breakers or doing illegal things. The car will not fail a MOT. But it can not tow and someone might have the car, borrowed or bought and tow because there is a tow bar and they commit an offence.
  13. @BAXTVR ? Are you doing this conversion yourself and fitting this non-electrical pump? What actually have you done in the past year of dealing with the overheating other than changing the thermostat? ? How many miles has the car done, and why did you not just change the water pump or has it been changed already on a 8 year old car?
  14. No idea if there are any 1.6 TDI Karoq without SCR, i just know of ones with it.
  15. Real world with the 170 TSI DSG 4x4 Superb Estate going along the road you will probably not be aware of any rpm difference. As far as Insurance and tyres then there are many of us driving on tyres of a size not type approved for the vehicles and that includes emergency service vehicles with blue or green flashing lights. We might have declared mods though and including oversized tyres. But your insurance is for you to take responsibility for.
  16. The Karoq is using the parts / drivetrain used on VW, SEAT and Audi and there is much of a muchness. What is worth considering IMO is the short period of time that 1.6 TDI's came with SCR (AdBlue) then were discontined. I would avoid a car with SCR if getting as a keeper.
  17. @CarlstonIf the OP is changing brake pads with the caliper on and the disc fitted are you prising the pads / calipers back with screwdriver to get the tool in with the pads still fitted?
  18. @BobbsterAll quite normal as long as when you are down to UK NSL of 60 mph the indicated temp for the oil is back down about 90*oC. Do you have a TDI that did come from the factory with VW508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV? There is no tolerances according to the handbook. There is the May use as much as 0.5 litres / 1,000 km (621 miles) no way is that actually acceptable or within tolerances because VW / Skoda say it is for decades for any engine. Engines can need oil. and maybe more when new, and driving dependent, lots of cold starts etc. But not putting that much oil in within services that you might as well change the filter and not the oil as it is constantly being refreshed.
  19. On your bike. You said the tool enables you to push back the front brake caliper piston before removing the old front brake pads. I hope you are not a Mechanic or Tech training anyone because they might listen to you.
  20. @Snowr0 I assume when you say Skoda Dealer you mean someone at a Skoda Dealership and not the manager who likely knows nothing about car mechanics. ? So did you talk with a Master Tech, a Tech or even a fitter from the workshop or a Service Desk Manager who knows as much maybe as a Dealer Principal? ? Has your car had the Haldex serviced for the 2nd time yet? If so hopefully done someplace that knows about Skoda Servicing and doing things properly.
  21. @Spudskodai am curious as how you can make sure what you are doing will make an improvement because an Manufacturers Label on tyres from their testing has nothing to do with the noise you get inside a car it is an 'Exterior tyre noise rating'. You will only know once they are on and you are using them.
  22. @Hyeung Is it Skoda UK that you expect to help and are getting none from or Skoda CZ? Are you dealing with the Dealer Principal or someone else at the dealership? This is the issue with Skoda / VW UK's Customer Services. The lack of Customer Services or giving a damn.
  23. Everyday a school day. For years i have done it wrong because i remove the old pads then use the tool to push back the pistons to allow in the thicker new pads.
  24. Not all E10 / 95 ron Unleaded sold in the UK has as much as 10% bio. But then not all E5 Super Unleaded is the same around the UK.
  25. For me the funniest thing and the one most having me say arsenal to myself is people in EV's pulling into EV charger bays at supermarkets to just park because it says 'Electric cars'.
