  1. ^^^ Fair enough. If one does break then people crap themselves at the cost of a fix. Not that they do very often but then you decide, 'Do you feel lucky'. The difference might be have you had the car from new and know how and where driven or is the car a 'Pre loved' / Used / Fleet / Lease vehicle.
  2. Welcome. Sadly very common across different Skoda models for a good few years now.
  3. There are lots of EV commercials & Hybrid Taxis (Using DC chargers) going on the roads now and needing public charging. EV Van / Minibuses & Taxi manufacturers seem to be producing and importing lots.
  4. It is @3 years / 30,000 miles or sooner according to VW Group. It was Volvo that had it at 20,000 miles.
  5. People will by them or not but it is not the case that there is a shortage of used EV's if you want one, just the asking prices and even the price to pay might be ridiculous. That is much the same across the car trade though.
  6. Open the bonnet and see where the coolant level is cold. Where the oil level is cold. Then when the car has been running and the engine oil up to around 90*oC stop and check the oil level after a few minutes. Check the tyre pressures and reset if need be and reset the TPMS even if you do not adjust them. Check the tools / security socket for wheel bolts. ? Has the Haldex been serviced properly @ 3 years?
  7. If yours is a Euro 6 then it did not get THE FIX. So no flow device as with the 1.6 TDI Euro5. Yours had another software update.
  8. There are thousands of used and ex demonstrator EV's for sale in the UK from the cheapest models to the most expensive and newest. There are crazy asking prices but they are not being snapped up and are advertised for quite a while. There are cars coming into the used market all the time as plenty have been registered in the UK to help manufacturers meet their average emissions they need.
  9. EDIT. Forget this below from me. I missed your linked thread and that your car is a Euro 6 MY2016 .......................... The FIX. Had a 2 year peace of mind Guarantee. What a shame that has expired. VW caused many an issue carrying out this on vehicles. It was voluntary in the UK but many were conned into having it done. You do not just have the Sofrware Update you have the flow device inserted in the Air Intake.
  10. @Tivan Is your 2016 car actually a 2015 so a Euro 5 emission. ? Why was the VW Emissions fix done if it is a Euro 6 car?
  11. Do not keep driving it until repaired.

  13. Very possible if the oil is getting topped up with diesel and that appears to be what is the fault with yours. Surprised the mechanic did not suggest to you this is the issue.
  14. @DavidY 'Coasting' mode.
  15. @FlatjackWith what engine / gearbox?
  16. I am at 28,000 miles for less than £150 which includes buying 2 CPS cards @ £20 each. That is not any indication of what others might get in the way of much cheapness. 28,000 miles, so 7,000 kWh if it was at 4 miles per kWh @ 7 pence a kWh only £490. @ 30 pence a kWh £2,100. I get 3.1 miles a kWh, so having to charge maybe twice on a trip will be £40 @ 50 pence a kWh and the charging before and after could be free. so first 135 miles free, and 270 miles costing £40. 405 miles for £40. I am still managing to do it for free apart from the odd time paying on a charger. If doing it in an ICE getting 45 mpg that would be £75 or so.
  17. The few 32 Scottish Local Authorities that do still have free EV charging can not continue that for long and many chargers are no longer fit for purpose and the Councils Maintenance Providers can be pathetic as is the time chargers wait for repairs. Some of the Hubs already built were done using EU grant money. Over £50 of public funding has been spent & some of that was giving grants for chargers that the general public can not access anymore and some that have long since stopped working. The issue is where there are single 50kW chargers in a town or even 2 locations and out of order and the nearest towns which might not be that near also have chargers out of order and there are no Commercial chargers in the area or the route and only 7kW chargers around which is no use when travelling with places to be people including children onboard or just a driver wanting to get around Scotland not on trunk roads or the Central belt. You can cross a region boundary where it is free to charge or a fixed price of £3,80 unlimited or 30 pence with a 45 minute limit, plug in costs or up to 40 pence a kWh at a hub a few miles from Wallyford which is 30 pence and into Edinburgh it is 35 pence a kWh. We will see in just a couple of months just how much buying electric at commercial public chargers cost around the UK and at Local Authority charging points / hubs.
  18. You can still get 45+ year old cars now and drive them about. There are cars being sold just now with the newest of tech some which becomes compulsory now in the EU with new Type Approved models that i would not want to own in 5 years when out of warranty.
  19. If life was so simple with improving Turbo Diesels performance. But no problem in doing just that.
  20. ^^^ Noting that is a GTI & not a GTD.
  21. We are getting to the same as running a diesel. 15kWh @ 50 pence a kWh is £7.50 & if you get 3.5 miles a kWh then that is 52.5 miles. 4 miles a kWh = 60 miles. 15kWh @ 66 pence a kWh is £9.90.
  22. What is relevant is not about doing topping up. It is removing old gas and H20 and the disposal.
  23. ? Was that them changed 30,000 km ago, or 120,000 km / 75,000 miles ago?
