  1. The OP has had 3 years to notice that, or at least before the car went for a service.
  2. @Routemaster1461That is pretty cold inside a vehicle if it is not cold outside and in the car already. Is that the temperature that it reads in between the middle of the car or at the seats and not at a vent? How cold was it outside & what was the temperature in the car before starting it ?
  3. You splash the cash and buy the good parts. So once you can say or show what the springs and dampers are you know what you are looking at getting. Maybe what is on is just a poor choice of parts, maybe not even new when fitted.
  4. @DutyPaid Looks like more than 25 mm drop springs to me. I had not read your other threads post earlier on the work you just had completed. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/503817-today-i-purchased-a-2011-fabia-14-vrs-estate-could-you-please-advise-one-a-couple-of-things ? Have you bought the car from someone else after Swanz Motors were selling it? ? Is all well with the engine and oil use, and is it the original engine still fitted? PS. The advice you asked for from others on here is what you need & from those with estates will certainly help to get to sort the suspension. Standard springs and dampers are certainly not what you want. Near 10 years on now from here and there are plenty with experience of estate upgrades. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/253970-vrs-estate-lowering-springs-fitted
  5. From some pictures of what is fitted someone here could probably tell you if it is H&R, Eibach, ST or whatever springs that are fitted and what the dampers might be. Here was the advert i had saved.
  6. Ask someone to put it on a ramp so you can get pictures then. Maybe where you had the tyres fitted.
  7. I spotted the car a while back when it was up for sale and I had seen the car before with the front lip in black. £500 to £600 will not go far if you are paying a garage to do the work. It would be good to know what springs and dampers are on. You might even get some cash money flogging them. PS. Can you really not change a wheel if you get a puncture?
  8. @DutyPaid Can you take off a front and rear wheel then and get pictures of the springs and dampers so you can be told what is on the car?, & is there a rear anti roll bar fitted now?
  9. Good if you have a garage that knows the cars. Is this your car? @Mickmartin& others will be able to help. & a member @Damian@DPM will be along maybe from http://dpmperformance.co.uk that can help.
  10. Someone will be along with suggested suspension parts to suit. Your estate looks lowered already in that picture, you might not be interested in what is fitted but best look and see and maybe post some pictures. Is it just lowering springs that are fitted now, good ones, cheap ones, expensive ones that you do not like, or springs and dampers and is it worn out bushes or upgraded ones etc. Poly Bushing maybe! Power Flex.
  11. @AYES Welcome. There are plenty members here in various countries with the cars and they can tell you if their cars have the issue. It is certainly not all cars that will have this.
  12. Sorry i know nothing about them. Which system is in which model etc. Maybe best this question in the Superb section. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/478047-columbus-dynamic-route- recalculation-due-to-tmc-traffic-notifications http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/394073-no-tmc-traffic-info
  13. @Carlstonregardless of what the 'Importer' for whatever country decided they might not offer the Skoda Rapid with in the way of wheel size that does not stop someone fitting 17" rims and all they really need to know is what tyre size they need. Surely the driver know where they drive and what the potholes are like. There are big potholes on some roads in the UK. Driving at big potholes is never 'simply clever' even if you have 16" rims and a bit more sidewall.
  14. Best you ask in the Mk3 section because i have no idea what bad Euro 6 TSI's you are reading about.
  15. Welcome. You can be certain that it is a TSI because that is all there is for a 2017 2.0l petrol. (Unless it happens to be a diesel and then it will be a TDI.)
  16. The Owner / Driver / Fleet Operator etc decides. The cars leave the factory on Variable / Flexible Servicing. They might get changed to Fixed Servicing because a Dealership decides, their employee, there is a Service Plan with Fixed Servicing etc. The customer might ask for it. The cars come with Long Life Oil and can be serviced Fixed Servicing or Variable / Flexible servicing. https://volkswagen.co.uk/en/owners-and-drivers/servicing/service-plans/service-schedules.html With petrols the oil can be changed and Long Life oil not used and Fixed Servicing carried out, or still long life oil used and fixed service intervals.
  17. This Skoda chart gives a general idea, but that is all. DQ200 DSG's have no Oil Changes at 4 years / 40,000 miles & DQ381's are @ 80,000 by Skoda Recommendations / Guidelines or even Schedule. There is no mention even of VAQ Front diffs @ 30,000 miles / 3 years. (That is not a 4x4 system.)
  18. Do not do lots of short journeys from cold starts so where the engine oil is not getting up to the correct and efficient operating temp is something that applies with just about all engines. You need to get the engine and oil up to temp regularly. & do oil and filter changes according to how the car is used. As to anything particular for your engine i have no idea sorry.
  19. If you were driving a DSG it would be into 4th or maybe 5th anyway. Just go to higher gears and bumble along keeping to the speed limit and drive what feels right and do not let the engine big down.

@Carlston Stance, style, looks, sitting parked, not really about taking to a track. Do you really do this this 'Much better handling stuff' yourself? The Scout is the weight of an elephant before you load it up and use it as a passenger / family car. When driving on roads with 60 mph NSL's and potholes and ruts and all sorts the cars handle pretty much as they do and accelerate as much as you need when you push the accelerator. What 'Ultimate driving machine' do you truck about in? ? Is that your black car? (The front tints look like the driver could get points on their licence in the UK.)
  21. Until then the UK has a few decades worth of ICE vehicles that are not getting taken off the crap roads in the 4 countries. Not even a reliable digital radio signal, mobile signal, or GPS in parts of the British Isles in 2022. Many areas grind to a halt with a bit of snow on the roads in the UK and VW Group which is the biggest or 2nd biggest car manufacturers in the world can not sort out Software glitches with Lane Assist, KPH/ MPH, SOS etc. So traffic moving about automously has a way to go yet if the German Manufacturers are going to be leading the way. Once the HGV Convoys are running the motorways of the UK and the driverless busses and vans are in towns and cities we will see how the taxis and hire cars and private vehicles get on. There are driverless busses running in Scotland now with a driver present obviously. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-61216302
  22. others have been posting the same in other sections. If you have a keeper then makes sense @ £215 or less.
  23. That is on vehicles 3-10 years old on Fixed Servicing at participating dealers. It is said that Skoda subsidise the cost. Rubbish though. But then there are Dealerships that charge that for 1 and 2 year old cars, and even £99 or £100 for a 1st year Oil & Filter change. Because that is enough to do that work and make a profit. £119 here. Maybe some need to update their website, or maybe they are current as are the prices. https://listers.co.uk/servicing/skoda/fixed-price See **EXCLUDES CITIGO & vRS models** https://www.winchestermotorgroup.co.uk/skoda/servicing-offers/skoda £200 Oil & Inspection Service. Valid to Jan 1st 2023. 1-10 year old. https://www.pulmanskoda.co.uk/servicing/fixed-price-servicing
  24. @EnterName Apparently the DQ381 DSG Service Interval is @ 80,000 miles and members have been having this confirmed in writing. That should apply with all of them in any models. The first threads on that were in the Octavia Mk3 section. First was about the DQ380. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470669-dq380-service-schedule http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/482244-dq381-service-intervals
  25. I love those at Dealerships when they talk about voiding a Warranty. Unauthorised by the factory software or hardware is what it says in the Warranty T&C's and there might be more stuff. Not originally fitted etc. But when you buy your car, own your car and it's ECU, wiring etc and something has not been enabled on the vehicle but can be enabled and a Dealership would even do it for a fee or it could have been if you paid extra when buying the car, that must be Factory Approved software. Just the function not enabled.
