  1. Advertising on Briskoda for the small fee is worthwhile.
  2. @patrolman How much do they charge you for the Haldex oil change with a proper clean out, or do you do that yourself?
  3. Welcome. What engine has your car got? Is it Standard to a Elegance, Greenline, petrols or diesels etc compared to a those on a Monte Carlo TSI / TDI or a vRS do you mean? Someone will have the part numbers. The dampers (shocks) are not different as new cars were sold / delivered 2010-2014/15 Fabia Monte Carlo Mk2 and vRS were available with Eibach Springs as an Option. These were fitted at the Dealers at the PDI. The dampers were not changed, they had the Standard Shocks for the 1.2 TSI / Tdi Monte Carlo. Which Skoda called Sports Suspension. (Only the name was sporty)

Eco / Coasting can work in the right locations / driving conditions and very much so with a diesel. Maybe an idea to try driving in different modes on different type trips and see how things go. For my part driving from Perth to Glasgow used more fuel than from Glasgow to Perth on the same route & including the 23 mile stretch of average speed cameras between Stirling & Perth. Reason being there is more longer downhill stretches heading back north. Doing the same route a few times weekly for years and you get to know just when your toe can be off the accelerator and the same speed is maintained.
  5. @PetrolDaveJust jesting. Single person on a bike should surely be allowed, but not if riding a tandem. .
  6. £140 is so much better than the Skoda Main Dealers participating in the Skoda Fixed Price Service & Maintenance Deal on 3-10 year old cars who charge £215, or sometimes even more!!

E5 or E10 filled up in Scotland will be a false economy for @Csloggas it will just need drained from the TDI Karoq. AA / RAC or Greenflag recovering the car south will save fuel in the Karoq.
  8. @EspenSolgaard You or i or whoever decide what you like and others who are maybe young and not hung up on how cars have been for decades can decide what they like the look of. If people like traditional looks and stylee over function they can fill their boots. As to EV's that are actually green and saving the planets resources then eventually things need to change because big fat vehicles that are not that efficient is ridiculous. If you used the quote as it is posted and not just part of the sentences you will see it was about 'efficiency, weight and getting the vehicles along the road.
  9. Maybe post a picture, like the one the dealership employee should have taken. ? Are they talking about treating the rust, painting / lacquering and then applying some paint protection? Or is this about corrosion at a seam / weld on the car and the sealer applied at the factory? If the rust / corrosion was there 2 years ago the detailer should have spotted rust or any issue with the damage at a seam and sealer. Unless a visually impaired detailer. It should be a good job, but not necessarily one you should be paying for. **Living by the sea does not explain it. Bird Poo on the roof might, but that would be since the car was detailed 2 years ago. ** The issue that others had with seam sealer and a fault at the factory does go towards explaining the rust. Not that a Dealership employee might want to mention that as obviously it will be something they never heard of. A Paint Defect even out of the paint warranty should be reported to an Approved Repairer who should have a Warranty Manager or a grown up look at the area, then get pictures and then deal with the Warranty Provider. As per the T&C's in the Warranty. It is not the Corrosion Warranty as the panel has not a hole, but it is a known issue, and it is Skoda CZ and UK that know. If you are happy enough to pay and not bother with any hassle with Skoda who will knock back your claim then fine. The Bodyshop will have staff that know if they have had to do a repair in the same area before and if that was Warranty Work, Dealership car preparation for a sales car or just customer paid for work.

No because you will be driving all types of roads and speed limits and going with the traffic flow. Select your driving style to economic driving and that will make a difference. Set the tyre pressures and reset the TPMS. Enjoy the trip.
  11. Welcome. I take it you are using someplace with the best of reputation and reviews. The fully qualified and professional painter that you are employing will be the best to advise you. They should have all the gear and more than ideas to give better than a factory finish that matches the rest of the car. (The factory finish has rust on the roof!) PS Have you asked the detailer you used 2 years ago who they would recommend to do the rust removal and repainting? ? Why is there rust, was the roof damaged?
  12. John Prescott bus lanes were a failure. COP26 had special routes/ Lanes for special people. Proper road maintenance would be a good start. Road tax bands for EV,s with how many pence per mile charged on the cars unladen weight will be the easiest using the technology almost available if actual GPS and / mobile and radio reception was available UK wide. Which it is not. EDIT,. A Google shows Philip Hammond MP had a more recently bus lane folly.
  13. 7 1/2 hours of Thomas in big EV's with not many people in them. About sums up how many big EV's are driven about. The UK Chancellor needs to start implementing Congestion Charges & Road Duties on the weight of EV vehicles, widths and lengths. Smart technology should be able to tell the road side equipment when a vehicles seats are unoccupied by a human persons bum. Charge the vehicles driver extra on journeys for each seat unoccupied when in towns / cities etc.
  14. @LcKirby Welcome. What engine does your car have & how old and why is the coolant dropping? (I know coolant can be lost but is it slowly over a long time with your engine) Is it a 1.4TDI? If so see the linked thread at the top of the section.
  15. Best get the gen from someone here if it has a VAQ or not, and if they are not even sure and they have done the DSG and not the VAQ then maybe really think on. Is the deal that good and there is nothing up here to suit, maybe in the for sales on Briskoda. Or post a Wanted ad.
  16. Someone here can maybe confirm if the 2015 230 has a VAQ front Diff. If so that should have been serviced twice by now. 3 years / 30,000 miles. Maybe the salesperson can ask the master Tech.
  17. Good. They have put on a Warranty and if not serviced to manufacturers recommendations then they know that or as it might be do not know. (if we bought an extended warranty and the DSG oil change was 26,000 miles overdue that would probably void it.) Hopefully a record of the spark plugs changed and Air & Pollen filter changed if not before now. Look in the Air Box and see if a new or fresh air filter.
  18. What warranty are you getting. If it is the 1st DSG oil change and 26,000 mile late you need one.
  19. The Dealership always needs to talk with the Warranty Advisor and the Master Tech knows what to tell them and the repair needs approval because it is expensive. Not as expensive as if a Customer was paying the bill though. If it needs a MCU then that is a formality and they might well drag out 'On back order' and all that jazz. As long as they have the trained and qualified technician then there is no need to turn a crisis into The goose that lays the golden egg. PS It is surprising that it needs a MCU but is OK to drive now or until the new MCU is fitted.
  20. Some countries / VW Brands have approved Tuning like Remaps / Tuning boxes. So Factory Approved. (Extended Warranty Approved possibly.) Audi, VW, SEAT & Skoda. Some Skoda Dealers in the UK were REVO Dealers and they told Customers that the Manufacturers Warranty was valid with their remap. They were not though. Just fill your boots with modifying the car and do not expect a Warranty to cover it unless it is a Warranty the Tuner sells or provides and which is worth the paper it is written on. There are overseas tuners that sell products and warranties and these Remaps / Tuning Box with a proper Warranty are lots more expensive than anything in the UK that you will be buying.
  21. Obviously they will not accept someone elses diagnosis. But the Skoda Fixed Price Service & Maintenance at Participating dealers on 3-10 year old cars is £60 for the first 30 minutes. If you hand the keys and can tell them what you believe the issue to be then 30 minutes might be all the 'Man / Woman with all the gear and more than just ideas' might need to pinpoint the fault. Unless dismantling is required. Someone has to pay for peoples time. If the Warranty covers repairs the diagnostic time might not need paying by you. I would check the Haldex Filter as a matter of course if the service was 14,000 miles a go. That is while trying to find the source of the noise, coupling, wheel bearing, rear diff or whatever.
  22. @ChrisLFC Welcome. When you had the oil changed did you dip it cold and see where the oil was and then at operating temp so that you know whoever did the oil change had enough oil in the engine? Are you sure now that the 'At operating temperature' oil level check shows you have the correct quantity of oil in now?
  23. If it is a fault that the warranty will cover then that you will not need to pay for. Finding the fault yourself will be free or what ever you have to pay someone else to find it, or the dealership is going to cost you. ? How many miles has the car done and was the Haldex properly serviced at 3 years /30,000 miles, not just an oil change?
  24. If you find the price of the part from Skoda you can let other know.
  25. It is very important than anyone picking up any demonstrator or media car for roadtesting goes and checks the tyre pressures to see they are safe and not overinflated. Sadly vloggers / bloggers and even car dealers like the British one that sells Tesla EV,s and others comment on the ride without even knowing what the tyre pressures are at. Too many EV,s and ICE vehicles are handed over with overinflated tyres. That is careless / incompetent or just trying to have the car getting more range. Tesla handing over new Y,s with the pressure at a 'in transit' pressure on green tyres is inexcusable. PS. EV,s need to stop looking like traditional cars and get more and more efficient getting their weight along roads. Traditional looks and grills and bling for the sake of it needs changing and less use of energy to build and run what are pretty heavy vehicles is what needs changing. Then testers on their own in 5,6,7 seat EV,s commenting on the ride need to consider what will the car handles like fully loaded not as most people use SUV,s,. Under occupied / not near revenue weight. 7 1/2 hours of Thomas.
