the truth about electric cars
Sadly there are reports of a child having died & another injured when a BMW electric car has struck them after crashing through a fence and onto a sports / rugby pitch. The story will be coming out about what happened and why. That the car is an EV and is powerful and fast accelerating and did not come from a Public road but from a car park has been said in the news. Time will tell if that has anything to do with it. I do hope that the Vloggers where ever they are in the world wait for for the Why, Where, How etc to come out. BBC article says a man arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Skoda Warranty
The OP,s threads / posts on the car are about a manual.

Skoda Warranty
@johnrogers Who at the Dealership, the Service Desk Staff? Get them to write that down then, and sign it. Is your car under 60,000 miles and so 3 years? Is it serviced to the Manufacturers Guidelines, Schedule, Specification, Advice? Has it had any relevant Software Updates or Recall Actions?

Elroq: Who else has ordered?
There is a website that gives, Seat Height, Floor to seat height, Sill Heights etc etc. for different cars, i used to look at the link to it on the Motability Website. http://ridc.org.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/choosing-car/car http://ridc.org.uk/features-reviews/out-and-about/car-search http://ridc.org.uk The Ground Clear (Road to low point under car) & Roof height of a car really does not give a try idea of the ease of in & out, and getting legs in or dirty sills / legs with vehicles. Stupid Sill attachments / trims can be a PITA, As can sill to floor height. Nothing beats getting in and out of the vehicles at road side or kerb side though. Drivers / Passengers.

Skoda Warranty
Manufacturers warranty in the UK 3 years from first registered. That will be the same as when the first MOT is due. So warranty to March 2026. Exclusions in T&C,s on the after first 6 months / 6,000 miles. You can read the Warranty on a Skoda UK website. ? What or where are you finding conflicting information? Reading and understanding the Warranty and what is and what is not covered is quite important.

Sportline Edition
No. It is stuck. Put in dry. Sorry i see now that @Redboy had quoted you.

Sportline Edition
@Redboy 'Warm' is Wrong for the Oil Check. It is At Normal operating temperature, so 90*oC or so indicated. HOT was what VW Group used to say. only check cold to see there is oil, or with 1.2 44 kW engines. Compare Cold / warm and at Normal Operating te,perature. It is basic stuff, just Skoda translate wrong from German to Czech to English.

Gearbox Service Help
**** If you have a VAQ (Front diff) Servicing on Mk3,s is @ 3 years / 30,000 miles. Some say 20,000 if car tracked etc.... Mk4,s Main Dealers if they bother telling you might now say they are @ 20,000 miles / 2 YEARS. They need doing...Properly. ................... Always Call a Friend, Ask The Audience and take things with a pinch of Salt. Not everything published is correct.

Gearbox Service Help
Do it right for a DQ381, not as with a DQ250. VAQ Diffs, (Front) Mk3,s @ 3 years / 30,000 miles done properly. Some say, tracked / hard use @ 20,000 miles. MK4,s if a Dealership even bother to tell you might now say @ 20,000 miles / 2 Years. Plenty cars not done. That can cost you. They need Serviced Properly. .................. Pointless really doing oil changes without filters being changed. Or when screens then cleaned at least. Properly cleaned.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher yes plenty examples. Down south the citizens seem to think cheap electricity is their birth right. If you had been putting up wind turbines and not messing about with getting the nuclear built and not expecting electricity from others countries / regions then maybe the Solar could be in waste ground or ex industrial if which there is plenty if used. If build homes on that rather than on Green Belt. All my life there had been adverts and schemes to insulate homes. Yet we are still 60 years on building crap properties and with poor building regs in England. And somehow people in there old age are cold. Have they been someplace for 60 years where they missed out on insulating properties?

Confused about Timing belt change interval.
@Alasdair1 you are not going to be DIYing a 1.5 TSI ACT unless your can hire / borrow the equipment. Doing TDI,s are a fat simpler Fish Kettle.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher the real point is that very successfully there is farming crops and livestock . Carse of Gowrie one of the first and biggest solar farms in Scotland. Stewart potatoes and the Graemes milk ice cream and crisps and there solar. The water board in Perth and many many other sites in Scotland with solar and not land wasted or unproductive. Plenty threads about it in the forum if you bother looking.

No Engine cover?>>
There was a full on DVSA safety critical recall to and a Skoda / VW service campaign. For 2.0 TSI,s. Nothing for 1.5 TSI,s. @Woodsy321 there is a small cover with an oil fillet cap in the middle. Plenty other similar posts. With pictures even.

Man-Made Climate Change: The Need for Immediate Action
As far as solar and loss of agricultural land, it can be erected and sheep can still be there sheltering or eating. Ever little helps and there is always land around car parks or shopping malls where solar can be erected. Council land, common good land etc.

DSG service.
They get serviced by miles not years and DSG type dependent. Sooner than the guidelines if you want.
-
DSG service.
Main dealers are saying 2nd service before a filter change with a DQ381. If you were doing the first at 80,000 then this is stupid to then leave to 160,000. They might not want the messy job of the filter change. Well do not go to them. They are a waste of time. Like the places that say they will not service a DQ381 early. Be sure to have an extended warranty. The early failure rate is ridiculous.

Overhaul tips appreciated
Jo reggelt, I mean let it live a life Do you really need a bit quicker acceleration? If the car runs we'll keep it doing so with servicing and no upping the power. Just my thoughts.

AdBlue tank not reading levels correctly. Non Start Warning
When you say you topped up it would be useful to say how much went in. Was that all the 10 litres that you bought?
-
Overhaul tips appreciated
I would not be remapping it. Leave to die gracefully, maybe do many more km without issues.

the truth about electric cars
Dundee makes no electricity. Where does he get Where they make lots of cheap renewables energy? From. 2 wind turbines at the Ex Michelin factory. SWARCO / CPS headquarters. There is energy coming ashore 15 miles away and arriving out at Tealing substation from the wind farms. Solar farms being refused within 20 miles of Dundee. There is Battery Storage in Dundee.
