  1. At least EV batteries are not slipping through the transportation and storage mistaken for Lithium Batteries from Computers, Scooters, Bikes etc.
  2. Daytime / Daylight Running Lights, meant to burn bright, they are for people and drivers to see in Sunlight / times when it is not Headlight / Sidelight time. ie In good visibility.
  3. May use 0.5 litres in 1,000 km. 621 miles that is. 1 litre in 1,242. Not that it should in the UK conditions, weathers, no HIGH MOUNTAIN PASSES, towing an elephant in HIGH SUMMER. First 5,000 miles has been mentioned in Owners Manuals for decades along with the other stuff. In the first 10,000 km it is Simply Cleaver to check the oil level. When you get the car and occasionally and top up if required and not wait for warning lights. Or trust the full quantity of oil is in the engine when you get it.
  4. Sadly getting only too common. Best look at any of the threads covering DQ381,s.
  5. It can be the lights seal, it can be the rear flap, rear of car behind, actually in front of the bumper, it can be the hatch seal. Look at the Threads, these are just some of the many.
  6. Welcome. Always worth doing a search on this forum.
  7. If you do get a Long Life 5w 40 FS III so to VW 504 00 / 507 00 i very much doubt it will reduce the oil consumption.
  8. VED for £40,000 and over as it is up to April 2025.
  9. @Antscran I know it was a few years back but who put in too much oil, and then when you posted there was plenty oil were you not checking as you should with the oil at operating temperature and seeing that it was overfilled?
  10. @Stonekeeper Took me a while to find the letter required about PIP award and points and expiry date for Blue Badge application. Expiry is 2030 and now with the Scottish Department rather than UK. Applied online 2 days ago and accepted for renewal today. What a palaver the Online Application was. Paid for the Badge online tonight. Again they did not make it straight forward.
  11. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/361134-oil-spray-jets-squirters-14-tsi-tfsi-132-136-kw-twincharger/page/8 I asked a Mod to move the thread to the Fabia Mk2 section. This below was posted by me.
  12. Sorry, could not link, search the thread. Some say worked. Oil Use Thread pinned at top of Fabia Mk2 Section. Last pages will be enough reading.
  13. What was done other than the Oil & Filter service yesterday? ? Was it taken for a road test. Was the car plugged in and then the Tech says no Fault Codes, DSG all good. Or was a Reset done with the DSG?
  14. @Cantagar What was checked / done. Car going OK, checked as OK and now faulty!
  15. It does sound like that. But it can be the less expensive Selector Forks. It can be the Clutch Packs. The car / DQ200 was too new to get Service Campaign '34F7', Oil changed to Mineral and software. Maybe built too early to get '34H5' 2013-2015. Software Update. Preventative. The ones inbetween that got nothing sometimes show the 'Flashing White Spanner'. Did this not come up?
  16. The past weeks of the temperature being around or below freezing the miles par kWh on my 1 mile run down to the car park has shown 2.1 -3 miles. Up by 10 degrees C this morning and it shows this. EDIT. Back up to home and it was at 1.7 miles or so.
  17. Haldex was £90 without cleaning or changing Filter @ Main Dealers, went to £110. . DSG,s have been over £200 for a few years now. Maybe £175 with a DQ250 at an independent. 4 Years ago. Cars 3-10 year old Fixed Price at Main Dealers Fixed Price Servicing. It can be cheaper at Main Dealers not Participating. Bottom, They know how to charge...That was 3 years ago.
  18. @Yogi-Bear Was that on a DQ381 DSG or a DQ500? That just covered the cost of the Consumables not even the labour? Are you certain that is what the charged and the filter was changed. @SimonB68 DSG,s like a DQ250 or a DQ381 are not serviced by year and a DQ250 is not at 4 years unless that is @ 40,000 miles, a DQ381 is at 80,000 miles or sooner, but 4 years is not relevant.
  19. @J.R. We never all came up the Clyde in a rowing boat, some of us have been here as long as you and are still here on the northern side of the Channel.
  20. Not a DVSA Blogger. Government website
  21. Tanks are vented. Caps seal so that when the vehicle is upside down the fuel is not escaping from the filler pipe / cap.
  22. Does the reputable company advertise that they remove DPF,s? A nod is as good as a wink to a blind man. The DVSA ^& DfT are not taking it too seriously.
  23. It seems simple enough. 'Brake dust is more toxic than diesel car emissions.' * brake dust is from diesel, cars, vans and lorries, petrol cars and vans, and BEV,s be them cars or vans'. & it is being spun as though worse with BEV,s.'
