Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
Cold weather testing the car that has been getting spun by VW for years now. So as long as Norway is between cold, warm and freezing while testing it might be a bot UK ish. When they just test in dry cold that is very in-UK like. They certainly parked where the car will get more Social Media cover than if they were doing their own leaks using VW Factory Insiders.

10k a year - what should my service interval be?
@Seymansey Your car left the factory on Variable Servicing so it was down to you to ask to have it changed to be on Fixed Servicing. Some do it without asking and owners can be unhappy. If you want your cars oil changed or serviced before 24 months / 18,000-20,000 miles then just book it in to be done and ask to have the servicing changed to Fixed which is Yearly / 9,400 miles. If doing 10,00-12,000 miles a year maybe leave on Variable but get the cars Oil & Filter servicing done annually or when you want. Electric tailgate doesn't work
@Rockinghorse When Skoda UK get a properly qualified Technician to work on your DSG they can do the other warranty work that whoever has been at your car is not capable of sorting.

Automatic gearbox issues
? Was your car one that required a Software Update already on the Engine or the DQ200 DSG? It might well be a new MCU (Mechatronic Control Unit) as well as an ECU. I hope they have you in a nice courtesy car while you are out of your own car. EDIT. So there was issues already. SOFTWARE UPDATES CARRIED OUT. Time really that Skoda UK get Skoda CZ to move their backends. I would be getting Kate Laws involved if she is still there suffling papers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496318-automatic-gearbox-issues

A 21 pence a kWh for electric tariff @ home just now is damn good for an EV if you get 3 miles per kWh so 40 kWh will take you 120 miles for £8.40 (that is where i am at currently if i did charge at home, but actually i am only getting 2.7 miles per kWh so 108 miles.) Even if anyone with that now as a tariff gets that increased in April it will still be costing them less than running a Petrol or Diesel. Paying 40 pence plus for public charging is not a that much of a saving. Where we will be by October with any electric / gas, petrol or diesel prices is anyone's guess. Where we are with the risk of shortages or rationing if there is a war in Eastern Europe is also anyone's guess but very possible.

Delivery times?
The World wide recall in 2012/13 on 2009-2012 DQ200 did not include Europe and there was no Software Update in Europe until 2014. '34F7'. (There were late build 2012 DQ200's that there was no update for and to this day Skoda / VW say they never needed them as they have Mineral Oil from the factory and the correct software.) Then the 2013-2015 DQ200's that required the Software update did not get that started until 2017. '34H5'.

@Omniking What car was that you were getting that had arrived at the dealership from the factory with an outstanding TPI for a Software Update on the DSG?

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
@cheezemonkhai There have for decades been heater systems / elements for washers and used in Motorsport or on road, also offroad. There were some like me that used a pipe wrapped around a manifold on Offroaders and that then provided a source of heat to the washer bottle and hoses right up to the nozzles that did not freeze. Heated nipples have been around a long time. There is an issue though spraying liquid even if still fluid into very cold ambient temps and on to a cold screen like you had in Land Rovers or other vehicles. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/445874-screen-washer-frozen Taking the Fluid container into the cabin and maybe just in a door pocket area and the pipes going from behind the dash to spray makes sense with EV's and the washer bottle can be part of the cars heating system.

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
There is a Czech Manufacturer (Not Hyundai) that have not yet managed after over a century of building cars to have ones that the fuel flap does not freeze shut. There is a German Manufacturer that has still to be able to procure or manufacture door seals that keep H20 out of vehicles. As the decades go on there is more issues of VW Group cars that steam up in just normal western European weather. But Skoda are now all about testing, refining, checking quality control. Things can only get better. Once they get the hang of Software and not getting it in-house. No idea what went wrong last year or with Plug in Hybrids that have 12 volt batteries going flat. Even Enyaqs with Flat 12 volt batteries. Going into shut down / Sherpa mode should not leave a vehicle dangerous to the occupants or other road users, http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/501382-enyaq-warnings-and-information-unavailable-drive-carefully Maybe several times is less than a driver wants to be able to stop and start a car.

A Full fix or Buy Backs will happen in a country where a court can tear VW Group / Skoda a new hole. That might well not be a UK country but it could be a European one like in one of the 4 countries of the UK. Time will tell. Where? I am not defending Tesla in any way. But updates as updates available are different from fixing faults that should have been dealt with at the earliest reports is another mater. VW Group RECALLS are few and far between, Recall Actions / Service Campaigns, Skoda Secret Service Campaigns where Registered Keepers are not contacted and a vehicle needs to be in for a service and the driver might or not be told is common and has been even when there are World Wide Recalls which excludes Europe / EU customers because they are not in the World, just the part where VW can assure authorities that matters are not Safety Critical so they will deal with them.

Software
Tesla are in trouble in some world regions for Heat Pump failures out of warranty. Also for Software that they have had to provide because what the customer had received was not what they believed they were buying and paying for. https://www.theverge.com/2021/5/24/22451101/tesla-fine-norway-throttle-battery-charging-speed https://www.thedrive.com/news43915/tesla-issues-quick-fix-after-tesla-report-heaters-failing-in-extreme-cold As to Tesla doing updates that is as many Manufacturers do. You do not sell faulty cars and expect the buyer to just wait until they get them fit for purpose and get away with it as the VW Group are doing. Stellantis have had to do software updates and are continuing to. Releasing vehicles with software or hardware faults that are already known because vehicles had already been taken off the road and owners are driving loan cars while a fix is being tried out on other customers cars as has happened with Mk4 Octavia in the UK is a whole different can of worms.

Who or what is the biggest threat to SKODA?
Anyone's doubts on buy a Skoda and it being less than perfect should be a thing of the past if this video is to be believed. No dodgy vehicles of poor quality should be reaching customers and if there happens to be any then Skoda are there to be right onto it. Investigating and dealing with issues. No need for Skoda UK to be telling a car owner that their car is being used as a Test Case in the UK and the Factory are working on a fix, like with Software / Hardware. As in examples in the Mk4 Octavia section of Briskoda.

Software
BS on testing really as Skoda must have decided that will do for now just lets cars out and first registered and stuff can get updated later.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
Someplace along the line someone must have decided to just get cars out with less than perfect software and hardware components & just signed them off to be sorted out with updates done sometime someplace maybe if enough people complained & if VW could do their customers cars first.

Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
@Rodders45 Welcome. The thing is that 2020 & 2021 was not usual. In 2021 when Skoda were going to get to 55,000 vehicles built but not finished and bunkered they were going to stop production. So the just in time minus a few parts production had taken place. As to painting on the production line the colour can change from vehicle to vehicle in the painting, they are not running through vehicles of one colour all one after another. In the past a Shortage of pigment was blamed for White not being a Np extra cost Colour. 2021 first 7 months Skoda were boasting how well the production and delivery was going. As to getting vehicles built and out. VW Group including Skoda were making sure that the requirements to meet the Average C02 on cars First Registered to not mean that VW Group would be fined as they were for missing the figures in 2020. So lower polluting vehicles were essential to get out, EV's, Plug in and Mild Hybrids & what ever. Even getting ones Registered that did not have buyers waiting on them other than Dealers or those that VW use to get cars delivered to while there were customers waiting on vehicles ordered that were not lower emissions. https://briskoda.net/forums/topic/491718-most-popular-skoda-model-2020

Questions about the 2013 Skoda Fabia Estate TSI?
There are 2015 Mk3 Estates advertised at around £7,000 & that is the asking price so not necessarily the price you need to pay. Ones on Autotrader and elsewhere. @Mickmartinposted in the thread about bike carriers that he gets 3 bikes in his estate so he can maybe comment when he see this.

Questions about the 2013 Skoda Fabia Estate TSI?
Welcome. What are you looking at a 1.2 TSI or a 1.4 TSI vRS? Mk3 Estates are available but there are not going to be Mk4 Estates. There is one member in the Mk4 section register with a Hatch and they are not in the UK.

Home Charger Options
Are there any Providers with good tariffs for off peak / EV charging that you can join now it they are not who you are currently with? I have not charged or pre heated at home this Winter so far other then for 1 hour so that was less than 3 kWh. This month i have had 600 plus miles using PodPoint for under £13 on the 50 kW charging and the rest from free 7 kW charging. Then another 600 miles on free charging with CPS. Also i paid BP Pulse £8.50 for 2 charge sessions.

They lack the 'Cloak of Invisibility' so maybe not for those that like to get down the road a bit quicker than traffic around them. Perfect for that person in the Safety Partnership camera van up on a flyover to zero in on.

FOG LIGHT N/S REAR
@DensYeti What will you have to prove to the MOT man? He or She will be testing cars regularly with only a single rear fog light.

Winter roads, ice, snow and wet or dry driving in an EV..
It is the windscreen wash not coolant. Only works if the pipes and nozzles are heated and not sitting frozen when you start the car if not pre-heated.

Oil temperature and DPF
What milage had the car done and when was the oil changed last? Is it 5w 30 FS III that is used. So to VW 504 00 / 507 00.

Oil temperature and DPF
So best check if showing not affected because the fix was done. Is there a sticker in the spare tyre well? Ask Skoda UK customer services if not affected because they already were allowed to tick your car off the list?. Easy to look for the flow device in the air intake.
