WTF WOW EV
Good to get the story behind this car. The batteries / BCM ect might be of interest to @Wino& others.

Noisy Tyres...
@royalrolandHave you checked and adjusted the tyre pressures you received the car with and reset the TPMS? Does a few PSI up or down within the safe limits of the load you have in the car make any difference to the road noise you are hearing? OT. There are tyres designed and manufactured for use on EV's now, some have them as OEM, but that does not make them suitable or a good choice for fitting to ICE vehicles.

Superb IV - L&K 1 year on
& the downside of being liable to rises in the cost of charging as gas, oil and electric prices rise. Then there is the requirement of the Mobile / Sim network that has chargers able to communicate and authorise users cards, or take payments where required. So just as Filling Stations need their own back up generators if power supplies go down or there are outages that is no use if they can not take card payments and customers have no cash. EV Drivers are going to maybe need to get to a charger at a home or business with a charger or a 3 pin plug and electricity unless they have battery storage. Maybe a generator running fossil fuels if the power all goes down for days as it has near the A9 or on Arran in the not too distant past.

Powder coating once all the current coating is removed.

Fuel tank punctured and diesel stolen
There will be smart people that can repair plastic tanks but H&S for legit companies will still have the tank removed to do it, and clean inside. Screwing a big self tapper in and doing a bit of plastic welding might be happening at 'Kerb Side Auto's around the country right now and that vehicle will be running around again. Total spending being a quid. Risk of Petrol or Diesel leaks according to which flavour the engine runs on.

Two services for £79
Clearly the dealership were making sure doing this service was worth their while. They are are at it. Skoda UK know they are 'At it'. So they should have asked if you wanted plugs changed & if so charged £105. The Pollen Filter is £35 extra. Next Year extras to pay if you want done as well. Brake Fluid £65 & Cam Belt £500 if doing it on a low mileage car

Potential new owner DSG advice
Not if you know how the car should feel and it then drives as it should. If you are not familiar with them best take someone that is.

Potential new owner DSG advice
Sorry but the DQ200 can always be at the risk of the Clutch Packs requiring replaced or a MCU / Actuator issues but if it runs well that is all you can know. How many miles has it done, are there good matching tyres fitted, or matching on each axle? Condition condition condition is all you can go on. You can buy a Skoda Warranty. http://insurewithskoda.co.uk/extended-warranty Read the T&C's and exclusions.

Two services for £79
what does the 1 show next to the '£79 for 2 services' What is in the Small print / T&C's.? Why not £105 for the spark plugs being supplied and changed during servicing? ? WILL THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR THE BRAKE FLUID CHANGE AND THE CAM BELT DONE AT THE NEXT SERVICE?

Two services for £79
http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/498122-two-services-for-£79/ Your post yesterday in the Rapid section said over £100. (Sorry i missed the 'over' yesterday. Was it over £115 for the Spark Plugs, (only 3 plugs) others get 4 for £105, as the Skoda Fixed price Service & Maintenance price for cars 3-10 year old on Fixed Servicing is £105. With only 13,000 miles on your car you should have been asked if you wanted the spark plugs changed. Was the pollen filter changed if the car is 4 years old and they serviced to Skoda Recommendations / Guidelines?

Potential new owner DSG advice
The 1.2 TSI just needs normal Servicing & Maintenance. Filters, Oil, Plugs, brakes etc & inspections of suspension, steering, tyres, wipers etc. Done by miles or period of times and by how used. Probably at a good independent workshop.

Electric vehicles and charging
'Her charging.' They are not Blocking the Rapid. The CCS works while someone is on the AC. I was on it reversed in with the charge point on the passenger side. A car can drive in forwards or the cable for the CCS reach a rear point at the drivers rear or front wings of cars with charge ports there. The issue is that this is not during the night, this is getting hours of charging starting early in the morning & while others just want to get enough charge to be getting on with. When our Council Funded charging locally goes to 23 pence a kWh or more we will see how many use the chargers or maybe their own home chargers if they pay less than 23 pence a kWh. The Council does need to start getting revenue in from the cost of the chargers to all tax payers. Maintenance, more chargers, cost of electricity. Fair charging for good provision. I do not agree with local prices for local people. https://thecourier.co.uk/fp/business-environment/transport/2472355/two-tier-electric-vehicle-charging-would-be-unthinkable-for-petrol-drivers-says-retired-angus-lawyers/ Reduced price to charge at the public chargers during offpeak i agree with. Then some that sit charging for free now with their hot drinks bought as a carryout can continue to spend on drinks and munchies while they pay less than those that have to charge as they can while getting on with their journeys / work. 197.pdf Regular Tethered AC users are e-Golfs that are just on for 30-60 mins.

Electric vehicles and charging
This is the kind of issue people have with charging. The Tesla driver that regularly uses the charger and sometimes the Type 2 next to the Rapid and parks there for hours. It is occupied though with another that has been there for hours as you need with them. Today the Tesla is on the AC at the Rapid and for 4 1/2 hours already. I was prepared to stop charging on the CCS to let someone into the bay at the rapid but their car can only charge on the AC so are stuffed and headed off to find an available one.

Potential new owner DSG advice
By asking a Main dealership service desk person or Skoda UK customer services. Telling them you are not the owner but a prospective buyer. Check the spare tyre well to see if there are any Serviced Campaign Stickers. No service book. Skoda will have Service Campaign actions on the System. They paid for them being done. How long has the seller had the Yeti? How many miles had it done? 34h5 is just a software update because of heat/pressure issues and if the DSG is performing well now then probably not a real concern. Any failure would have been before now and possibly even repairs done like a replaced MCU.

Potential new owner DSG advice
@muppix the need of Wet Clutch DSG,s and oil changed has nothing in common with 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG,s that do not require oil changes other than when VW group did a global recall of millions of DQ200,s. Started 2012/13 and became a European service campaign in 2014. Synthetic oil changed for mineral oil. Dry clutch DSG,s use 2 oils, box and MCU. Wet clutch use the one oil in the box doing both functions. Ps, thousands that have had to spend thousands on new clutches or MCU,s never get to social media / forums or this forum with their story. They might well be on as Facebook page which is social media. Sadly the issue is Dealership employees panning off owners concerns and only replacing major parts when there are now repair kits. There are cheaper solutions and even Briskoda members that sell the kits.

Potential new owner DSG advice
There is no Servicing Schedule / Recommendations or Guidelines on Servicing for DQ200 DSG's. There was a Service Campaign '34H5' started in 2017 on some DQ200 DSG 2013-2015, check if the Yeti was included in that and was it done. If it had Main Dealers servicing it should have been done if the Owner let them and it was one that was part of the campaign. ? What miles has the car done and how much servicing has the Main Dealers Done. Has it had a Air Filter recently, Pollen Filter, Brake Fluid changed, Spark Plugs changed? How are the tyres looking, the brake discs, the general condition. Check the Service Record and the Warranty History while it had main dealer servicing. Was there any Service Campaign work done like the DSG Software update since 2017 if it is one that was part of the campaign. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions The campaign '34H5' might not show here but can be outstanding. DSG Service here 4 years / 40.000 miles does not apply to DQ200 DSG's.

Kamiq 1.5tsi which gearbox
If buying new car get an Extended Warranty from the outset be it for a DSG or Manual fitted to a 1.5TSI. If a used one then you need to check if any updates have been done on the engine or DSG. Maybe consider if a 1.0TSI with a DQ200 DSG would suit your needs. Take the 1.5TSI with ACT out of the equation with a DQ200 DSG. If Skoda / VW are still turning out ones new now with poor quality components like clutches or MCU's or software then cover yourself with a warranty. Skoda have been building millions of DQ200's for VW vehicles in the past years. The percentage of the 2,200 or however many DQ200 a day they produce that have issues might be low, but even if that is only 22 of each days production that is an issue. The past goes back over a decade since VW Group had to recall millions of DQ200 DSG's world wide and just do a service campaign in Europe. '34F7', then another recall '34H5', then TPI's on software and clutches and another recall in Australia in 2019 on the DQ200's that had already had Recall / Service Campaign actions. Surely Vorsprung Durch Technik means finally there is more reliability and longevity with DQ200's. Many tens of thousands with a Skoda or millions across the VW Group Brands will have no issues with 1.5 TSI's or with DQ200 DSG's, sadly when some do the issue that is really the problem is dealership staff that do not take issues seriously. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/484873-dsg-noise http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/474989-terrible-start-to-ownership http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/483020-kamiq-gearbox-problems-at-hendy-skoda-bournemouth http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486782-15-dsg-issues

Battery
@nta16 In the General Automotive Chat section there are pinned threads on preparing for winter. Or maybe for a General Thread warning on battery conditions across Skoda models the 'General Maintenance' section would be a good place for a thread if there is not already one sitting waiting to be revived.

Automatic gear box problems
If talking a new car then a Kamiq with an extended warranty if you are keeping it past the Manufacturers warranty. If a used one you best read up on the possible issues with Kangarooing in 1.5 TSI's fitted to a Manual or DSG.

Two services for £79
More important is what it says the services are for £79. If you never asked for Extras like Spark Plugs then get them refunded. Did it get a Pollen Filter replaced this time? Was the Brake Fluid changed last time? It should not have the plugs just because it is 4 years old, that is a Skoda Recommendation or Guidelines not a schedule.

Excessive high idling on 2017 superb 2.0L 150bhp
@Bob3 Welcome, & sorry you post has been overlooked. A mod will move it to the Superb Section. My thoughts are is that the car needs to do a regen.

Two services for £79
? So how many miles has the car done, and how old and when was the last services and what has the car had done in the past? If you have the Service T&C's for 2 Services for £79 what does it say. ? 2 Minor, or 1 minor and one major. Neither Minor or Major as they were called included Spark Plugs. The £249 & then increased to £289 Major Service before 2020 at each 4 years did include Spark Plugs.
