Zoe ZE50 one month on
Tax on miles driven and tax on passenger car weight as can be monitored at road sensors now. They know the vehicle by ANPR so know the vehicles VED class and Kerb Weight. So charge heavier private and business use cars with just a driver onboard more per mile than those with passengers / weight nearer gross max. Too many big fat SUV type and Sporty SUV,s are wearing out roads and occupying road space that need not be there. That might lead some to add weight into cars, but then Fuel be it fossil or renewable generated would cost more as moving weight does need more energy / fuel. The Government assisting financially the use of large EV,s for business use of reps / traders that have them just as Lifestyle vehicles is ridiculous. But then that is as it is now with Doublecab pickups, VW Carvelle type Transporters. Dual use vehicles.

Placing order today!
@AvRS a 19 week lead time is very good. So much sooner than others are getting ordering non EV's. Skoda must really be prioritising the Enyaq over even Mild Hybrid and Plug in models so that it plenty first registration of Zero Emission vehicles to help them and VW get the low average C02 emission figure required again in 2022.

@lol-lolThat is very very good use of your battery to get range. Getting on for twice as good miles per kWh than i can achieve. Even when i have gone into full hypermile mode drafting a suitable HGV at a safe distance i can not do as well as you. That is in any EV i have driven including Zoe's. Next week i have a wedding and some other stuff to attend over 3 days in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. About 800-900 miles driving to do over 4 days with passengers and with no handy or reliable public charging so will be driving my Suzuki and getting about 40 mpg. Just not worth the hassle to be saving any money if i was driving an EV. Unlikely to save anything in the way of money. Risking getting parking tickers likely these days when parked at chargers that then do not give a charge. There are places now that you pay the Parking Charge to get to chargers and this os not always made obvious and those used to free parking in their home areas are being caught out. (eg Perth) I could do the charging at Ionity or BP Pulse on the M8 & if the speed was as it should not waste time or at InstaVolt chargers (Handy once open at McD Newbridge near Edinburgh Airport) which you get what you pay for as far as speed goes so worth while, but then that would cost as much as buying Petrol. BP Pulse.

S3 Winter wheel / brake sizes
What is the issue with fitting 17" wheels anyway on a car the size you have? People at Skoda Dealerships are even telling people with a Scalla or Kamiq they can not fit 16" wheels yet they are available to buy from Skoda Dealers for that fitment. Simple enough to ask Skoda France Customer Services if the 16" wheel are homologated. That is what they are there for, and not to give wrong information if they do not know, they should know who to ask.

Oil
Yellow Oil Can / or Warning Low Oil message is Low Oil. Red Oil Can or Low Oil Pressure Warning message can be Low oil Pressure and come on with Low Oil & before the Low Oil Warning. Open the bonnet and do nothing and the Low Oil Warning light will go out, for as much as 60 miles. The Oil is still low though. That is how crazy the system is.

Just look for the Obvious which is not the Sticker, look at your Owners Manual for the vehicle you have which i linked, then get the Homologation information for your particular vehicle from Skoda Fance or CZ.

Travel by foot, bike or motor vehicle to & around parts of Glasgow at the end of October & the first 2 weeks in November might well be disrupted for many.
'ScotRail staff anounce strike action during COP26 as Glasgow faces Gridlock'. That will save the Police having to deal with anyone gluing themselves to trains. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/scotrail-staff-announce-strike-action-25217221 The more people that strike the less people that need to travel to work, just picket near to home. Those at COP26 can do some bin emptying. The Greens / Environmentalists will should be willing to clean up Glasgow. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/refuse-workers-glasgow-vote-strike-25212024 The people from around the world can get an authentic experience of how Scotland was when Labour and the Unions ruled Scotland.

The MG 4 and 5 EV and Maxus vans - Game changing cars & vans from SAIC

Faulty Korean chips supplied to Škoda?
There are Motoring Journalist / Vloggers / Youtubers that are Briskoda Members and that drive modern Skoda. Maybe they might just notice this thread. This link that a member posted in another thread on chips in vehicles might interest some. https://vervetimes.com/why-the-chip-shortage-is-so-complex-according-to-experts/

Faulty Korean chips supplied to Škoda?
There are some tales told at Skoda dealerships by unnamed people that actually should be named. Just so that there could be a Journalist go talk to them and see where they get their information.

Fabia mk4 pricelist
I recently priced a new Mk3 Estate with DSG and all the options, service plan, extended warranty etc and got it to just under £30,000. That was lots of the crazy priced Skoda accessories included in my 'vapour build'. I actually would like one as a keeper, but it would have to be a pre loved one for 'Much Cheapness'.

Oil
Welcome to the forum. Best if you said what engine, but same oil be it a 1.0 TSI or a 1.5tsi. Best read your owners manual on how to check the oil. Best not wait for warning lights or messages. So the oil to spec VW508 00 / 509 00 will be 0w 20 Full Synthetic IV. Someone might try to sell you VW 504 00 / 507 00 which is 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 FS III and tell you that is OK to top up with. It can be used for a small amount but best get the oil that the car left the factory with so Vw 508 00. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481795-what-oil-for-15tsi

THE Winter Tyres Thread
Winter Spec Fuel starts being delivered to Scotland and the North of England by this weekend. A drop in temperatures by tomorrow night and then probably more wet weather for awhile before more regular frosts.
-
What oil for 1.5 TSI ?
They supplied an oil that can be used but not what was in the engine when delivered from the factory that was VW 508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV.

Zoe ZE50 First Impressions
I have to watch the vids a few times and very closely along with his words, like when he was talking about using ECO in the Corsa. My experience of the PSA so now Stellantis is not to assume the same batteries and same motors so you know the usable battery. Different software and different management. Limited thermal comfort can be horrible as all the windows steam up and especially the windsrcreen and as fast as you get the fan turned up your vision is limited. Choosing ECO and then setting the cabin to 21*oC is certainly not good for range id the weather is lots cooler than 21 or higher than it.

Fabia mk4 pricelist
Maybe the Scala is like goods offered in Catalogues like Kay's / Very etc. If reduced in price it because they are not exactly that much in demand and offers is a way to get them shifted. Fabia used to be up as a top seller with the Octavia until about 2012. No way does Skoda want to launch a car and have to sell / lease them with incentives. As happened with Mk 2 face lifts there might be offered and extras that become standard on Special models. Like they did with the Monte Carlo tech years back. As it is getting one delivered will be the first hurdle. Auto car / What car will say how good residuals will be without any even with new owners. They will then say the Polo is less in servicing or such contradictions.

These ranges showing for EV's really are pretty pointless if they are just a driver and some stuff in the car but anyone getting one will be driving them with a passenger or 2 or 3 or even 4 in a car. Especially with the bigger family cars. With Small cars the difference between one in the car or 2 people can really be noticeable on range / kWh usage. I think Byorn Nyland has done great work and empty banana box tests are useful and the runs done at different speeds. Really though if he had from the off been putting an extra 300 kg weight in each vehicle and himself that would be of a help to drivers that want a family car for taking a family in, or goods like boxes with actual stuff in them. The tyre pressure settings are very important but not something he appears to bother about in reviews or the tables. In the Opel e-Corsa he drives in ECO and that IME is not the way to get the best range even with CC on driving dual carriageways. As for ECO and people in the car, they would end up needing to open windows to get air, and in the cold weather dressing up warmly. Hats and Gloves on. Here you can see the Tyre Pressure during the test. 2.5bar / 36psi. hVac off! Well that is OK in a car on your own maybe. If not putting in 4 heavy weights in the car maybe just put 2 big damp dogs in on a wet day rather than people and see how that is trying to stop the car steaming up. What a palaver with the 1,000 k / 621 mile challenge. Imagine that with people or animals in the car with you, condensation, freezing, eating.drinking and the cost of this compared to just driving an ice vehicle and maybe having to stop for fuel once and maybe toilet / stretching breaks. When you get to your destination you need the car on a charger and dry out the interior. Windows cracked open a bit so Wind deflectors are a good thing otherwise the next morning you start off with a damp interior. (not the idea vehicle for friends going Ski-ing / Snowboarding in Scotland.)
