the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher We will see if the Scottish Government manage to have the usual love in with ARNOLD CLARK, or maybe First Minister John Swinney MSP,s uncle Sir Tom Farmer can get in on things. He who founded Kwik Fit.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher Google is your friend and very handy and the Scottish Government are great on press releases. Crap at implementing stuff. Always behind their own time scale. I have a car, have a contract, My payments are made and i get letters on what changes as legislation requires. So they can change names, change how medicals are carried out,etc etc, but the Dealers & Salespeople are the same, the car lists are the same so when something actually changes you can let me know. nr_social_security_and_adult_disability_payment_as.pdf

I have a 20 mph limit 15 ft from my window and a 30 mph going into a 40 mph just 60 feet away. Really the anti-social plonkers with more noise than go flooring it is just a PITA. disturbance of the peace and drawing attention to them. There are ones still giving it laldy less than 1 mile on and into another 20 mph in a village and they can be heard.

New Superb 2.0 TSI 265 p.s - some questions and impressions
@EnterName Simples, Sainsbury just guarantee 97 ron minimum, which is good, and at good prices. I do not want an Additive pack / detergents which is why for special occasions i bought 102 ron track fuel. Carless Hiperflo 250 Just double the price of the best Tesco Momentum 99, but great with the right map. 'Vital Equipment' You used to get 102 ron BP at a filling station near Knockhill Race Track. You get 102 pump fuel / Shell near car factories and tracks in Italy. & Shell ran adverts with a F1 on Pump Fuel, not showing it was 102 ron not 98 as was sold in the UK back then Sainsburys Super Unleaded can be Tesco Momentum 99 if Greenergy deliver. They buy at the best prices, Greenergy produce & supply to most of the ESSO filling stations in the UK, hence the difference in Ethanol content in some areas of the UK. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1).pdf

New Superb 2.0 TSI 265 p.s - some questions and impressions
Have you read the Owners Manual? They know very little about little. As it is German Winter fuel is 100 ron. Parts of Europe 102 ron. They as in who you spoke to seem to ignore the VW recommendations for GTI,s / R,s. But then that is common. Shell V-Power might be considered as best by some in the UK, even when not. The fuels are not the same from the same brands around the UK, as ESSO shows regarding theirs. Different Depots / Storage / Ethanol. TSI,s love ethanol IME. http://youtube.com/watch?v=qujugSrVhYc VW have published this for many many years now. 98 Ron Super Unleaded has not been available in the UK foe more than a decade. It is 97 or 99 ron minimum. 95 ron E10 might not have 10$ Ethanol in the UK.

New Superb 2.0 TSI 265 p.s - some questions and impressions
@DasSkoda It would be good if you show what country you are in. Why not every tank for the higher octane and more detergents? What is every 3rd tank achieving? Sainsburys E5 Super Unleaded is 97 ron min, so that can be 99 Ron, or even 100 ron as 99 minimum can be. Depends what Greenergy or the other suppliers have got in at whatever prices. Especially winter time.

New Superb 2.0 TSI 265 p.s - some questions and impressions
All EU / UK cars are just 95 ron minimum. So that is E5 in the UK. You might as well go E10 so 97 / 99 ron minimum. It is up to you.

A good win, and how stupid was MOTABILITY.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher I got my car from Motability in 2023. It has been Motability since 1977. Now Scotland has it,s own benefit system & last year. I have a letter telling me of the change over, nothing about AVE though. ................. Is see this. The Stickers on Dealers Windows in Scotland is still MOTABILITY & you choose cars from the MOTABILITY list.

@Carst-2018SKODASuperb Do you really think anyone just minding their own business in their garden or house or outside cares what your car sounds like as you pass? They probably think there is that plonker again in that taxi! Or do you want the noise for you standing around as someone drives the car past? It is never going to sound like anything nice or sporty and have someone thinking that as it goes up the road they wish they had a car that sounds like it.

the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper I hope she tells whoever they are a shyster & go get the manager. More need to be telling MOTABILITY what is happening at dealerships. The Call Handlers at Motability are great and you can tell them. You can write to Motabilities 'Lifestyle Magazine' and not get your letter printed. It is The Senior Management that are Deaf Dumb and Blind over the issues with Customers getting steered to totally unsuitable cars at Official Motability Dealerships. Time that MP,s and the Transport Committee and who ever else in Government that have been involved in the investigations into Motability were looking closer.

Switching broadband
Long story, Happy Fish Friday. My SKY Broadband is pathetic and always has been. I was paying £38 a month and getting nothing like the speed i should have. In January it went up to £43. This had me looking to switch, or get cheaper & each time i tried accepting Renewals cheaper the application failed. When i did get to speak to someone at SKY i got an upgrade to Full Fibre and a low price. This was on 10th January. Change over 14th February, new router here by the 31st January. Before the 31st Router Arrived. BT Outreach guy knocked the door saying was putting the cable to the back of house ready for 4th. On the 1st BT Outreach message me appointment back to 14th March. This week the pavements are dug up for Fiber Broadband and pipes run to edge of gardens. Weeks away or months from that FIBRE BROADBAND. So i am paying £43 still and crap speed and just the lower price would be fine. ....................................................... I GOT THROUGH TO SKY today. I got the perfect call handler unlike the one 2 weeks ago. ' Computer says just wait'. £20 Credited to my Account today. Compensation is £6 a day for every day late from the original 4th February. £42 a week to be paid to my account until the Fibre Broadband is on in my house. It can take for ever as far as i am concerned. LARRY. Happy as. PS. She told me today the Cable going into the house at the rear is Pole Work, but requires scaffolding to the rear of house to be connected. Even if so and it is the 14th March that is about 38 days at £6. £228 plus the £20 gesture today. EDIT PPS. As i found out today, The pavements are dug up and new repaired poorly for VIRGIN Full Fibre Broadband.

the truth about electric cars
@StonekeeperNot forcing. But really trying to appeal to the greed of many. People go to get the best, highest priced car for the least money in many cases. The number of luxury cars when there was even a £26,000 cap a few year back was unreal getting leased. Have you been in to look at getting a Motability Lease vehicle? There are total cowboys in Showrooms / Dealerships. (& still Disabled People with the Benefits are pressured on conned by family or friends to get a car for them that the Disabled Person might never be in. I have had lots of Motability cars, Leased, bought 2 with HP from Motability and traded since i was 18 years old in Ex Motability cars and have worked in dealerships and fitted hand contriols for disabled drivers. Motability very much encourage, but give warnings. If you are not getting a Free Charger Installed you get BP Subscription for 3 years for charging. That is s fiasco and not a cheap way to public charge, Dealers Sales People can be an Issue. It used to be a Trained Motability Specialist Sales person you dealt with. Now some total muppets are filling in the Application for the new car @ Dealerships.

the truth about electric cars
@Stonekeeper what is your point. People pay up to £8,000 in advance payments, and were paying £4,000 for EV MPV,s until recently where they are now under £1,000 and the Petrol version might be £3,000. The companies are selling the cars cheap to Motability to help meet the figures. Motability have not made the usual huge profits this past year as they are not getting the price at auction punting the 3 year old or younger EV,s. Still Billions in the funds though held by the 4 major banks, as has been since 2008. It was 6 banks then.

I like what he bought as a replacement.- BEV Estates. There are only a few.

- Sump plug stripped
Was there a charge made for providing a New Sump Plug at the last service?- Vehicle tax class change
- the truth about electric cars
Obviously i meant a thread in this section on Salary Sacrifice regarding EV,s and not Push bikes, electric bikes etc. But then that thread could go in some serious section. Not in a thread or section on the Truths and untruths of Electric Cars.- Perfect service history, my ass!
In the UK charging the same price to replace 3 spark plugs in a 1.0 TSI as 4 in a 1.2 TSI or some other 4 cylinder engine. Not as a Loss Leader, the plugs and labour and VAT seem to be exactly the same price. Odd as with the 3 cylinder 1 plug is left in the parts store, & do 4 3 cylinder cars & you can have 4 spark plugs to do a 4 cylinder and it is the VAT @ 20% being taken somehow.- Kangarooing 1.5 tsi a thing of the past?
@RMIK2000 it is not a 2024 1.5 TSI ACT that you have though, according to your signature. - Tesla Model 3 facelift
