bumper fender defect?
Are they saying you got a perfect car and the damage occurred after hand over to you. Their PDI and the cleaners never spotted anything wrong and neither did you at hand over! What do they want you to claim off your insurance, for a repair to the area where there was a blow and for a 'Approved repairer to do bodywork'. ? Repairs are to be carried out by Approved Repairers as per the Manufacturers Warranty. Are they saying they just did a straightening of the trim and further work needs doing and that has nothing to do with them? Surely they are not saying the Manufacturers Warranty is not valid for Paint or the Corrosion warranty until further repairs are carried out and they have just done a favour straightening the trim as best they could.

It is just a link for anyone interested in their paint or paint in general, at no point do i suggest it has significance.- Stone chips
This might interest some interested in the paints & clearcoats hardness by the manufacturers. http://theultimatefinish.co.uk/car-care-blog/detailing/paintwork- Brake Discs and Wheel Bearings
@bytemeMaybe read back where the dealer has addressed the Op's issues. I used to prep the vehicles for sale that were previously registered to the manufacturers and dealerships. or a random person / employee.- Brake Discs and Wheel Bearings
All very true in your first post on this page. & they are not going to road test them on a motorway. They might move it between one dealership and another by road. I used to drive some of those. But the Skoda Approved Cars are sold with a premium and the checks are not really an option to just be dismissed because another might have carried them out. You must never of worked in the Arnold Clark Group or Parks, or maybe you have as there are many that know exactly what goes on.- UK not GB number plates
I see the Daily Record are reporting that the Liverpool Echo says tomorrow is the big day. https://dailyrecord.co.uk/lifestyle/huge-number-plate-change-coming-25079542 Stupid headline that is then clarified just below. No way could it 'impact every driver' if they never take their car abroad!- I hope you are all being sensible about THE PETROL SHORTAGE!!
I went to inflate my rear tyres there at Tea Time thinking i would not get near. The cones were set to take you in a circular way to the not very big pump area. There were 2 cars at the pump and i had to be in a queue of 1 to get reversed in and inflate my tyres. 20 bl00dy pence and the pump could not manage to get more than 37 psi into my 4x4 tyres.- Brake Discs and Wheel Bearings
The manufacturers warranty is not relevant to the OP as the cars was sold faulty at 10,500 miles. A Skoda Approved Used car which was not fit for purpose as found when taken on a motorway. Then a software update was available that had been overlooked before the vehicle had been handed over.- Brake Discs and Wheel Bearings
@byteme I see from the post in the other thread you do deal with warranties on a daily basis. Is that on behalf of claimants or the Warranty Providers? I fail to see your point, a person puts their vehicle in believing it has a valid claim and a master tech says that there is no valid reason for a warranty claim, warped discs or a water pump and the cars owners is then into a dispute. A dealership employee tried to be a Warranty Manager, they know that the claim will be knocked back, but not if they support the claim. as many do on a daily basis knocking back attempts at having a component replaced under warranty. Then the owner has to get into using Independent Engineering experts etc. Common with Euro 5 Emission TSI's like Twinchargers and DQ200 DSG's and for a decade now. Manufacturer Warranty Claims knocked back and also Skoda Approved Extended Warranties & also other Warranties. Often VW fold and reach agreements but accept no responsibility on the lemons they carried on selling. Enough times confidentiality dealerships were required before an owner got their vehicle bought back. Or is that a figment of my imagination and never happens?- Brake Discs and Wheel Bearings
@bytemebut true in the less than most parts is it not? Some can be done on the nod, and some have your agent which is the Approved Repairer acting like a gate keeper and knocking stuff back. We have discussed Warranties & Extended Warranties in the past and in the most part you give some duff gen. Do you work in a Skoda Dealership or any car dealership?- ESC system function not available
Post the Fail Code if you have a copy, or look up the MOT Website and post what it says and the code.- ESC system function not available
Some grown up will be along. Was the MOT examiner not looking at turning on before starting for a check light to show, then go out? Is that ESC not actually TC / ASR, Traction Control / Anti Slip Regulation and not Electronic Stability Control / Electric Stability Programme.- 2012 Skoda Fabia Se Plus 1.2 Tsi 105
The FSH is great if it shows a History of lots of servicing carried out, it can show how little might have been done. That can be the case if it is a FMDSH so Oil & filter changes and look sees.- I hope you are all being sensible about THE PETROL SHORTAGE!!
@J.R.Bought a 2.8 Granada V6 Auto and took it to work the next day. went to ASDA at dinner time and brimmed it. Petrol was peeing out so i took it for a blast on the dual carriageway and the big ends went about 10 miles away from work. To save an argument with the guy i bought it from i removed the rear window from his car before going to his door. He said he had ran it every day and just put a fivers worth in at a time. I got my £350 back. Told him where his car was and not worth collecting. He asked me to put his rear screen back in. Sadly he was out of luck. ................................ I was told a story about a near stushy at a filling station near Dundee as a scruffy guy was filling his Audi RS6 to the brim in a £30 limit filling station. He flashed his Warrant card and told them to GTF. So he was lucky he never got filled in for being an undercover cop, or he has blown his cover as a cop or someone with a fake Warrant card. I suspect he was genuine and has the 'Works' card with a £99 limit or unlimited that overides filling station / card limits. News readers keep asking about priority workers and filling stations just they can use. Well that system exists it is just the Governments or Local Authorities have not triggered it. My local filling station that is for Priority use has been dug up for months and only going to be ready sometime away in the future.- ESC system function not available
@Jae85 Welcome. Could you explain please, has the car failed because the ESC (Electronic Stability Control) light is on at start up and staying on. So showing a fault? So not showing that it is operating correctly. Is this a Skoda Main dealerships technician struggling with a fix? If it is working so Active is it the light being on that is the fail & how do you know it is Active?- Karoq just purchased
Pet hate. Vehicles that only have lights aligned after failing their first MOT. & Upgraded Dipped Beam poorly set, or additional lights that help a driver, just not the ones not in their car. Always a good move once upgraded lights to stand on the pavement and have your car driven along so you can see what others see. IMO. Or drive a car and have someone follow in your car so you see what others will. I was not giving advice just pointing out the obvious that seems to be missed by many, including those with cornering fog lights that turn their steering wheel while sitting waiting to turn. Even an Advanced driver would not thinking a random 1 extra light coming on is clever. Sitting at roadworks, traffic lights in the dark waiting in the front car and as a vehicle or cyclist comes through on green they turn their steering and shine an additional light at the person coming forward. 'Simply not clever'. Or enabling the Front Fogs that come on Automatically as they select reverse. If there is nobody there they could just put full beam on, or manually put the front fogs on to reverse- Sport mode and brake lights
Only when i know they will not as i am indicating and about to hang a left. I just use my Windscreen Washers these days and never brake test anyone. Others discuss it regularly. Reviewers talk about one pedal driving & EV's & ones that do not have it, and drivers like it yet often have no idea what their brake lights are doing.- GETTING THE BEST OUT OF KAROQ DSGs
@croquemonsieurYeti 1.2 TSI /DSGS would spin wheels as well, revvy peppy engine short 1st gear and rubbish tyres. Heavy vehicle and pretty light engine / gearbox, just like a Karoq 1.0TSI. ? You never drive with 2 feet do you. Left foot on brake and right on accelerator at junctions. (The clutch taking up delay is not as bad on some when the hill hold assist / control is operating. when Sprinting / Drag racing that is why a DQ200 held on the line with the Manual Hand brake is better than on the foot brake.) DQ200 DSG's have been in 1.0 TSI's for long enough now and pre GPF's being fitted. Any reports of issues are tiny really. If the DQ200 is going to have a long life then in a 1.0TSI or e-tech 1.0TSI is where i would trust my money in a bet. Just buy a Skoda / VW Group Extended Warranty that covers the DSG after the Manufacturers Warranty expires. Read carefully the T&C's. Never allow anyone untrained to touch the DQ200, and do not listen to any Skoda Employees about servicing unless they show you the TPI and the Piece of Mind Guarantee from VW as to why they want to do anything to your car. PS Forget crap written about 2009-2012 DQ200 before the World Wide Recall in 2012/13, Service Campaign in Europe 2014, because Europe is not in the World according to VW. '34F7'. Service Campaign. Then there is '34H5' started 2017 on 2013-2015 cars. Then the TPI's on ones 2014-2016, then again after. Then another Recall in Australia 2019 on 2009-2016 DQ200.s. Surely Skoda can produce for them and VW Group vehicles around 2,200 or more a day DQ200's and have finally got it as good as it is ever going to be!- Cost of brake replacements
They are to their spec (not a high bar there then) and the price screwed to the ground so much that some manufacturers will not be a supplier to the VW Group. They source some right rubbish, and sometimes they take stuff in house like software and then they really produce rubbish. (There are vehicles from a factory with discs that do not rust into the ground quickly like Citroen fit, but then it can be surprising the car even new or at 3 years old can pass a UK MOT Brake test. Not a very high bar there either though.)- Sport mode and brake lights
^^^ Nail on head. PAS did not give their EV's that much slowing that they were required to have Brake Lights come on when you do go to B for more regen. Actually it is enough to catch out tailgaters or just those driving without due care and attention. No need to Brake Test them, just lift off the accelerator and move from D to B will be enough. Some manufacturers seem to have gone too far with what ever the Regs are and have Brake lights coming on when there is almost no retarding of speed, eg VW Group.- I hope you are all being sensible about THE PETROL SHORTAGE!!
He could be a real hero that at his own expense fuel the Food Bank Van that delivers to the terminally ill that are housebound. Everyone assumes that others are doing something wrong while their actions are spot on as they take a car out of hibernation to fill it with fuel. How is the tanker driver shortage going for those that transport road fuels to places other than filling station? With HGV Fuek tanker drivers the question is similar to that with snow plough drivers. How do you get to work?- Cost of brake replacements
@MX-5they never left the Skoda Factory with that good discs and and pads so the £90 ones can exceed the OEM. The dealership quoting £700 is fitting nothing very special but are charging the price of very special parts sourced cheaply.- I hope you are all being sensible about THE PETROL SHORTAGE!!
