  1. If you are adding octane boosters then knowing about E10 is not straightforward. Why is it that you do not use super unleaded so E5 99 ron from Esso or Tesco rather than Shell V-Power Nitro + ? ? What is JS SUL (97) , Is that Sainsbury's Super Unleaded which is a minimum 97 ron, but can at times exceed 97 ron?
  2. Sorry unable to see either of those 2 you have posted. Maybe someone else can see them. 600rpm is too low so head back to where the service was carried out. Someone here with a 2013 1.2 TSI can tell you how their car behaves.
  3. Welcome. For a 1.2 TSI the 1,000 rpm was a bit high after it had started and a few minutes after. What does a full service mean. What was actually done over and above an Oil & Filter and inspection service? Is there new Spark Plugs fitted, or when was that done, is there a new fresh air filter in? Probably nothing to do with anything but if the change is that now you have in E10 95 ron from where ever you buy it, try a tank of E5 so Super Unleaded 97 or 99 ron and see if there is any change. That is once you can refuel.
  4. Do not panic Captain Mannering, Grant Shapps will be telling the Billionaire owners to fess up the readies or do their worst and GTF. The UK has taken back control. The UK Government will pay with Tax / Duty / Revenue payers money to an overseas provider or even INEOS Billions to take up the slack. https://news.sky.com/story/stanlow-refinery-owners-face-new-financial-crunch-as-hmrc-deadline-looms-12410388 When a BP former Executive is taken on you can expect a failure maybe, as they will have been working next to the morons that can not arrange delivery of their products properly. Run and supply filling stations with your own product and the important thing is to have the means of doing it, your own or contracted vehicles and drivers paid the proper wages and then the product priced so that you are making a profit, so charging the market price. But the government allows a free market where Super Market owners can afford to sell cheap and keep the public happy, for a while anyway. Once the price of food and goods has to rise the castle built on sand is not really such a smart idea.
  5. Unreal. Muppets that not only need moved to let tankers in but then have not the sense to keep clear to let the tankers out or those going about their business like panic shopping for their meal replacement drinks, instant potatoes & UHT milk. EDIT, @mac11irlthat is my shopping by the way.
  6. Briskoda for sale adverts is a good place to look.
  7. But they would not fit anyway even ignoring if you wanted it to look like a monster truck. The Fabia and Yeti have different bolt patterns / PDC. The Fabia being 5x100. Even a 16" spare wheel for a Yeti will not just bolt on.
  8. Very relevant. How many miles the car had done? The 3rd service will be the one between the 2nd & the 4th. But has it been on fixed services so 9,400 miles /372 days or sooner. Or variable, or a mix of both.
  9. @Dajver Welcome. Hopefully someone gives you some info as the last post was back in March 2019 and about cars from 2018.
  10. It is a 'groan' because you are on a wind up often.
  11. They are really good, near 100 ps less than the sporty fast models and yet get you about in the UK just as quickly and at less money spent on fuel.
  12. Dealership staff will give you the low down on the Service & visual brake inspection, some say 20% worn and others that are real muppets upselling might say 80% worn even when the customer has put a car in with new pads fitted. When you ask what the technicians actual measurement silence comes the reply. Numerous examples of this in every section of Briskoda for years past. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457565-disc-and-pad-wear It is a global issue with chancers. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496934-brake-wear-on-2020-fabia-wagon
  13. @sepulchrave Sorry missed seeing that link, but no harm done is there?
  14. Another great quality video.
  15. It might be cleaning the GPF. See post by @silver1011 21st October with the info from the manual. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/456700-has-my-car-got-a-gpf http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/469151-gpf-like-dpf http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466684-20-tsi-190-gpf-regeneration
  16. So VW 504 00 / 507 00. VW 504 00 for this age of TSI, Fixed or Variable servicing. 5w 30 FS III (that is long life.) Or if you want VW 502 00 so 5w 40 FS. This is the spec if you can use for Fixed Service Oil & Filter intervals with a TSI. That was how VW Group were showing the recommended oils by 2014. Below what show as far as VW505 00
  17. They might eventually be available in the UK. By then we should know if they are any good.
  18. Dealers need approval and payment to replace under a Manufacturers Warranty. If they try selling a used car with dodgy brakes or other components then that is more profit between what they get the car in for and what their overheads are, transport, valeting, and servicing or repairs which are not included in Profit which they pay tax on. If an item is to be repaired or replaced because a valid Warranty Claim then the Dealership is quids in. There are crap drivers about, drivers that just hit speed bumps without slowing down or diving any sympathy to wheel bearings etc. Buying a Used car is a lottery, but where one was used and abused does not automatically make consumables valid for a Warranty claim.
  19. Just at 40 PSI all round just now with the 205/45 R17 Alpin 6. If i go away 20 miles to Brechin and charge or not even charge and drive back it might show 4.5 miles per kWh and show 229 miles when i put on the charger. If i was to be driving just back and fore to Brechin on the back road it might do 200 miles plus & have 11 miles range when the battery warning comes on.. Maybe 3.1-3.5 kWh. If i drive out to the A90 and then go to Brechin and back it might be just 135 miles it will do before the battery warning. Location & weather and regenning matters so much. Ambient temp between 10 & 20*oC better than in the mid 20's for range IME with PSA vehicles. This is the highest it has ever shown really, but has done that and had range left, but that is with an average speed below 50 mph and lots of climbing and long stretches descending. Near the Coast to Mountains (Cairn O Mount) and long run down to the coast (Moray Firth) and then around the coast & then cross country to home makes for the best range IME. Doing it Clockwise works, but reverse the journey and go Anti-Clockwise and charging is required. Not enough short sharp uphills and long downhills. If i was to be changing tyres now i think CrossClimate 2 would be a good choice but that Alpin 6 have been great for grip.
  20. With Mk4 Octavia and how components are after 1 or 2 years we are going to have to wait 1 or 2 years to pass really. Like with anything out of the Manufacturers Warranty of 3 years, it needs to be 3 years since cars went on the road to find out how they get on. Interesting times coming. So much new tech fitted and functions and some not right from the production line and so many faulty for months and Skoda UK are waiting for results of testing owners cars rather than their staffs perks / VW owned vehicles. We are at the stage that cars are going out of warranty that were bunkered for months before ever leaving the Czech Republic or other European Countries. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497487-mk3-vrs-tdi-dsg-estate-3rd-set-of-brake-discs-warped http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/467627-front-discs-warped http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/462805-brake-discs-premature-wear http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/466298-break-pad-and-disc-wear
  21. My car has pretty much been fault free since i had it. Just the annoying light for the heated steering wheel or the car deciding that i asked the heated steering wheel to work and it might be cold and it has more important things that need electricity. Maybe a few weeks yet before i need that. The cars connectivity to my phone is a PITA. I think there have been Over the Air updates and things might settle with that. PITA that it tells you where your phone is, not where the car actually is. Increased my tyres by 4 PSI, i should have done so much earlier. Quite a change on the range with the common practice i might have of 6 or 8 times a day doing just 1 mile each way. Generally the car at 13 months old and 12,000 miles is better than it was a year ago and that is without Arnold Clark being allowed to do 2 software updates that i believe take 4 hours but they will not reveal if this is how long, or if they can successfully apply them, as plenty have let them try and regretted it.
  22. 4 years on. Any comments on what anyone's Skoda does? Do you know what your car does or will you need to check,?
  23. Some Seat or VW or Audi have brake light on and some do not while AUTOHOLD is activated and functioning. There is a wee project for someone to see which is which system. I started the thread asking Briskoda members what their car does. Many have not a clue. I will bump the thread, it might have some checking what their vehicle does. In general as automotive chat section.
  24. Doubt that greatly. VW the biggest car manufacturing group in the world badly affected because they treat contractors and suppliers badly always shifting and trying to screw down prices. These companies get peed off with VW. Happened several times now in just the last 5 years. VW suffered and customers then had to just wait. Interior trim was a fight VW group lost. They take the Michael too often. They dropped Das Auto for honesty. Vorsprung Technik. Except VW tried producing their own Software and are failing badly.
