  1. Sorry but i fail to understand what you mean, is the new style with a Flag & UK not keeping to a standard design if a UK registered vehicle is outwith the UK? Currently there is all sorts of nonsense on plates inbetween MOTS, and removed for MOT time.
  2. It makes little difference if you are only driving about the UK or any of the 4 countries that are the UK. People / Authorities / Police in countries outside the UK might become aware that the Union Flag is not just English or representing Great Britain.
  3. Simple really. GB = Great Britain, but it is the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' hence UK.
  4. Interestingly there are those that have moved on from running a Tesla and now have Enyaqs or are waiting on them. I have met a few Tesla drivers that have had enough of then and want less hassle than they have been experiencing.
  5. @Polaris are you going to share what age of Fabia it is and what engine and fuel it uses?
  6. All week there have been people bumping their gums about the Cambo Oil Field & just say no, then about more Wind farms on the Northern Isles and the loss of peat and about a new Deep Coal Mine in England and how not needed. Worried about how that will look at COP26. (While the UK imports Oil & Gas then it is mental to think about not having Oil & Gas that can come from British waters, but now some are saying save that for the future generations when the value is ten times what it is now, it is safe where it is under the sea.) Not once did i hear any of them mention that the Gas price was so high that EDF had a Coal Fired Power Station fired up this week in England. http://bbc.co.uk/news/business-58469238
  7. Prices are absolutely crazy with many of the providers. 69 pence a kWh on a 350 kWh charger for someone paying with just money and no special price at an Ionity charger. I meet people charging at free chargers in Scotland that have no idea they are free and they have no idea what they are charged at other chargers they flash their card at. I have never had any money debited yet from charging i did at chargers before the change over of Administration. My account showed i am due them money. Today i have been checking tariffs for home utilities when i can change supplier in January and am totally shocked at the kWh price showing for home electric of not the off peak cost or EV charging. Some are higher than the cost of a kWh at a public charger.
  8. @Low-man Just spotted you have a 2016 Fabia. You can not see that if on a phone. There is a thread on the Mk3 Fabia section on Modifying Mk3's, a resent post in it Also a thread on Turbos there. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/433171-modifying-fabia-mkiii/page/41 http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481489-turbo-swap-choices-for-ea211-12-tsi
  9. The Maintenance reset is there in the Menu if you have Maxidot and the car is set for Fixed Service Intervals. The end of the stalk on that kind changes choices / settings, button can select. Or there are the various other ways as explained in various threads for the different Fabia. Like these, then there are various Youtubes on how to. Magic search. 10. BP Plus cost to charge. Members & PAYG.
  11. It is worth going to the Fabia Project section and looking at others projects with 1.2 TSI's, there are ones.
  12. 400 UK first registrations that helped on the average C02 at the end of 2020. 3,100 Citigo IV delivered in Europe in the first half of 2021 is yet another help to Skoda on C02 average emissions.

  14. Best value can be the 20 pence spent at the Air Pump each time adjusting tyre pressures until you have them at the best pressure for the North or South Deeside road. Then fitting those Pirelli tyres will be simply clever and getting the right pressure. PS A bag on sand in the boot is a good investment to balance the back end if you are trucking about in an empty Superb. Use to get traction if the road crews are not bothering to be out and about on an icy morning.
  15. @RobMac1 So what are the new tyres, size and Make / name that are on the front and what pressure are they set at? (Is the TPMS reset. & done by you?) What are the rear tyres, (Size, make / name) and does changing the pressure a bit change the noise?

Just Email the Dealership and ask them to send the vehicles history and Service Campaign Recall Actions history. Never assume that a Dealership carries out TPI's /Recall Actions or even ones that are RECALLS on the DVLA / DfT / Gov recall site. 'Safety Critical ones'. Because they might not have. (Never assume a car was put back to Factory Setting either as people remap, change Brake Assist, Steering Assist, XDS / XDS+ settings etc etc. then trade in or return leased cars set as they have done.) https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions
  17. As for Wheel / Tyres Size for use with Snow Chains, the owners manual has that beside Tyres & Winter / All Weather Tyres , Snow Chains.

We know what thought did! 'Normally' found is not 'Exclusively found' unfortunately. Best read the various threads in the Karoq Section. Often members posted that it was a Manual issue while ignoring those members posts with a DSG that had the issue. Even members that rejected or just got rid of cars as they were messed about long enough by Dealerships and Skoda UK. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/470160-15-tsi-manual-or-dsg-rejected-or-rejection-refused If a salesperson says they have never heard of the issue then maybe this is there first month at work or they are just as Dealerships like their employees to be. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/465281-karoq-software-update-progress-report
  19. A proper SUV or USV. A Utilitarian Sports Vehicle. (If 7 seats are used then maybe a trailer required for carrying 'stuff', but that is the same as now with 'SUV's or so called 7 seat ones. For families and individuals that want a properly built vehicle that they can have real world adventures in. One that you can maybe load stuff on the roof if not a giant or using a step ladder Not Faux roof bars fitted as with some cars. e

Has the car had the Software updates that were introduced? Best get used to the car as it is. If you really want to try that reset method then no harm in doing it and you will be the one that notices as difference or thinks they do. ??? Is it a Skoda approved used car? If so or even if not check what if any software update it has. Check the service and warranty work and service campaign record on the Skoda System. You might want to know if the car could have been one previously rejected by an owner because of how it drove.
  21. Enjoy the day. Take your time and inspect the car closely. Check the equipment in the car and in the boot is as should be. Ask the person doing hand over if they know what the PDI has the tyre pressures at. If they do not know they can go get a tyre pressure guage. The TPMS needs set if pressures need changed You could take a tyre pressure guage. If the pressures are dangerous the PDI might not have been well done. Ask them to get a Master Tech out. Pop the bonnet and check the oil level cold. When you get home check it when hot. Look at the coolant level before starting the car or taking it away. None of this really should add 10 minutes to the hand over if the dealership do their job right.
  22. @rcgliderpilot Any particular reason you had a DSG oil change at 23,000 miles. As the post above it is not unusual to feel / behave differently after oil changes of wet clutch DSG,s. It is recommended / a guideline at 40,000 miles and really should be called scheduled for that. It is not a 4 yearly item regardless of what a Skoda site might show or Service Desk staff say. BUT, If a software update was carried out then a owner / driver collecting a vehicle should be told and it should be in writing when the collect the vehicle. Services are not Skoda Secret Service Services where they should know and it is none of the driver's business. PS best asking service desk staff about keyboards or telephones unless you are talking with a tech from the workshop who is trained as a mechanical engineer. That is unlikely to include a workshop / service manager.
  23. The systems are not mandatory for manufacturers to fit as standard and will not be until next year and on new type approved cars, along with other mandatory systems. They will still be able to be switched off when they are fitted, the thing is they will be there as Factory Settings when the vehicle is started. You would hope before the systems are required by EU Legislation that the manufacturers had sorted out the horlicks that some have fitted currently. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/486388-lane-assist-is-dangerous http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/487234-lane-assist-frequent-faults http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494175-lane-assist http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/488677-how-did-cars-end-up-with-so-much-tech-fitted http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495705-mandatory-requirement-on-new-cars-from-2022-speed-limiters http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496539-welcome-to-isa-intelligent-speed-assist-limiter-uk-to-follow-eu-adoption-on-new-cars-great-new-safety-measure-or-big-brother
  24. That other forum stuff on average use is interesting. But Briskoda is also a forum, and might use Miles more than km. & there are plenty running 1.5TSI's. People really should read the Owners Manual. The use of more Oil in the first 5,000 km has been there for decades, but this can be true. the May use as much as 0.5 litres per 1,000 km is an arse cover and has been there for years. It is not the acceptable oil use under normal use, what ever that is. Checking cold, and then checking the way the Owners Manual tells you to, as in at Normal Operating Temperature / Hot. not warm. That is after a few minutes, 10 or 15 or 30 is not a 'few'. The cars oil level really needed to be checked and known at 5,000 miles to know if it had the correct quantity in. But then the gent that works at the Skoda Dealership knows that. Who knows if it is using much oil if they have no idea when there was the correct level in. A few of the many threads on 1.5TSI's and oil. then there are all the ones asking what the correct oil is, well that is VW508 00 /509 00, so 0w 20 FS IV. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461786-oil-consumption http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/468008-oil-burning-karoq http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496544-burning-oil
