  1. My cousin asked about using E10 and I told her not to worry as wonderful stuff. She was only asking because her 54 plate Ka he as never felt so good. That really is just as it should be. My 2010 Suzuki has had 2 tank fills of E10 now, but tomorrow will be the first I will drive it and be able to check how it feels and what the average mpg is showing but that is usually 46 mpg as it does the same trips of 6 miles each way 5 or 6 days a week. Any change then I will know.
  2. As a paid up member of EVA Scotland i was able to watch a Webinar this week which had SWARCO Seniors on and Andy Robinson from Transport Scotland. https://chargeplacescotland.org http://transportscotland.org Transport Scotland are cutting SWARCO lots of slack, and personally to me it looks like a love in from 2 organisations that are pretty damn hopeless. All the stuff about the blame going to the previous provider and lack of records and incompatible stuff being transferred and Maintenance Contracts with Hosts & Providers etc. *Funnily they have been involved for 10 years in Scotland so really if they were caught out this July they need to think on about their team.* Well SWARCO can not even get the Map right for chargers and it shows them in the wrong places and even if you provide them with information on the correct locations they do not sort them weeks later. Local to me they show a Broughy Ferry charger hub as in the North of Forfar which is 18 miles further north than Broughty Ferry. The Broughty ferry hub is only 4 miles from the SWARCO HQ in Dundee. When you do use the CPS Site / App to check chargers they show as available in lots of cases even when they are being occupied by a car charging, even occupied and charging where someone phones CPS / SWARCO to have the charger started. They claim they have no connection with that charger, yet they started it charging. Loads of public money is going to Hosts / Local Authorities etc to help in installing chargers and then many are out of order for long periods of time, or even out of use for a year or more now and still showing on the system. As for using Apps to start chargers, that can be pretty hopeless where there is very poor phone reception so internet reception. That might well be why CPS / SWARCO have such poor up to date info and maybe why they were saying there was an issue with a SIM provider. 2021. They can not half spin stories. You would think they could get it right in a country like Scotland. Best not hire them to organise a pith up in a brewery. 2019 They have a long way to go, and Transport Scotland need to be making sure that it is not going to be taking for ever. Scottish MSP's and the Government, First Minister, Transport Minister etc need to actually get a grip and stop throwing public money the way of businesses that are failing to provide what they are contracted to do. If they are under staffed or resourced then that needs addressed. If those dealing with them on behalf of the public / tax payers are too close to them then maybe that is an issue.
  3. All of them. Rear window switches, ABS control units, etc etc. 800 - 1,400 Semi Conductors per vehicle. A Skoda article said less used in the New Fabia, or maybe that was the current Mk3 of which only the Estates will be still getting produced.
  4. Maybe ask Honest John owned by Heycar partly owned by VW Group if they really care about VW Group Customers having issues that has them without their cars.
  5. @ColinDScotland needs lots of shorting out yet. If you were coming up and counting on the new Stirling Hub at Castle View park and ride with 130 Solar Canopies and about 70 slow chargers & only 4 rapids you might be waiting your turn. (Hopefully not occupied for a week by people dwelling in caravans.) Maybe you would go into Dunblane to the Electric A9 hub, 2 rapid chargers, but Tesco Express & toilets, and a Train Station. 1 Rapid Charger in Auchterader, (Hopefully the Black Tesla driver is not having a working lunch break) more chargers in Perth. (fingers crossed working as often several around the Fair City are not and some have been closed for 2 years but still show as available.) A9, OK if chargers working and you are lucky to not be last at them. Head up the A92 if that is your way then that is so hit or miss. As to parking / charging. This week i was told about 2 drivers at a Charge Place Scotland Hub at a Car Park. They pulled into the chargers that were off line so they went into the shops intending to come out and try try and try again as is often required in Scotland only to be meet with Parking Tickets. There was no FREEDOM, The Chargers are for charging not parking in. Appeal Refused. Now the Super Rapid Chargers are coming to more locations provided by Business and even the likes of the one at Wallyford with CPS at 30pence a kWh (150 kWh available) which needs to be the norm all around, especially on the Tourist & even locals main and local routes. Go to Highland region where it is 30 pence a kWh on a 50 kWh charger that might work, might give a good speed but the 45 minutes limit means coming off and getting on again which they might or might not start again. I need about 60-70 mins on them to get a good charge. Rip off price by Highland Region. Toilets are what are needed, bushes near chargers for those desperate or a bus stop (for those parking and riding) really is not good enough.

  7. Not good news, but you would hope almost finished cars get completed and off to their new owners and not just lowest emissions cars first. http://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/vws-skoda-stop-production-czech-plants-week-due-chip-shortage-2021-09-16
  8. Expecting the people at the service desk to tell you what is 'Recommended by the manufacturer' other than oil & Filter changes to the engine and the pollen filter is an issue. Even if they told you the Haldex was due at 3 years or 30,000 miles or even sooner and how much that is does not mean they do it correctly and clean the pump / filter. Same with Brake Fluid change, they need to tell you. They might tell you at 2 years the A/C is due a service. Even Service Plans might not include the Haldex @ 3 years or the DSG at 40,000 miles.
  9. @SarganIt does not drive all 4 wheels as it has no locking diffs or centre diff, you have a part time all wheel drive that as you have found might end up driving 1 or 2 wheels or no wheels, the spinning fronts should have lead to some drive going to another 2 or 3.
  10. Welcome. At least they never said they are meant to be that way. Were they the Warranty Manager for that branch? People have has successful warranty claims. But first pictures need taking by the Dealership Employee and then a Warranty claim needs making. Products and cleaning ways can cause issues. ? Have you had it from new, or how long? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/457051-chrome-strip-becoming-milky http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/454635-marked-exterior-window-trim http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/451685-marking-on-chrome-around-front windows
  11. Best have the Haldex checked to see if working if no drive went to the rear wheels. So what tyres were fitted that you hoped would be getting grip / traction?
  12. Makes my day when warm and a 50kWh charger is putting that out when charging starts and stays at a good speed beyond 90% and then still OK at 98 or 99%. If that could be relied on things would be fandabydozy. Charging for free is my favourite thing. Electric prices in the UK are really going to be going high. Over 1,000 miles done at 'no cost' thanks to Charge Place Scotland and council regions with free chargers.
  13. They will be using trained people to complete the work. Likely more competent than techs / fitters or contractors employed at main dealerships. They will really be factory trained and with all the gear and no excuses.
  14. @Dzernejthere are plenty here that had cars or still do that sat weeks or months bunkered and some sat over the winter as Skoda / VW could not get WLTP Certification when that came in. Months old before being exported from CZ to other countries.
  15. @TerFarThe DQ200 DSG on the Fabia has no Service Recommendations for changing either of the oils in them. No Service Schedule to change the oil. People do have it done, but that should be because they want it done, and not because a Dealership Employee wrongly tells them it is due an oil change. The mk2 vRS did handle better when fitted with 215/40 R 17 tyres as VW, Audi & SEAT fitted to the twinchargers rather than the 205/40 R 17 OEM. Then them sandbagging the vRS by putting 'Success Ballast' on the rear crashbar of the hatches to make them heavier than the longer estates was just not great for handling. The sister cars which were heavier yet no faster did not need the rear ballast just as Mk2 Monte Carlo TSI or TDI's did not. (The Polo GTI 1.4TSI Twincharger got the battery in the boot and no Spare Wheel as standard which was good for balance / handling, no rear ballast weights and they were Type Approved to allow towing where the vRS was not, hatch or estate.) For anyone that does not know about VW & Vorsprung Durch Technik. While every other Car Manufacturer was making cars lighter, VW decided the Skoda Hatch could not be lighter than sister cars, or a VED class the same as the VW or Audi, or be quicker or more fuel efficient because the were cheaper. So Weights were designed, manufactured and added to the vRS hatch. Oddly when the Mk3 came out a big deal was made about them being on average 60 kg lighter. VW will do engineering of figures often rather than just honest engineerig. The Estate that was 9 3/4" longer than the hatchback was not really 5kg lighter as Skoda had Motoring Journalists and Sales People quoting. eg. How much did these cost, and why did no Monte Carlo owners add these as a performance mod to add to handling by making the front go light under acceleration and making the brakes work harder because the car was heavier. VW should have had to answer for nonsense like adding these.
  16. There is a post now with a link in the Octavia MK4 section. Production stopping.

  18. Very handy for having a car charged to 100% before starting a longer trip or having the car pre heated and fully charged before setting off. Being a 'cheap cable' should make no difference if that means not a rip off priced one, just as long as the correct / quality cable and & not some 'copy' / rip off item.
  19. For over a decade it has been common that UK drivers of right hand drive Mk2 Fabia have had issues with pulling to the left. More than just to do with the camber of the road, actually a fault how they came from the factory. It was not common that any drivers of left hand drive cars complained of the pulling to the right with cars from new. But then after use or wear and rear or incidents with kerbs or potholes things can go wrong. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/496942-skoda-is-pulling-left-shoulder-pain-started
  20. Surely they do. But the fire was only part of the issue globally. So they will Stop stockpiling cars when they get to 55,000 of them, and finish cars as quick as they get chips in, but it is a global shortage. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/features/computer-chip-shortage-affects-skoda-according-boss
  21. People on this forum have had cars that were built since July delivered or they are now on their way to dealerships, so the answer must be that cars are being finished after having been bunkered or just completed at the factory.
  22. They have tyres that the Manufacturers decided were suitable for OEM fitment like many other manufacturers fit. It will be interesting to hear if anyone got one with EV on the Tyre Walls. Michelin have Pilot Sport EV tyres.
  23. A VAQ Diff requires Oil Changes. You will get various answers from Service Desk Staff, ask what a Master Tech says, not a Workshop Manager. See the thread down the page on a Pre FL 230 vRS.
  24. Not much would be done in 3 years even if serviced to Manufacturers recommendactions. It would be an oil and filter service and Look see at 9,400 miles / 372 days if on fixed servicing so 2 or 3 times by now. If on Variable that would be at 18,000-20,000 miles / 24 months. Oil & Filter & Inspection Service, Pollen Filter & 2 years, Brake Fluid change at 3 years . Vacuumed / washed, road tested, software updates. all possibles. 3 years and on then Skoda shows these recommendations. (Not Schedules as cars on Service Plans might not get all these things done, even cars with FMDSH.)
  25. Many will treat lease cars badly as just wanting to get charged and driving. Those that will need to worry will be the next owner. Maybe not if they can get what they want for much cheapness as they might end up being at 3 years old with high battery degradation.
