  1. Can anyone help the member with a recommendation of a Independent in or around the area of North London? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497370-servicing-and-maintenance-main-dealers-or-independent
  2. Not a clue but someone is likely to know. If nobody here does why not ask a Private hire Car or Delivery driver in a Skoda or VW if you see one about.
  3. Best find a good independent with all the gear and more than just ideas & ridiculous prices. You get ones with licensed equipment, trained VW Group Techs & Master Techs that have had enough of VW Group Main Dealers. They will have the TPI's / Recall notices, and do the Oil Change of your DSG and do the Haldex Properly and not like a Main Dealership might. @ 6 years old any recalls you might get should be on the VIN checker or the Government Recall Site. Recalls are where a Keeper is contacted, Recall Actions like with Skoda is where you might never be told even if a Main Dealership Services your car. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions There is a thread on Independents i will put this thread there by posting. Or a mod can their way.
  4. @2006edr The Owners / Directors maybe allow employees to be at it, maybe they are at it as well, but someone was at it. Plenty have work done or buy goods for cash in hand and at a bargain price. You pay your money and take the chance. MP's do it with people they use.
  5. I was a car sprayer & an industrial sprayer, as in time served & worked at it. Soft and hard paint being discussed is interesting. Personally i have found that hard paint (brittle) is more prone to chips than soft paint. Well actually i find that you can have cars painted with the same process and some might be chipped and some might well not be. Stone chips are not touched in with a touch up to the factory spec and really the Manufacturers Paint or Corrosion / holed panel is void anyway by even using 'VW Group branded touch ups'. That is if you happened to be trying to claim on a location with a touched up area where there was a chip that you had just touched up to cover the chip.
  6. So Cash in Hand at a VAT Registered establishment will be a 'Nod as good as a wink to the blind donkey'. Part of the Shadow Economy that exists and is cheating the Treasury / HMRC / UK population. You are not supposed to broadcast it. No receipts, no records and really you have no comeback unless that same person deals with it.
  7. Is anyone going out to watch or watching on the telly? (ITV 4) https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk Loving the coverage of it but i had planned on going on Sunday to watch them pass by at Fettercairn which is the nearest point to me that would be easy to get to and away from, but i think i will watch it from home to see them do the whole stage. That is the final stage from Stonehaven to Aberdeen and goes over the Cairn O' Mount and as far west as Ballater. It as actually closed over there from 6pm on Saturday until they pass on Sunday. I hope the weather holds up for them as it is currently. Foggy mornings and scorchio during the day. http://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aberdeen/3452459/how-tough-are-tour-of-britain-cyclists-watch-as-i-learn-the-hard-way
  8. Visually wonderful but before seeing i heard it and thought a motorbike was arriving. Just a wonderful sound.
  9. 11% added in 50 minutes. 13% in 60. Other local TESCO have 22kWh chargers FREE and 50kWh for 28 pence kWh. LIDL also with 7,22 and 50 kWh chargers. Regened more in 4 miles of driving.
  10. TESCO 7kWh charging FREE. I thought I might give it a try. Pulled up, read the instructions and was ready to download an APP. Plugged in and it started charging without doing anything. 9.40 am and I had 74% / 99 miles showing. Charging at 21 mph. If I want to charge more than 15 minutes I need to go onto the APP. I will do that. Edit . I had the Pod Point App. Opened it. Location came right up. Confirmed I was charging. All so easy. 3% added in 10 minutes. Temp is 23°C. Scorchio. Larry.
  11. Owners are receiving Skoda's. Even people that made Factory Orders after March 2021. Delays are everywhere but not total as that would really be an issue.
  12. Main ones benefiting with plug ins are those paying less in tax. Some less in fueling They can write off cost of a fob battery with their tax saved. Also Manufacturers are saving millions or billions in fines by being able to manipulate the emission figures by even not fitting a spare wheel as OEM equipment. New tech, so much more kidology. Low fuel consumption and higher oil consumption or fixed service oil change intervals with expensive oil in plug in hybrids.
  13. The age of a car as in when first registered is not how old the car is and age is no indication of how much a key battery has been used. Simply clever to have a spare battery kept in the car. The door can be opened with the key.
  14. @Softie42how did you switch it off, or is it just reset on a fixed interval for 372 days / 9,400 miles? What exactly does the owners manual say about service indicators as it is easy to check? What Skoda and VW Service websites show as part of a service is Reset Service Indicator. Where you used failed to do that it appears.
  15. A good place to look is the Enyaq's Owners Manual and see the Wheel / Tyre size that Skoda give for fitting Snow Chains to.
  16. A Briskoda member and motoring journalist with a car with the issue.
  17. Bonnie Scotland. (During Lock Down, Ski Centres closed to anyone other than from that Region)
  18. @TimmyWimmyWoogets right to the point with reviews, tells it as he sees it. Maybe Subscribe on Youtube.
  19. A reviewer that is a Briskoda member.
  20. 'we' have up to 20,000 miles / 24 months, which ever comes first of Variable / Flexible.
  21. People have been reporting a poor charging speed at Ionity in Gretna Green for long enough and not having the same issue when charging at Perth.
  22. Guest_ replied to Ryeman's topic in Electric Vehicles
The face here is not that dissimilar. These are very much what many do want or need.
  23. You can crawl along at walking pace with Autohold enabled and Stop / Start switched off. Autohold only comes on when you press the brake harder when stopped, light touch enough to stop or slow the car does not have it apply the brakes to hold the car automatically with no foot on the brake pedal or e-Brake applied.
  24. @andyste1 Does your car actually have 'Autohold' and a button with a yellow light, light lit and Autohold enabled, light out, off. ? Or is it Hill Hold Assist / Hill Hold Control you have, press the brake hard enough when on a slight slop and hold the car a few seconds.
  25. Possibly as they are chasing low Average C02's as VW Group failed miserably last year.
