Fuel cleaning agent
http://statista.com/statistics/312071/motor-fuel-market-by-brand-in-the-united-kingdom-uk https://www.statista.com/statistics/312170/petrol-station-volume-by-owner-type-in-the-united-kingdom-uk The statistics will be here and it might show Branded Stations as being more than 50% of Road Fuel Sales and it will not just be cars. But what shows as Super Market Filling stations are not always so like Tesco Extra places that has not got Tesco Fuel at the Pumps but Esso. That is then a Branded Filling station. Delivered by Greenergy which is part owned by Tesco & partnered with Royal Dutch Shell for importation & storage. The Issa brothers that own EG and how bought Asda have big plans for Filling stations in the UK and EV charging etc. Even though they are being forced to give up some of the stations they own or operate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohsin_Issa There is obviously Goods vehicles etc filling up at places with bunkered fuel, their own depots and then with Agency Cards and at Branded non supermarket Stations. Same with passenger cars, taxis /private hire and others. .............................................................. Tesco PLC not only had Testing carried out with their 95 & 99 and competitors but published it, or at least it was accessible. No longer so but luckily i held on to the results from 2012. There was only 1 other retailer of 99 octane Super Unleaded at the time and that was Royal Dutch Shell. 388380a097b04fe693a8c27db8bb4974 (1) (1).pdf 6ca06d648b9541e78fa838fece4a1a23 (1) (1).pdf

Fuel cleaning agent
Tesco and Asda and Sainsbury management / fleet managers want the most economic home deliveries from their diesel vehicles. Where do their vehicles fill up with their Derv? Supermarket Fuel is in no way substandard when you are talking regular Diesel or 95 Ron unleaded compared to that in the non Supermarket Filling stations selling Regular Diesel or Unleaded petrol. The majority of cars in the UK are fueled at Supermarket filling stations now.

Real World Range
The big difference to journeys which are over a run with only the odd stop is the battery temp compared to sitting stopped and a battery cooled and the car's interior cooled and when you stop you might switch off and have no lights on the car. Town driving can actually be good for regening. So it comes down to how long stopped and waiting time between fare paying customers and length of journey. Car interior temp for customers will make a difference as will location location location. I know that friends driving EV,s in Dundee had the cars plugged in and hot ready to go do jobs. There is a sizeable fleet and has been for a good few years now. Not been around Dundee much recently to see if anyone has Enyaqs or ID.4,s plated.

@JaytipIt will be good to hear peoples experiences of their Enyaq 60. My guess is you will be safe for getting 180 miles from starting with a full charge and still some range left before charging again. But a bit of a charge when below 40% will help matters if you are on a 100kW charger. 58 kWh Usable. If charged to 100%. You will not run til empty so say with 55 kWh used. If you get 4 miles per kWh then 220 miles. 3.5 miles per kWh 192.5 miles. 3.2 miles per kWh 176 miles. There will be so many variables for you though. The weather / temperature, how many passengers and is there luggage, the interior temp you will have the cars interior at, daytime use or night time. Just being nosy but also really interested, How many miles or hours do you normally do per shift? Are you going to be charging at home before starting shifts? & if during a shift will it be charging on a rapid 100kW charger? Where in the country are you?

Maybe even 102 Octane, as Tesco Momentum 99 is 99 ron minimum. Amazing performance for your car which likely uses about 100 ps if that of the possible 245 ps + at 70 mph. 185 miles range and no need to fill up for 7-10 days. Not exactly a high mileage driver. There can be a thing as too much detergents.

Burning Oil
@timsterThe Octavia vRS iV will require to be on Fixed Oil & Filter changes will it not and not on Variable / Flexible?

Fuel cleaning agent
@TheWandererHow much is that Ecomax to give 30 miles compared to if you bought 3 litres of petrol? EDIT. I see, 10 tanks worth from the 500 ml bottle, so about the price of 1 litre of Unleaded per tank. or 2 litres equivalent for 'additional performance.'
-
What tyres did you get?
Very common with a Tesla. Lets call them 'Wheel Trims that do not need zip ties to keep them on.
-
Burning Oil
@zetzet even if left for 24 months between oil and filter changes that is not going to happen.

1.5tsi cold start engine knocking noise
That will be on 2 or 4 cylinders then and hopefully not 3 cylinders. That was reserved by VW Group for the 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kW Twinchargers, but not by design just by how many end up running that way after 1 spark plug burns up.
-
Burning Oil
@zetzet All modern cars can burn oil, and some will. But not all do. The engine parts, the production line is the same, the engine management might be the same and the same VW 508 00 / 509 00 so 0w 20 FS IV oil is used but not all use excessive oil. But then the same driver does not drive them all, and they are not all on the same road or weather. Knowing what yours uses is all that matters as all do not use lots.

Service due - Dealer concern
Here. https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price Participating Dealers, 3-10 year old cars. Money for old rope. Taking the Michael.

Service due - Dealer concern
What matters is what has been done since 2017, and what it was the last time and how many miles has the car done. Year 4 is not really a Minor Service, but then they are no Longer Minor & Major. Or Major / Major each 2 years. Brake Fluid was due @ 3 years, or t least tested. This should be a 2nd Pollen Filter. If at 40,000 miles the DSG is due an Oil Change. It is not 4 yearly, or at the 2nd Major Service. Skoda Main Dealer prices to change an Air Filter or Pollen Filter are ridiculous. Do yourself if you can. This was the prices but they are up now. Best get an Independent with all the Gear and more than ideas on doing VW Group cars.

1.5tsi cold start engine knocking noise
Welcome. I posted after your other post in the Rattle thread. Sorry i can not hear anything wrong, or anything if there is anything to hear, so no better than whoever you spoke with at the Dealers. If you think it sounds wrong and they say it is normal then get a drive of an identical car and be sure that the Master Tech drives yours. Or at least starts it, It got a PDI but that means nothing. Dealerships have special requirements of staff. EDIT. Have you checked the oil level cold and at normal operating temp so that you know in the future where it was at hand over. How long does it take your engine to get to 'operating temp' and do you mean the coolant to an indicated 90*oC or the Oil to get to that?
-
New car TSI rattle
@spydas If it is an annoying noise and one that a car should have, especially a new car best get back to the Dealership and have them find the rattle. Is the noise from the engine compartment / front of the car? Have you checked the tyre pressures the car came with, reset and reset the TPMS. Also checked the Oil & Coolant levels when cold so you can compare in the future. Be sure the Oil level at operating temp is as it should be and the level is not low. There is 'Driving in information / running in' in the Owners Manual. Where are you in the world and what have you got in the way of a gearbox. EDIT. I see you have started a thread. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/497093-15tsi-cold-start-engine-knocking-noise

Lane assist is dangerous
My father never had to take a test as he was born in 1923 and it was not necessary, there was a war.. My mum never let him forget it and that she did pass a test. She is 96 now and was driving up to about 7 years ago. Never had an accident that she thought was her fault...

Eco mode throttle blip
@ItalianJobWhen people read this on a phone then they have no idea what engine / gearbox so model you are speaking about, and there is quite a difference between petrols (ACT or not) , diesels. hybrids and manuals and DSG's.

Lane assist is dangerous
The Young have accidents that might involve others. We did did we not, or maybe you never. Plenty older drivers just cause accidents, or frustrate others, plenty wandering out of lane etc and generally can not get their head around modern tech. *Maybe older drivers just have smaller accidents and offer to pay without putting it through the insurance and claims are not made and not wanting Insurance hassles people agree.* That could be Real World. Statistics are just that, compiled from statistics by statisticians' No harm then charging £50 for a driver having to have a 30 minute drive with an Examiner next to them. That could be a £50 extra discount from insurers if you pass. They can charge more if a driver fails and needs a retest. Using the facilities where there were drive in vaccinations would have been a good time while there was all those volunteers and military hanging about and slack times. The simplest things are the best. Set up roadside stops for vehicle checks, breath test and drugs wipes for all, ask the driver when they passed their test and an examiner can ask if they want to have a wee jaunt then or put it off for up to 6 months until the jam up on the Highway Code.

Lane assist is dangerous
In the UK it is well past time that those that last sat a UK Driving Test over 40 years ago were required to sit another. Theory & an actual test, 6 months notice before taking it to get to know their highway code and maybe get some professional instruction. Job Creation Scheme... Then it is time that all MP's that have not got an HGV Driving Licence or that have not passed one in the last 20 years should be required to sit one at their own expense. Then they might know what they are talking about with the shortage of HGV drivers and how those losing jobs can get trained to be drivers. They might also then rethink legalising Electric Stand on Scooters.

DSG transmission or manual gearbox?
@fr1nklyn A 1.6TDI does not get a 7 speed wet clutch DSG, it will be a DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch with no Service Recommendations or Schedule for oil changes from VW Group at any miles / km. If having a 1.6TDI to use in a city then the DSG is the perfect thing to have. It is the 1.6 TDI that might be more of an issue. Maybe an issue if the previous owner / driver used it for short cold start journeys as a Taxi / Private hire car. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/435696-16-tdi-dsg-reliability http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/455607-dsg-gearbox-error

Changing the DRL's on Fabia VRS
Welcome I replied in your other post. eBay is the usual place to find them being sold. Then at main dealers they order them in for you. Or on Briskoda if someone is breaking a car. But I think the member that was has sold them to another member.
-
Where can I buy a replacement DRL for a 2013 Mk 2 Skoda Fabia VRS?
Usually you get them showing on Ebay, then Main Dealerships get them in and in the recent post last month in this section I think the member was buying from another member breaking his Mk2 Fabia vRS. I used to just put Helicopter Tape Clear tape or Film on them when cracked, and when not cracked put it on before they do get cracked. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/495652-drls http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/468751-daytime-running-light-bulb

Lane assist is dangerous
There is a great place to try out Lane Keep Assist or Automated Driving if activated in something like a Tesla. Manufacturers should go there to try out their systems. The road to and near Whitelee Wind Farm. B764. 6 minute 47 seconds as you cross the regions boundary is a cracker. She is driving there in this vid. Maybe she put Lane Keep Assist off @ 50 seconds & again 2 minute.
