Oil level warning
As long as the checking is done pretty much the same way. But it is a 'few minutes' that VW / SEAT / Skoda / Audi seem to have used, and a few is much less than 10-15 minutes. Only the 1.2 44kW engine is to be checked cold according to owners manuals, and while Skoda said 'Warm' VW often say at Operating Temperature or Normal Operating Temperature. Too many cars leave a Service with the oil level low and this is easily checked by looking at Used Sales cars at Dealerships or just your own car when collecting it. ** When a Low Oil Warning Light or message shows and you open the bonnet yet do nothing the light then goes out for as much as 60 miles.**

Oil level warning
I posted since 2012 about Service Books. The OP has a 2014 car. Then they posted a litre used every 2,700 was being used. Many have found that to be very normal. (2,700 miles is 4,345 km. so 0.5 litres used every 2,172 km if the use is that when checked properly.) Service records started being online in 2013 and Service books stopped being in cars when delivered, some still got them for a while longer. By 2014 they were pretty much not in vehicles, but you could buy them and have them stamped. It was a shame because the Body Inspection page was after the Service Page and Skoda UK started saying that there was no Record of Body Inspections when people made Warranty Claims on paint or Corrosion, yet the checks should be done at Main Dealer Services and also put on the system, so Skoda / VW know who are not or were not doing them. As to the oil, dealership employees would say 0.5 litres oil per 1,000 km was within tolerances yet Skoda / VW group have replaced engines that used 0.3 litres per 1,000 km as using oil at the rate a 2 stroke might is not acceptable. The thing is you needed an Official Oil Consumption test as per TPI, and then some Tech doing it who actually knew 1 litre of engine oil at 15*oC does not weigh 1,000 grams. ................. This members car actually got a new engine as the Tech carrying out the Official Oil Consumption test did not know their arse from their elbow. There are many similar examples of the same over the years and not only with Mk2 Fabia. The oil capacity of this 1.4TSI is 3.6 litres and the weight is 857 grams a litres as given by Skoda and as should be in the TPI not 1,000 grams. Top one was a co-ck up. and bottom one they had the nerve to accuse the owner of topping up oil during the test that was wrongly carried out. Both the same type engine. CAVE 1.4 TSI / 132 kW Twinchargers that the recommended oil is 5w 30 FS but 0w 30 FS can be used, but actually the Service Code of these was for Fixed Servicing so VW 502, 5w 40 FS could be used.

Citigo ASG
@HeavyMetalRich My mate who owns a garage got it from me for his Mum and when i checked the MOT is outstanding on it. I must ask him what happened with it as i assumed she would maybe still have it.

Welcome to ISA - (intelligent speed assistance limiter) - UK to follow EU adoption on new cars - great new safety measure or Big Brother ?
@KenONeillRead your bit on coaches being allowed to do over 60 on Motorways, well some are, and some are not, and they will not be between Stirling & Perth or North of Perth. Then some HGV's limited to 40 or 50 on parts of the A77 will be exceeding that by quite a bit. But then i know what roads i am on when driving at the speed i am and know what other vehicles are limited to on those roads.

@SurreyJohn How many Skoda cars have you see that came with a Service book since around 2012? ? If most TSI's use less than 0.5 litre every 10,000 miles what about those that use more, which is quite a lot among Euro 5 1.2, 1.4, 1.8 and 2.0 TSI's. Some need some oil and run on just fine for many years. People drive in all sorts of ways, lots of short journeys or a mix or mostly longer ones and it all makes a difference. If you pay attention you will see across the Briskoda Section just how many ask about what oil they need for topping up their TSI's. That includes pretty new Euro 6 TSI's.

^^^ The above was on the Tyres on those cars at the time of testing, not all drive on OEM size tyres, that might be more of the case when using winter tyres. Hopefully many of us here know what speed the vehicles they are driving are actually at and not sticking to the speedo indication and have frustrated drivers behind them, especially those that chose to hog the outside lane as the inside lane carries on passing them.

@KenONeill There are no Motorways North of Perth, and the A9 from Stirling to Perth is not a Motorway. @lol-loland others doing Speed Awareness Courses should be tested on knowledge of the highway code. Coaches of different lengths have different Max Speeds and England & Wales differs on those with Scotland. A HGV pilot scheme on speed limits was carried out on the A9.

@lol-lolIf you remember the threads in this section you might remember that the 10+2 tolerance was and is an England & Wales thing since the Scottish Government allowed Police Scotland to have a period of a pilot scheme and then changed the powers they had. No speed awareness courses in the Scotland but there are towns on Trunk Roads with Average Speed Cameras in the town and 20mph speed limits. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/362725-police-scotland-getting-new-powers-on-speeders-who-are-just-over-the-limit

Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
Actually they could just have engine management suitable for drivers driving rather than what they have to have cars achieve results under the WLTP . If it was a 'Feature' then all those cars that drive well must be faulty in not getting the 'kangerooing'.

Oil level warning
Skoda / VW say after a 'few minutes' that is 4 or 5 minutes. You will not overfill if the oil is not much above the crosshatch so in area A when at Normal Operating Temp, that is around 90*oC. ? Are you topping up with and servicing with 5w 30 FS III (VW 504 00) or 5w 40 FS (VW 502 00) At the next service i would start using VW502 00, & stick with fixed service intervals.

The Max legal speed in the UK will still be 70 mph for a Renault Clio RS and it will still be the NSL of 60 mph. Plenty roads with 60 mph speed limits were i stick to the speed limit have HGV's or Coaches passing me, even Speed Camera Partnership vans which have a max limit on those roads of 50mph.

Oil level warning
I hope it is not getting to 1 litre low before getting topped up, as in every 2,700 miles. Are you checking it sooner and maybe topping up with 1/2 a litre each time? VW Group / Skoda tell you it 'May use as much a 1 litre in 1,242 miles, but then you are not going over mountain passes in high summer towing an elephant. (0.5 litres in 1,000 km) they said that for decades, but you might use as much oil as you are. ?? Are you sure you start off after services with the oil level at full, do you ever check? ** Not that clever waiting until the oil might be 1/4 or more low and you get a warning light or message.** When you get someplace maybe check it, or before you set off from a place where you have parked. Best that is done after at least 10 miles driving you check the oil level with the oil at normal operating temp. Stop someplace where it is level and see there is enough oil. OK checking it cold but best you know where it is the way it should be checked & that is hot, not warm.

Skoda 1.5 TSI ACT
It is only a feature of faulty cars as not all were delivered to owners / drivers with this. The person that says it is a feature should be named in communications to Skoda & the VW Group. They are a muppet.

Fast charging at 100kW - anyone actually done it?
Obviously a 100 / 100 + kW charger makes a difference to many when charging compared to a 50kW charger when a car can charge with 100 kW charger. My car gets charged on 50kW chargers and charges pretty quick mostly to 80% but that can be hit or miss at different chargers, and then it is less quick from then, and pretty slow from 95% plus. (Charged on 50kW or 22 kW chargers because that is all that is available, i would pay to charge quicker sometimes if chargers were available where i am at when charging is required.) It is a damn sight quicker to 80% when on a 100kW charger. This makes a big difference when on a journey and sitting about waiting to get going. 20 or 30 minutes is a big difference if like me charging is needed at least every 150 miles and you are going 300 miles plus. Currently with only 50kW chargers available i allow an extra hour for every 150 miles driven as getting on a charger is not guaranteed, and then time can be wasted messing about driving on to find an alternative charger. Then before continuing if away from home you might be with the vehicle still charging yet again. At least when the weather is very cold outside you can be dead toasty in the vehicle while charging and hopefully keep the windows from steaming up. Wind Deflectors so windows can be down in snow or rain are rather important if a driver or driver and passengers are going to be sitting in a car for maybe an hour or more charging.

STP petrol injector cleaner??
@felix79 The petrol suppliers put the detergents in for you and you pay enough buying the 95 ron that will be E10 soon if not now, and you can pay a few pence a litre more and run E5 Super Unleaded that will be 97 or 99 ron mimimum.

Fast charging at 100kW - anyone actually done it?
Obviously many need to be using the other electricity produced from wind farms & solar, and where the solar & wind is being generated have storage in the form of batteries which many have. The ASA will be down on Gridserve if their advertising is a lie. http://power-technology.com/news/hitachi-and-gridserve-partner-on-multi-million-pound-renewable-deal http://gridserve.com/grid-power-overview http://gridserve.com http://gridserve.com/electric-vehicle-charging No 100 or 100 + kW chargers here. '30% electricity generated from solar'. https://stirling.gov.uk/news/2021/june-2021/low-carbon-transport-hub-with-132-solar-panels-sparks-into-life-in-stirling http://drivedundeeelectric.co.uk/princes-street http://zap-map.com/largest-ev-charging-hub-in-scotland-officially-opened http://zap-map.com/pts/spyh0lo http://www.emtecgroup.co.uk/news-article/halo-hub-kilmarnock-2 Gridserve & other Commercial businesses are doing it differently from other Charging Hubs like Stirling & Public Low Carbon Charging Hubs..

Rory doing a public service. Of course cars built in the UK for the UK or Export will get built in the same as cars built in other countries and imported.

Waiting for a new car?
It is not only Velvet Red with the Ateca and the Solid, Metallic or Specials. all showing at 'No Cost'. Everything different cost only a few Euro / Yen / Dollar / GBP in manufacturing and within the VW Group, but what is charged by VW, Audi, Skoda or SEAT can make no sense. Being charged Extra cost just for Enabling functions on a vehicle that you are buying and has the software / hardware already on the vehicle. What we do know is that the RRP's needed not reflect what you pay but currently supply is not as high as demand.

How many miles should I get out of Michelin CrossClimates (and/or other tyres)?
EDIT. I see you just have them on the Front, if that is right what are on the rear, and could those from the front if good enough tread go to the rear and get a new pair of CrossClimates??? What wear is there, are any of the four / front tyres showing uneven wear? Pull into a Tyre & Exhaust centre and they might measure your treads for you if not busy. 3mm plus would be nice. It would have been good if the mechanic used a depth gauge and measured the tread of your tyres or if you did. Or take picture and post it here. How one person drives compared to another makes a difference of maybe 11,000 miles or 22,000 miles or 36,000 miles. So does moving tyres front to rear and rear to front ever year or sooner. What size are your CrossClimate? http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/473898-tyre-tread-depth-change http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/493035-at-what-tread-depth-do-you-change-your-tyres Below, CrossClimate +. Bluefin / Superchips woes
& the Warranty with the manufacturers does not help because a remap even removed is voiding the warranty. & Superchips do not pay to repair cars, but then there is the Warranty. I read the T&C's and have warned people over the years to as well.

Bluefin / Superchips woes
So Superchips / Bluefin are the ones that offer a Warranty, that is on them coc-cking up. So return with the car, and if they can not have it running right get the remap removed, do not mess about with stuff if the remap is the issue. Get a refund. EDIT, sorry, see running standard now. ? So is it a TSI or a TDI, if a TSI did you check and change the plugs before remapping and is it running on 99 ron Super Unleaded? EDIT, So a TDI /Glow plugs. ?? Has it had a new Fuel Filter, and is it running an OEM Air Filter and is that clean? ie, serviced well!

Service Costs - Confused or Naive
Compared to a Skoda Main Dealer it is a bargain. So they would be if on Fixed Service & Maintenance Pricing. £185 Oil & Inspection Service. £60 Extended Scope. £215 DSG Oil Change. £45 Air Filter £35 Pollen Filter £70 Diesel Filter. ? Was the Brake Fluid change due, or have they tested the brake fluid? £65 @ Skoda. £ 610 at least. Then they offer, Oil Flush, AC Service £140, or AC Cleanse £30, & tell you the disc are 80% worn some places. Spark Plugs are £100 plus. BRAKE CHECK IS FREE. So what is the EXTENDED SCOPE CRAP?
