I Don't Know S***, But I'm Ready To Learn - OBDII, Spark Plugs, Oil Change, Air Filters, etc. ('08 Roomster 3 1.6 petrol)
Welcome to the forum. Lots you have listed like issues with doors / locks (windows) will come up in this forum if you look through a few pages. Wiring loom at door. I am all for DIY and getting to know the car, going to evening classes on car maintenance when there is no pandemic etc, but when Money is tight enough to mention it can sometimes be worth getting a professional before buying tools. What i am suggesting is finding a Local Mechanic, maybe best a Man / Woman with a van, and see what they charge. So they can do a Mobile Service Person job and maybe you an ask can you watch. They will know how to read fault codes. You can see what they see, they can print the codes logged. You will see a little of how to do a diagnosis. They will know if an Ignition Coil is the issue. The plug change will be quick. The Air & Pollen Filter will be quick for them to do. Ask them if they want you to buy the Spark Plugs, pollen / cabin filter / Air & Oil Filter and the OIl, or if they want to provide them. You can get the car serviced, watch what they are doing, get told what more needs doing and what you can do yourself. Next time you might have all the gear and a bit of an idea. They will be jacking the car up as you would need to, be checking the bearing, brakes, steering etc at least with an inspection.

Ran over a truck tyre
@homai I did read what you said about the tyres centre. But then i have no idea just how good the person that did the inspection is, and then checked the alignment and balanced the wheel and took money for that. Did the Independent Mechanic also look at the car? The best way of getting an idea of the cost of the sensor being replaced at a Skoda Approved Repairer / Dealership in Australia is to ask them what they will charge to diagnose and to replace the sensor if it is the sensor that is required.

Welcome to the forum. Not so sure about the safe to drive without a proper diagnosis and inspection being done. If you say what age of Fabia you have a mod can maybe move your post.

Octavia IV PHEV servicing
PS The Issue with stuff in Skoda Brochures / Web Sites is there is no guarantee they are accurate or even take into account new models like Electrics, Mild Hybrids, Plug in or Full Electrics. So best get in Writing from Skoda UK Customer Services if a 'Plug in Hybrid' must be on 'Fixed Interval Oil Changes' or does the Keeper / Driver have the choice of the car being on Variable or Fixed. The Service Inspection & Oil Change thing already confuses many with Petrol & Diesels as it is now. What a Sales Person or Service Desk Staff member tells you is only as good as what some person told them, which often can be totally incorrect and then the error continues at that branch until someone actually knows what they are talking about.

Octavia IV PHEV servicing
Are VW confusing things with their Service Information on Plug In Hybrids by making it look like YOU MUST HAVE THE CAR ON 'Fixed Servicing' to change the oil at 9,000 miles / annually on cars / engines that might actually not have the engine running often if say the 'Driver' only does 25 miles a time between each charge of the battery and only drive on Electric. ACTUALLY 'Fixed Oil Changes' not Fixed Services. Or is their advice because of that to only have Fixed Servicing but if you want you can leave the car on Variable and it leaves the Factory set for Variable Oil Change Intervals. ? Are Skoda Sales Staff Confused or using confusion to Up-Sell Fixed Servicing / Service Plans?

Is 1.5TSI coasting on D mode while Normal mode selected?
The OP says what engine they are asking about. It really gets confusing when people start comparing what the latest or earliest 1.5 TSI with ACT and a 7 speed DSG does and other petrol or diesels with 6 or 7 speed DSG's witch do not have ACT or a DQ200 DSG.. They are not all equal or do their thing in the same way. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/494047-coasting

Front discs noisy
@JohnboyabDo not bend over and assume the position with AC because that is what they expect customers to do once they get your money and drive away. Which actual Dealership were you at. They do not like when you post on Trustpilot, or when you visit the Dealer Principal or kick off infront of Customers. I like to get a test drive in a car and keep it until they deal properly with me. They can call Police Scotland if they so wish. They take the pith.

Skoda Octavia 1.8 TFSI DSG Flashing D
'34F7' the Service Campaign in the UK/ Europe, (Not deserving of the World Wide Recall...)as Europe is told what to do by VW) to change the synthetic oil for mineral and the software update started in 2014 on 2009-2012 DQ200's so that has come and gone. So back to the MCU that was replaced, or a fork selector or clutch pack issue. The box needs a diagnostic done on it again. A reset is not going to fix things. A look to see if oil has leaked from the MCU is worth doing.

Front discs noisy
So what is the story? How many miles has your car done and are the discs just rusty or with a rusty rim. Ooo arr! Pointless really speaking to people at AC's as if they do not know the answer they just make it up. Actually they do sell loads of cars with noisy brakes if they forget to give them an Italian Tuneup.

Front discs noisy
Welcome to the forum. Who did you talk to at Skoda, or was it someone at a Skoda Dealership? Tell us which of Scotlands Skoda Dealerships this was at. If they are all like that then people are being cheated that get brakes that are not noisy.

Listers Skoda - Coventry
On the Fixed Price servicing menu which is for cars 3-10 years old they charge £35 for the filter. A ridiculous price. But your car is not 3-10 years old on a fixed servicing regime.

Thats the Oil filter. You can remove the pollen filter, give it a vacuum if not too dirty, and clean / wash around the area, or just replace the filter as it is a 2 year consumable.

Octavia IV PHEV servicing
Is that a salesperson at the dealership telling you that? Ask the Dealer Principal in person if that is true that the car must be on a Fixed Service Regime, every 9,400 miles / 372 days, which ever comes first. ? Ask why it can not be on Variable / Flexible servicing? EDIT, this is what VW are showing for the Golf Hybrid. Oil changes fixed and at 9,000 miles. http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners-and-drivers/servicing/service-plans/service-schedules/electric

@EnterNameHave you replaced the pollen filter yourself?

Octavia 1.4TSI service intervals
Welcome to the forum. The DSG & Diff is different from with your SEAT. The first brake fluid change is at 3 years, or get the H20 level checked and maybe do not get the fluid changed if no need. It is each 2 years after the first change. Maybe have it tested each year, or changed if you want whenever. The DQ200 7 speed DSG you have needs no Oil Change, now or ever. (But maybe ever is too long, maybe in another 5 years if you have the car then.) Diff oil to be left alone alone like the DSG. Cam belts are a whole other discussion and there are plenty threads on that for the 1.4TSI.

Service interval - 6 years and only 30,000 miles - advice please
Personally if i did not know if Brake Fluid had been changed i would have it checked for the H20 content. At a Service the Tech or Mechanic can check it with a tester. I would not just change it for the sake of it. (Actually i have a tester to check myself.)

Speed camera warning request.
The UK NSL is 60 mph for passenger cars not towing unless another speed is posted then that speed must be posted in repeater signs at specific distances. As the max speeds change there is a sign telling you and when the speed goes back to the NSL there is a sign clearly showing that. I am still managing to be 3 points away from a ban having points on my licence for knowingly breaking the speed limits posted and doing it where i happened to be caught doing it. PS. The Speed is on signs at the side of a road and should easily be recognised as a Speed Limit. (Some get covered by hedges / trees / mould and the RD leave them like that), maybe also the speed is painted on the road like some 20mph speed limits in towns and even on trunk routes now, and then they can be on overhead gantries, but the law requires that the speed limits / restrictions are clearly posted, permanent or temp max speed limits. Where it is the NSL then that need not be posted, you are supposed to know the NSL in the UK for the vehicle you are driving.

Service interval - 6 years and only 30,000 miles - advice please
Do you have a Service Record of anything other than Oil & Filter changes? Has it had the brake fluid changed at 3 year and 5 years or anytime in the past 6 years. Same with the Fuel Filter, Air Filter or Pollen Filters, have they been changed anytime / anytime recently.

Home charger
Welcome to the forum. Did the Dealership employees give any advice or recommendations? Hopefully those here with experience of home chargers in England or even Bristol will be along with advice on chargers, tariffs & energy providers. I do not have one at home and just use public chargers. I have no idea about grants in England and Charger Installation, but i know that for some areas in Scotland there is what looks like a cartel or cabal where the prices of installation is being manipulated among those doing the installations.

KPH/MPH
Sitting and thinking and just considering how many on this forum have reported actually being hit from behind at any time of the year because of Auto Assist Braking, or who just posted about close things and no hit. The Insurers will know how many blame the Auto Braking or just drivers hitting then up the jacksy because they are too close and driving without due care and attention. Maybe the car following cars with Auto Braking need Auto Braking functioning.

Finding a decent Mkiii Octavia
New cars can obviously be In transit, and used ones that are demonstrators / ex management might be still be getting driven and will be available after 3 months / 3,000 miles or sometimes longer, and some cars are expected in at end of lease or when the new car the customer or dealership are waiting on arrives from being in transit or just on order. There is so much BS about you never know the truth and often sales staff do not know either. They are just there to sell and earn a living. Some or most are sellers of finance.
-
Finding a decent Mkiii Octavia
Because they get commission on selling what costs less than £30 in materials and under an hour's labour to do. I used to do that as a job. As it is the car is getting polished before you buy it and that is part of what you are paying to buy at a dealers. If paint protection was required then that gets applied at the factory. Actually paint / lacquer gets applied and a regular wash, polish and wax keeps the paint good.

Finding a decent Mkiii Octavia
Interior condition as in looking like new really tells you nothing about how a company / fleet car might have been used. Those might be lovely inside but have been ragged daily. Maybe only the drivers seat used if not used as a family car. The roughest of cars handed back at the end of lease and put through auction can then be refinished for the forecourt to look fantastic. The shined up tyre on the scruffy alloy in the picture in the post shows a car that has not had that much of a preparation done. Ex Motability cars are one previous registered keeper but you have no idea how many drivers or that automatically they are cared for. Many will be very well looked after, and some not so, but at re-sale will be looking fandabbydozy. 3 years old & over 20,000 miles might mean there was a Service at 2 years/ 20,000 miles and another before 3 years when it got brake fluid changed and the MOT done early. They are appearing ever 3 years or sooner as Motability is the biggest Group buyer in the UK and the cars then go through BCA to be bought by traders / dealers.

Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo 2017 - Tyres + TPMS?
Name of company matches their emblem. http://passenger-car.kormoran-tyres.com/history Tigar Tyres is a strange name for a tyres company that Michelin also bought.

Delivery tyre pressures
66 psi is a crazy pressure and higher than the tyres are put at for transportation.
