  1. You need to remove all trace of rust, get rust inhibitor on the metal inside and out and then prep / etch and fill and sand, build prime, sand and paint. It needs doing properly and then likely it will come again because the moisture is inside. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/448654-paint-corrosion http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/481574-2011-fabia-boot-rust-is-it-covered-like-vws-are http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/461194-fabia-tailgate-rust http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/437555-tailgate-rust http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/450331-fabia-rear-door-corrosion Happening now with some Mk3 Fabia. I wonder will Skoda have sorted this out now when the Mk4 is produced?
  2. -10 to -15*oC is the sort of temps i have driven DSG's in and i have never been aware of them behaving any differently. The only thing is that you can not start some in N at -10*oC.
  3. There are world regions with possible ambient temps far lower than you will ever get in Bulgaria so what oil is used in VW Group wet clutch DSG's there?
  4. ARNOLD CLARK do not only put a big yellow sticker on the cars they have ARNOLD CLARK on the Reg Plates and just to be sure they are noticed they are often on squint. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/348797-arnold-clarke-stickers Still some might spell the surname wrong. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/398828-removing-dealer-stickers
  5. VW Group did a World Wide Recall of DQ200's 7 speed twin dry clutch DSG's in 2012/13 which was just a service campaign in Europe from 2013/14 to change the Synthetic Oil to mineral and do a software update. That was because of internal corrosion from sulphur due to the additive in the synthetic oil. DQ200's have 2 oils, for the box and the MCU. Wet Clutch DSG's have only one oil. When did VW group move from full to semi-synthetic oils in Wet Clutch DSG's?
  6. They will only be charging the battery as full as they should, that is not fully charged. They need to be sure that the car is charging the battery as required when the car is being driven.
  7. 2 birds killed with one stone when you have a Promotional Reg Plate holder. Covers dealers stuff and can advertise your own business.
  8. & reset the TPMS. It is scary that people pick up cars, new, used, borrowed / hired and then drive them at the pressures set without checking them, when set by people that do not know you or your nearest or dearest. If tyre pressures are set at ridiculous pressures when a new car or used is collected then best check that Transport Blocks are removed and that the tools in the car can be used to get a wheel off to change one and that the bolts are tightened safely to keep the wheels on.
  9. Best not park the car up without enough powerer for the season or weather forecast and then people usually know for their area what winter can be like from October til April If you have not charged the car or had it charging and pre warming the interior / defrosting the glass and let the battery die then it is dead until you charge it. But that would just be stupid really. For those that have an EV and can not get around to being sure they have charged or have enough charge the Breakdown services have vehicles that can provide a charge to get you to a charger. Much like the help they give to motorists that have not enough petrol or diesel in their vehicles to get to filling stations.
  10. Oop north the officers are not stupid when looking at 'Illegal / show plates', as in they know how long you were the registered keeper so know the car must have been through MOT's with an Examiner with poor eye sight if you owned that older car more than for a year. That is just if 'Points means prizes' and they intend catching you out on something. If they can not be bothered then neither do those that drive about with dodgy plates, or plates in the front window.
  11. @Evil Police pick up on those when asking where you had your plates made up.
  12. Plenty areas have police forces that will have a blitz on Boy / Girl / Grandad and Granny racers and pick faults with many things including Reg Plates, and UK MOT testers are not doing their job rights if they do not pick up on illegal plates.
  13. Charge ports and charger flaps can be very exposed and can fill with snow or ice during charging. Some have flaps that are heated, some need heat from the cabin and some need thawing to get open. The AC plugs are locked in place when the car is locked. Tethered plugs are not a problem.
  14. For when i am someplace that i might need to use my 3 pin charger and maybe with an extension cable from others property i have a sealable box with me in the boot.
  15. @FlyingGecko maybe you are not looking at where the discussions on Earth Minerals, resources , recycling and the true costs of electrifying and reducing pollution is going on. I see ,hear and read it almost daily, but then I am interested in that stuff. So as to quite high specced and not too expensive but not a high range is a MG hatch or Estate. Quite high spec, well built with a good range on a charge then there are the Mid Size models from Hyundai / Kia. Buy a flask, or 2 flasks, one for hot and one for cold drinks. PS For many many Business Drivers / reps as they were known then it is a no brainer financially going electric. I meet some very high weekly mileage drivers that just get on with some work between locations while charging or they charge at Customers locations when they get there. Charge at the next customer or when home or to their place of rest for that night. The Customers know what their employees and reps / visitors need as EV drivers / users.
  16. Showing the Dealer Principal & Skoda PL the dashcam footage might change the attitude of the Dealer Principal, surely they have a record of who has access to customers keys and who does 'Road Tests'.
  17. Here it says a you can have a 65 or 80 hp N/A engine.
  18. @skodamax Are you intending talking with the Owner/ owners of the establishment and not just the manager if it is a manager running the place?
  19. Plenty low powered older cars are still around decades on since they were built, and when out and about on road trips there are plenty older or even newer low powered cars about. The 0-60's are never as poor as official figures appear and getting about in towns and cities they can keep up just as well as something with 150 ps or even 300 ps and no tyre chirp at junctions as you might hear from a 1.5 TSI / 150 ps. Even when in a sh!t colour they need not be sh!t just because of not much power. If available for 'Much Cheapness' then they can be 'Simply Clever'. Lots of people just drive around with nobody else in the car, so no additional 300kg carried.

  21. Highland laddies, in kilts.
  22. https://espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/31612737/extreme-e-south-america-race-posponed-due-to-covid-19 If Scotland was to be an alternative venue then there would have to be a big drop in the number of Covid Positive tests and more of an opening up of areas. Someone must of been working hard to get that story out. I read that McLaren Racing is getting involved in 2022. Also read about the Space Frame SUV's. Still waiting for an explanation why they want to make out that a 2 seater buggy has anything to do with SUV's.
  23. Unlikely with Skoda / VW Group as they never matched the Toyota 5 year warranty unless you bought a 2 year extension, or were maybe in Australia or some Global Area not in Europe. The issue is 'If everything was as reliable as a VW, what a terrible world it would be'. They do not even match the 5 Warranty the other Czech car manufacturer has. VW Group would need to sort out the Dealership Servicing so that Employees & the Customers know about the Manufacturers Recommendations on Servicing as in periods / miles-km for Cam Belts, Water Pumps, Brake Fluid, DSG, Haldex, VAQ etc, and maybe clean or replace screens or filters.
  24. Welcome to the forum. The TPMS works from the ABS sensors, so you just gets tyres changed. Please yourself with what you buy and fit as a pair. Surely you would not have a Dealer fit tyres unless they were doing them cheaper than a Tyre & Exhaust Centre. Many Dealerships take your car to a Tyre & Exhaust Centre to get new tyres on as they do not do them. PS Many 'Tyre' places say they will only fit the New Tyres to the rear. They move the rear wheels & tyres to the front. I would avoid using those places, and not have the rears moved to the front as they can be well out of shape on a Fabia.
