Octavia seems to be burning oil Mk3 vRS TDI
Be sure the oil is at the top of the cross hatch so area A as in diagrams and that is at operating temp. Not WARM. Up at 90 degrees C indicated. ?How is the checking being done now? , cold dips or at NORMAL operating temperature? The important thing is when picking up a car from a garage is dip the oil with the oil cold and the engine not started and know there is enough oil and where it is cold. Then when you get home check the oil at normal operating temp on the flat after a few minutes and see where that is. Then from that time you can check if the engine uses excessive amounts of oil. If there is not enough in to start with after leaving the garage how can you possibly know. What to watch for is high oil levels that is from diesel in the oil and that can be burned off leaving a low oil level.

Dealership service package worth it?
Welcome to the Forum. If keeping the car for 4, 5 or more years are ALL the Manufacturers Service Recommendations Parts & Fluids REALLY Included? "All items" As stated above! *Good to see in Australia they say 'schedule' that is a word not used in Europe.* Check what the 'Schedule includes in Australia. So that would need to include the Pollen Filter @ year 2 & 4. The Brake Fluid replaced @ year 3 & year 5. Spark Plugs replaced @ year 4. Air Filter replaced if required after being checked @ each service. AC Servicing @ 2 years as Skoda Main Dealers seem to say is a 'scheduled' item. Then again presumably @ 4 years.

You want a filter for the air coming in the car and you want it flowing through a clean unclogged filter. If you do not care about air getting filtered then bin the Pollen / Cabin filter. Let the wind blow high and the wind blow low. #

DSG Oil Changes are £0.00 with Fabia Servicing because no Oil Change is required. If the Oil needs changed because Skoda / VW Group need to do another World Wide Recall or Service Campaign as they called in 2014 then they can pay for that. People do change oil in DQ200's because they want to do that and there is 'How to in page 12 of the Famous DQ200 DSG clutch slip' thread in this section. Pollen filters can be vacuumed and the area cleaned if that is all they need, but pollen is not the only issue and they can get damp and foosty so smelly and full of bacteria.

OK. So they are telling you prices of stuff including those not required like the DSG Oil Change. I would try and find a good VW Independent Specialist with all the gear and more than just ideas on making money out of current customers.

Enyaq Heat Pump Option
VW Group have been charging lots for owners being able to have features function that are already installed on their vehicle but not enabled. Then the Option list items that need added can be ridiculously high. Now they are turning out cars like recently highlighted in the Octavia Mk4 section that have not had Factory Towing Preparation fitted and it is not just a case of having this done after market and the appropriate equipment, it turns out there are vehicles that have no Type Approval from Skoda to tow anything. http://thenextweb.com/news/whats-a-heat-pump-and-why-do-evs-use-them http://blog.greenenergyconsumers.org/blog/the-surprising-overlap-between-heat-pumps-and-electric-cars http://greencarreports.com/news/1124387_can-heat-pumps-solve-cold-weather-range-loss-for-evs

They are likely upselling. When you get your car back have a trusted mechanic look at them. Or speak now with the Master Tech at the place the car is and see what they are saying when they go look again at the car. If they are trying to take advantage when the car is checked properly then be sure to talk with the Dealer Principal. ? How much are you paying for what the car is actually in for? ? What is it in for, a 4 year service? I WOULD WANT TO KNOW WHY THEY ARE TRYING TO HAVE A CUSTOMER GET AN OIL CHANGE ON A 4 YEAR OLD DQ200 DSG. Sadly to often they do not know their arse from elbow at the Service Desks.

@Canoe Is the car in for a MOT, or when was the MOT done? I missed the 18,000 miles only. Are they saying the brakes are 80% worn, where they might be 20% worn if that but a bit rusty. The Spark plugs at 18,000 miles are very likely as new with the same gap as new. ? Have they not tried selling you the service of the Air Conditioning & a fuel treatment? When a mod moves your thread to the Fabia Section it will be beside the various threads about Water Pumps and Cam Belts. This is a regular thing discussed as Skoda Main Dealers & Skoda UK do not know which answer to use on any particular hour of any day. This is the SKODA UK FIXED PRICE SERVICE & MAINTENANCE LIST on cars 3-10 years old on Fixed Service Regimes. @ participating dealers. Some can do cheaper and some can charge more.

Welcome to the forum. Go to someplace else. Do not let them do the work. They are taking the Michael. Likely trying to fleece you. Best you talk to someone at the Dealership that knows what they are talking about. Your 4 year old car has a DQ200 7 Speed DSG that has no Service Schedule or Guidelines and no Oil change at 4 years / 40,000 miles or ever. They are going to have to show the discs and pads are really needing replaced and that they are not just upselling parts. ? Was the Brake Fluid changed last Year? Was the Pollen Filter changed at 2 or 3 years, that might need replacing. The Air Filter might need replacing. The spark plugs might need replacing.

British Built New Cars in Australia
From a post back in 2015 at the time of a fuel shortage. The Fuel Station and Eatery at the side of the A90 Dundee to Aberdeen route and are at the gate of Stracathro Hospital and before lockdown lots of people went to the Hospital Cafe / Canteen where the public can buy food / meals and drinks at a fair price and the staff get the subsidised price. Good grub. The Transport Place in the picture was featured in a TV Drama at some point and the 'All Day / Truckers Breakfast' looked amazing. Goes to show the camera can lie.

^^^ OT but a warning to one and all and especially any overseas visitors to Scotland. Stracathro Services next to the eatery in the pic above might be selling the most expensive petrol or diesel in Scotland and as for eating in the place, Na nay never, na nay never no more.

British Built New Cars in Australia
According to the SMMT there are 2.1% of UK manufactured cars exported from the UK going to Australia. At a guess JLR & MINI might be responsible for a fair number of the vehicles making up that 2.1%. Australia Import a lot of cars from countries now that they have no manufacturers left in Australia.

kamiq 1.5 tsi dsg monte carlo 2021
@gumdrop Easy enough to buy Sainsbury Super Unleaded 97 Ron or Tesco Momentum 99 at just £2.50 a tank more than their 95 Ron or maybe no more expensive than Esso, BP, Shell etc 95 unleaded and try yourself if you notice differences in behaviour or range from a tankful.

clutch stuck down on 2 week old Kodiaq SE Drive
Call Skoda Assist and get them to arrange the delivery of a hire car. That was what the AA responder should have done already. Give Skoda UK the chance to make the car fit for purpose and allow them an hour to get a Hire Car delivered to you unless you really are in a rural area... Then allow a couple of hours. But seeing as you drive to a main dealers I imagine there are plenty hire car providers not far away.

New Octavia 1.4 Hybrid Estate.
@Biggles33 Is it John Clark Skoda Aberdeen that has a salesperson trying to bump up their commission on the 'extras' they can get you into?
-
Skoda Fabia MKIV 2021
Deliveries might well be the issue because of the Semiconductor / chip global shortage. Skoda have suspended orders on some vehicles with order books that were open. It would be good if they did produce right hand drive versions and not just left hand drive for Show cars and Media / Press cars for reviewers / journalists. It is ridiculous with the likes of the Enyaq that journalists are going to Milton Keynes to drive left hand models. If things are touch screen and less physical buttons it is good to know how they are placed for those that will be using fingers on their left hand. Also good to know how the ergonomics are when the steering wheel and pedals are on the right hand side of a vehicle.

Still thinking about selling Yeti.....?
One point of mild hybrids with manufacturers & now the VW Group with 1.0 / 1.5 TSI's is there will be no issues with DQ200 DSG's even though VW deny there ever has been. The cars move off in Electric and are very smooth to drive and they can use less petrol so can be polluting less and Stop / Start can be seemless meaning no need for drivers to switch it off. Push the accelerator and move off in electric. You get easy to drive, and not easy to work heating / fan speed etc as knobs and buttons become touch screen and touch and vibrate placement areas.
-
DSG long term reliability
It gets the new developed e-DQ200 DSG, the cars move off in Electric mode. So all should be good. That is how VW have dealt with any issues that they might have had which obviously they never ever did have, because 'We have never heard of that before', 'Never seen that', but they forget the Sales People that say 'They all do that.' The gear changes will be fantastic, if no physical buttons and knobs for heating / fan speeds / demists etc a car that is a total PITA. If the touch screens are slow then really NFFP.

2021 / 2022 Plug in Hybrids. Company Car Tax might make them cheap this year. But!
This could be a good option for a Business / Commercial users or just for hobbies and recreational use where that needs a car with 4x4 capability or just usable farm track or forest tracks and can tow. Use like an AWD van even.

Still thinking about selling Yeti.....?
@StubodNo idea what a Pure Hybrid is, there are Plug in Hybrids and self charging / mild hybrids and there are Plug in Hybrids that charge a battery with the ICE and the battery drives the wheels not the liquid fuel engine. Business users might well see the sense economically from the tax saving, and there are Taxis that are finding a Diesel Hybrid a great saving on their overheads. There are also those private drivers that get cheap or free charging & do shorter journeys and run just on Electric and do not actually need to use petrol unless they do want to do longer trips and then they have not the issues that there can be with owning and running a pure EV.
- An ickle recall on a few Hyundai Kona & Ioniq EV's explained.
