XDS, or EDL, or XDL+ electronic differential lock - is it supplied at all in the UK?
Off Topic. But. With the likes of Supercars of London blogs and others you do get cars driven like they might be. With the RS3 some of us knew they were burning oil. Audi said not, then a few got thrashed from new and not warmed up. Audi quickly knew that at the Launches they needed to go get the cars warmed up before 'Guests / Journalists / people that enjoy driving spirited' were going out in their cars. Then eventually they had at the factory deal with Fundamental design / manufacturing / software and hardware issues. Some Vloggers / Roadtesters show issues that the Factory Test drivers never revealed, or the 'in their pocket Motoring Press hacks'. Drive it like you might if you buy them or like many do, lease them and return... then that is real world.

Puncture Warning Glitch...
The simple system was originally for the sake of Muppets with run flats on other manufacturers who might well have been German. To alert Muppets that might not have noticed they had a puncture. The system allows you to have tyres at different pressures or a spare on of a different size and set the TPMS and not have alerts. The whole TPMS thing is just needing getting to know about, and thought that pressures set cold and rechecked might show no change, but a binding brake or a bearing on the way out can have a wheel/ tyre heat more than the others or than the one on the same axle and cause an alert. No puncture and no pressure loss.

@PetrolDave They never drive to a public weigh bridge or get the car on corner weights. Autocar testers used to do that though. They did good Hot Hatch Comparisons back about 6 years ago with the likes of Focus ST, SEAT Cupra & VW Golf and caught out the fiction spec of VW compared to SEAT.

There is a reason Salespeople know little, & that is because they are salespeople and some Sales Executive get invited to Launches of new models abroad or in the UK and Sales People from VW / Skoda / Haymarket Media Group (who launch vehicles for VW Group) who know little introduce them to the vehicles, as they do with Journalists. Nobody taking and driving away cars checks the tyres pressures before road testing or knows if the cars are running 95 or 99 ron fuel. They do not even know if cars are running a factory map. (Some roadtest cars and the Tyre Pressure was as for being transporter on a transporter and still a 50psi as they might be from a PDI having been done as many new owners get when collecting a new car.)

The systems have moved on. There was ASR / TC and still is, that could come with XDS (EDL), then there was XDS+ (EDL) then we get to VAQ. As for the big power of the TSI's, TSI's with Hybrid or the TDI's. What you often get is if wheelspin is detected and not controlled by the systems then you have what you have. The simplest of the system was nipping brakes and maybe also cutting power / drive, and this still exists. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/329193-vrs-esc-tcs-edl-xds-dsr-asr-wtf http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/214776-wtf-is-abs-edl-asr-esp-hhcetc http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/289561-confuced-with-traction-control

If you go to the EV section and read about the Hyundai Ioniq 5 there is a link to an Autocar link yesterday. What a load of guff written in the article by some journalist with not an actual clue what they read someplace then wrote about. That is what you get from Haymarket Media Group publications and their journalists and editors. A lack of understanding about vehicles and motor engineering and tech quite often.

The systems fitted as standard work at UK NSL's, & at faster speeds than NSL's, but can not actually change the traction / friction available with the interface of the tyre to the road surface and if crap tyres or tyres not suitable for the conditions might be having to displace lots of water, drive on ice / black ice, on snow etc.

Puncture Warning Glitch...
The OP should act as a warning to many, just as a TPMS warning should. Getting a warning of loss of pressure from when the pressures were set and the TPMS was reset and having to reinflate tyres and reset the TPMS means the simple system is working and the vehicles operator thinks slow punctures is no biggy. Well slow punctures can be in the tread or the sidewall or the bead or even the valve and should obviously not be ignored, as doing so is just not 'simply clever'.

Turbo failure
Welcome to the forum. Having the turbo and wastegate replaced as a complete unit under warranty was something people had, but when paying with their cash money there are those that just had the wastegate actuator replaced even though Main Dealerships would say this could not be done.

MPV's available with easy in and easy out and space to carry stuff maybe doubling as a van. & Electric Vans.
These will just not have the greatest of range between charges empty or loaded.

Vehicle to grid for those not familiar with it. About time all EV's on sale can do it.- Porsche Taycan
- Basic Aerodynamics question - Bikes Roof or Back
You just need the reg plate if the one on the car is obscured, and then the same with lights. My Thule 2 rack bike for Fat Bikes or Electric bikes is damn heavy but has built in lights. In other threads on the subject others say not so heavy. I now have a good roof carrier for a not too heavy e-bike but really it was overpriced. Just the roof bar and carrier empty is really noticeable for how poor it is for range because it is on an EV. With the bike on it really affects my cars range.- Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
The person in control of the cars interior is the humidity controller and they might be in the driving seat or a passenger one. The will fiddle with controls for the heater, fan, climate / AC, windows and sunroof if there is one.- Basic Aerodynamics question - Bikes Roof or Back
2 or 3 good quality roof mount bike carriers to fit on roof bars can cost more than a good quality 3 bike rear row ball carrier & reg plate. But if you have the bars and the bike carriers for the roof and you want the bikes with you and the caravan any time you are sorted.- Basic Aerodynamics question - Bikes Roof or Back
Not an answer to your question, but bikes on the rear on a towball mounted rack are less restricting as far as getting into places with height barriers like you might come across on road trips with bikes at car parks, forest parks, shopping centres etc.- Engine re-mao
@HareLawIf you get it done then you can then let others know how it goes. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/489448-sportline-15tsi-engine-tunermap- Will these roof bars fit ?
There are 2 roof bar threads on this page or the next. Maybe some help in those. There are about 6 threads in this section on roof bars. The missing hole is a mystery as the cars panels / pressings should all be identical. ? Was your car ever written off and had a rebuild ?- Leaking Panoramic Roof - The Cause and the Cure
Rain, damp and humid weather can also be common in parts of Scotland and snow. Climate control / AC on can be a very important item to use during these times when opening a sunroof is not simply clever or even windows if no wind deflectors are fitted. But it is good that people can do as they wish and only they know if they get steamy windows. A damp interior is the cause of many vehicles steamy windows. Also faulty A/C or unused A/C.- Advice on engine type
Worth a wait just a few weeks. New reg cars at Dealers needing sold, stock getting to look another year older, and many asking prices are already optimistic. Let the dealers get more desperate to shift cars as the lockdown is eased and as more 3 year old cars come back into trade at the end of their lease and Motability cars are coming in at 3 years old having bee handed back and bought from BCA.- Will these roof bars fit ?
Sorry no idea about the fit, but i would look again for the holes on the Mk2, there should be ones there.- Hyundai Ioniq 5

EV's on Winter or Snow tyres are fantastic on Snow, and when wading on flooded roads that are passable. The bottom are flat and OK if lower as long as you are not bellying out. The power can be turned right down, or you stay light on the accelerator, the traction control can be doing it's thing or be put off, the regen can do the braking without the need to use the brake pedal. The interior and the batteries can be pre-heated. Better if the Auto hold can be disabled or the e-Brake is the choice of the driver if used or not, disabled if wanted. The best thing anyone can do is actually try one in the most adverse of conditions. Wipers and screen jets can be an issue, and windscreen wash in particular if not a heated bottle and jets as their is no heat in the engine compartment. Having a Heated front screen is well advised. Also air intakes and space under the wipers that do not block with snow or ice and stop wipers from working and climate control being blocked /air intakes. The cold weather testing seems to be done in Climates different from the UK were freezing and thawing might happen often from various days and nights and not everyplace has constant cold and dry conditions. My e-Corsa with only 125mm ground clearance and over 1,400 kg kerb / unladen weight but it kept on going where many a SUV on the wrong or even the right tyres was not still moving. *No use up a farm track with a big hump in the middle, but then many SUV / Cross overs with supposed greater ground clearances are no use on them either.* - Hyundai Ioniq 5
