The wipers are not ideal as they push snow below their park area and then stop working until you stop and clear underneath to let them do full sweeps. Otherwise it keeps on moving while AWD's on the wrong tyres are sip sliding around and getting pushed, some even on flat ground.

John Clark Skoda Specialist Cars Dundee used to have sets of 4 Steel Wheels and winter Tyres every winter inside the front door for sale. Not seen that for a few years now though. @Simon79 Surely they know that Steel Spare Wheels limited to 50 mph are when fitted as a spare. ie, the 3 alloys and tyres are on the car and the Steel Spare wheel. 4 steel wheels with the appropriate tyres speed / load rated on the car are not limited to 50 mph. The tyres on them that John Clark Skoda Aberdeen might have will possibly be an H speed rating. (130 mph) @Carlston might be along with the links to the places with Steel wheels available and maybe in the UK so delivery can be while the snow is still here.

I would like to see their choices out now being driven in Blizzard like conditions. Pop out handles, and air intakes for the cabins blocked up with solid snow or ice. As for the city cars taken for a little trip between cities and having to maybe get off a main route and find a charge place. I have not seen what the e-Honda's charge place looks like if plugged in and charging and there is heavy snow or just sleet and then freezing temps.

@Amandak Go to the window, put it down and feel if the window was tinted by a film being applied. If so it can be removed. Your other post / thread in the Superb sections has answers.

@Amandak. Have you really spent time trying to find out if your glass was tinted or had a tint film applied without trying to actually feel for the film and remove it?

Did the car get the Recall Action carried out in 2013 when there was a World Wide Recall which included Australia. *Europe was not in the world so got a Service Campaign.* The Synthetic Oil was changed to Mineral and a software update was done. Then again in 2019 a Recall / Service Campaign was called in Australia for the DQ200's in Australia. Covering cars fro 2009-2016. It weights loads, about the lightest kerb weight given for a Superb but you you never know that until you try jumping yumps or you lose traction and it starts going sideways. 260 Nm torque means more than the 136 ps when you are putting the accelerator down. The suspension is firm but really rather good and the car corners flat.

? What are you going to a Skoda Dealership for now. That is where you should have been with the manufacturer's warranty to have the DSG fixed for free. Too late for that now. There could have been an issue with a fork that also needed addressing.

The DQ200 7 speed dry clutch DSG did not get used with 2 litre TSI or TDI,s. Only used with fwd cars with up to 250Nm of torque. So the most powerful was the VW Polo GTI 1,8 TSI with 192ps. The manual version of the same car had 320 Nm. 1.6TDI CR got the DQ 200 DSG. As did MK2 Fabia 1.4 TSI 180ps Twinchargers and other 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5 and some 1.8 TSI,s right up to 2021. You have the choice of changing both oils used in a DQ200 if you want, it is just there is no manufacturers recommendation or schedule requiring that.

@PLEASE How much have you paid for the work done? A Skoda Dealership could easily have checked if the car was purchased in the UK and was covered by the Skoda Manufacturers Warranty. If the work has been done by a non approved Skoda Repairer and the job paid for by yourself then you are stuck with whoever did it responsible for their work. If it is an Approved VW Group Repairer doing work with a Genuine Part then that has a 2 years part and labour warranty. Or should do.

Since Spotlights are only for using when there are nobody there to be dazzled the height hardly matters as no Officers of the law should see them on and they are not checked in a MOT. Personally i think they look naff and am not sure they can actually function very well to light up the road as well as they could if higher up. ? Do they do what you expected them to when the Full Beam is not enough?

@PLEASE Welcome to the forum. The garage has messed up doing the work so there is not much more to it than that. Maybe they have not diagnosed the fault correctly before getting a MSU, and maybe they had coding issues from fitting that and getting the pump working. Not unknown for Main Dealerships fitting new MCU's. Is this a Skoda Main Dealership that did the work Are you someplace with a 3 year Warranty on the car?

@Chrigdo you have a History of servicing and preventive maintenance over the past years as what was done and where? Maybe best find a local VW Independent Specialist and get done stuff that might be outstanding. Your mileage is the same as a car might have had at 2 years old and have got a major service which is not much other than an Oil & Filter change and a Pollen filter and look see. What was done at 3 years old? ? Is it a petrol or diesel Octavia? Brake Fluid change was due at 3 years old, so at least the H20 content should be checked if not changed. The Air Filter could do with being looked at if not to be changed. Pollen Filter due. Oil & Filter and change the service interval maybe to Fixed if the car is still on variable / flexible. Things need doing maybe like the brakes serviced / cleaned / greased. Stuff Main Dealers charge a lot for doing and are not part of an Oil & Inspection Service or even the Extended Scope.

'Rough road package' not 'Off road package'. £100 will get you maybe something worth 30 euro if even that!. Unless Skoda pricing on options has changed greatly.

Just as well the Service Recommendations with the 6 speed boxes has been good for well over a decade, but it will be a few years before we know with the 7 speed wet clutch DSG's.
