Sounds like that was @ a Commercial public charger. (Just like calling a filling station a public filling station.). You pays your money and make your choices . I don't suppose Shmee has range anxiety as he can just pick a car any car from his collection and use it as needs must. The Taycan will pay its way as people click on to YouTube and the HMRC will treat it nicely as another of his tools of his trade.
  2. @CrazyLSorry i am not able to help with your question, but, ? Where did you get the information on Service Check Intervals, was this from Mr Clutch and was the car supposed to go to them @ 500 miles & then @ 3,000 miles, and were they going to be charging you for them to take the car for some test drive, or was this all in the cost of them having done the job & required within the Warranty Period of 12 months? ? Is it not worth talking to the rude blokes boss, unless he is actually the manager or owner?
  3. It is so strange calling the 2 seater large electric crosscountry race buggies in E-Extreme a SUV. Is that a sports or suburban utility vehicle?
  4. @stever750, what questions did you ask first. Was it, will remapping your car matter to you?
  5. What is he on about with 'already working on a solution for a mid cycle refresh.' Does he mean they will stop using animal skin? This is a brand new car not yet with new customers. Maybe Thomas has been Sniffing too many leatherette seats. ? Which electric cars do not have the batteries set low giving a low centre of gravity?
  6. @stever750. You were a bit lucky with the one you were leasing and remapped and that needed a new turbo. When people own a car they really can do pretty much as the please. When others own it some care needs taking if invalidating the manufacturer's warranty.
  7. Welcome. Maybe best take it to a local trusted garage / mechanic to get a diagnosis and repair.
  8. @Aspman i would think leaving the Vauxhall Dealership Network is no real loss to them. For Vauxhall owners the workshop will still be there and quite likely the AC Dealerships just 15 miles away.
  9. @Chrishour At a Skoda Approved Repairer / Main Dealership any TPI / Service Campaign Software updates should be getting done if outstanding, but you are signing to allow that when you hand in the car. So ask if any are outstanding, and if you do not want software updates put that on writing on the Work Sheet you are signing that allows them to work on your car. Check if any 'Recall Actions / Service Campaign work' is outstanding on here. Not all will show. http://skoda-auto.com/services/recall-actions There are independent VW Group Specialists that may have the Licensed Equipment and can check TPI's etc. Also do Software Updates if any are required. Concerning the issues that appear on forums, there are some that are very common, so with a Euro 5 1.8 / 2.0 TSI it is worth knowing what the issues can be. The pinned thread at the top of the Octavia Mk2 Section is worth looking at. Many cars that have had issues might well have had those addressed and resolved / fixed.

  11. Brake assistance settings like Steering assistance might be adjusted on Motability Cars or at Drivers request where a changing in the setting might suit a driver with standard controls or hand controls or adaptions. Skoda used to use the term Disability adaptions to the controls. When buying a used car it is a good idea not to assume that the Brake, Steering Assist is not at a Factory setting as the adjustment might be already done for more or even less assistant. As might happen with XDS settings. Cars traded in or bought at auction may well not be reset to the factory setting, so check, especially if the car was owned first by Motability.
  12. It will be interesting to know just how much oil is required to get the oil when checked at operating temp at the top of the crosshatch area. Top of B.
  13. @Paul R TIs there any update? Have you had contact with whoever was responsible for the NIP you received?
  14. You have a 1.5 TSI 150ps with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) same as Audi with COD (Cylinder on demand). the 1.4 TSI / 1.4 TFSI Euro 5 and Euro 6 came with ACT/COD or without that. There were different power outputs over the years eg 125,140, 150 ps. Turbo only. (Euro 5 1.4 TSI 180/ 185 ps were in some Fabia, Polo, Ibiza & A1's with a Turbo & Supercharger, they were also in various VW Group models with 125, 150 & 160 ps. That is just a simplification of a rather involved subject.

@ZacDaMan72 it very much has been the case with some Skoda Dealership employees where the management seem to have them poorly trained on the products being sold. With Lockdown now and a long enough lead up to actually taking orders for the vehicles the sales staff might have familiarised them selves with what there will be. That will be on paper or screen obviously as they have no vehicles to be trucking around in currently and sticking on the chargers the Dealerships should now have installed.
  16. @Jamm13dodger Is that the oil level with the engine cold and not started? or when the engine and engine oil is at the normal operating temperature where it should be checked at, on the flat with the engine stopped for a few minutes as in 4 or 5 minutes ? (Not checked when Warm as some Skoda Owners Manuals say, it is at Normal Operating temp or Hot as in other VW Manuals.) You do want to know where it is when cold so you know before journeys.
  17. Now that Skoda have announced a more sporty version of chassis / ride height with the Enyaq Sportline do we actually have from them what the ground clearance is of the versions without the lowered suspension?

So many choices that the salepeople will be in a spin and be confused by Skoda discontinuing versions / options before anyone even got to actually receiving a new factory order. That is if salespeople ever get to know what is what, how they charge and how far a customer might get one to go on a full charge with passengers in the seats and luggage in the boot. The Insurance companies will hopefully have sussed the complications of the various vehicles spec and just go by the performance when it comes to the group they fall into.
  19. They need to keep them getting Media & Forum coverage as people are not seeing them in Dealerships or out and about on the roads. One of the best way is to get Haymarket Media Group running an article on them in their publications. They will always happily put up some images produced by Skoda Media since there are no actual pictures of the model in the flesh they can publish. What Car / Autocar might even make them Car of the Year 2022 just to get things moving.
  20. You can be charging free or cheaply at home or work or even on public chargers . Not paying £20 or more every 150 miles or so for petrol or diesel, not paying so much in tax if a business user. Maybe not paying to park, or pay Work Place tax where that comes in and not paying in Low Emission zones. There are so many reasons not to have or drive an EV and for some plenty reasons to have one. Some might have one of each type of vehicle as they see what suits their needs and find the ICE vehicles are no longer necessary for them for work, domestic, leisure or pleasure. Now that there are EV's with longer possible ranges & also towing capacities people might look differently on what they might drive.
